Just started having issues with game's audio too, Eivor's (male) voice is much louder than most NPC's, second problem is that there is almost no music at all, also sometimes sound of the horn is completely muted..
I would love to see HQ/HD sound AND texture pack, like Watch Dogs Legion had, please Ubisoft make it happen.

@diiorio it doesn't fix the problem entirely, still with auto balance you can't hear waterfall, combat swings and any fighting sounds. So it needs to be fixed by the game devs not by the users.
Not hearing fighting sounds just kill the mood for me and I can't stand to play ACV for more than an hour or so...

PC and possibly all platforms, looks like a general audio/music system bug (playing on 1.0.2 version):
The sound effects stop working for a couple of seconds sometimes. You can't hear footsteps etc.
The music is definitely too quiet and even when setting other effects to lower % and music to 100% it doesn't help. Feels very unbalanced, especially during raids you can barely hear any music which is sad because it's one of the best things in the game.

Do you guys also have the sound issue where Eivor just screams too loud when climbing things ? Or jumping?
This is like killing totally the game and my ears.
I've stop playing the game and can't even touche it until they fix this.

"Picked up our trail hold on" is constantly spammed whenever I enter combat.
The raids are a constant spam of it, over and over and over.
I had a world event that glitched where I was supposed to escort a pregnant woman. I don't know if that is what started it; just a theory.
But wow this sucks so bad.

Same sounds problems too. The sounds sample rate is horrible, and sound levels are dumb.
Espacially in the French version (the main characters sounds are unbearables, the climbing voice effect is like a roar of deer, with 200% volume level of others effects ...)
Impossible to play like that, I'll ask a refund if nothing is fixed soon...

The audio is awful and definitely bad enough to ruin the immersion on any good pair of headphones... The audio mixed with numerous bugs (such as this https://streamable.com/8w9rci WATCH UNTILL THE END) makes the game almost unplayable On top of that they have even been hiding/deleting threads that show the issues or complaints about stuff like the audio which is weird as [censored] to say the least...

Couldn't find a thread with my specific sound issue so I'm trying out my luck here.
I have both a headset and 2.0 stereo connected to my PC. Stereo is connected via AUX-wire to motherboard and headset with USB.
Issue is that some sounds are missing whenever I'd like to use my stereos to play. All dialogue is missing, Eivors' footsteps are missing and various other sounds are missing while some environmental sounds can be heard (trees, water, wind) and background music. This makes it unplayable and forces me to use my headset.
I do not have any missing sounds with my headset, which I think makes this issue very interesting. I didn't find any sound settings in-game which would have impact on this.
I've never had this kind of issue with any other videogame.
Any idea what is causing this issue and how to fix it?

Why is this still not fixed?
While running on grass in a field, my footsteps are literally deafening ... I've turned sound effects down to 15% to make it bearable...
Also, when I swing my axe in an open field, Eivor's grunt echoes like he's in a small cave.
Who is in charge of this?

I only recently got this game and I want to add my voice to the horrible sound as well.
I noticed it as soon as I got into my first dialogue, Eivors voice sounds very loud where as the others are very low and sometimes barely audible as if they were talking to me from very far away.
I see this thread is almost a year old and it's still this bad.
How hard can it be to actually balance the audio to a point where its even?
Is the audio so entwined with the rest of the code that it would take years to fix or is it just that Ubisoft simply do not care what their customers think once they have our money?

In regards to the audio for Eivors voice, it's very much the former of your statements that has affected our ability to fix this issue. Due to technical constraints and other priority issues, we will not be implementing a fix for these specific cases. We recommend adjusting subtitles and other sound settings to help aid comprehension of the NPCs in any situations where the sound is not perfectly balanced.
Other audio issues are still being reported and passed along to the development team for further investigation. Ongoing investigations include work on other sound effects and mixing, which we welcome players to contact us about with their experiences.

@ubi-nacho Yes you are right it's not the response I was hoping for, but it is what I have come to expect from Ubisoft.
You develop a game where the sound is terribly unbalanced and do it in such a way that even trying to fix is difficult at best, and when the players complain about to they get the kind of reply I get here which quite frankly sounds like the usual "it's too much work so we can't be bothered to try and fix it because reasons" I have come to expect from big corporations like Ubisoft.
What the hell happened to quality control before you release a product?
