Is there any reason why the awful screen tearing on the Series X (and from what I've read, also on the One X) isn't mentioned at all in the ''known issues'' list? It is incredibly jarring, especially during cutscenes. Apparently enabling VRR fixes it, but my TV doesn't support that (and I think most people don't own a TV that supports VRR)

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Hi Vikings!

The dedicated teams have provided us with the following update:

After thorough investigation from the development team, we will be unable to continue looking into potential solutions to instances of screen tearing or FPS drops. After ongoing improvements aimed to fully address this issue, it will not be possible to resolve this concern completely for all players.

Following this decision, we will now be marking this thread as "Resolved," as no further fixes are planned. I understand this may not be the update you were hoping for, and apologise for any impact this has had on your gameplay experience.

Please feel welcome to share your thoughts and feedback within this thread and we will forward these to dedicated teams.

Screen tearing on the series X. Dont understand how this is happening given the fact this was meant to be the first big next gen game to showcase what next gen can do.

Will there be a fix soon?

@lordofthering5 Having the same issue here. The tearing is really bad. Horribly stutter in cut scenes as well

The tearing on Series X is terrible.
Have to stop playing the game until it's resolved.
Game is totally unplayable in current state!

@froster I’ve noticed this on Series X as well. Console is set to output 60Hz to my LG B7 & the game seems more than able to run at 60 FPS consistently, so the tearing is very odd. Almost feels like the framerate is uncapped & there’s no vertical sync?

Same issue with my Sony KD-XF9005. Ubi must either assume everyone has a VRR TV or forgot the V-Sync toggle 🙂

@stuntg0007 I suppose your TV allows VRR?

I can't believe it was released like this. I get screen tearing just by looking up and down. Playing on Sony Bravia.

    Hi,

Finally had a good session on ACV today on Series X. Beautiful looking game, but theres some horrible screen tearing particularly in cutscenes and built up areas. I’m hoping a fix is being worked on as this issue is getting a LOT of complaints on forums and social media.

I am also having the same issue, it was fine until I got to the first big town. I have played other games with zero screen tearing, thought it was a thing of the past with next gen until now. Very annoying.
