  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@peacekeepersun Have you considered reducing the difficulty?

Or play more defensively maximising your shield use.

honestly, im with you. if i wanted to play a dark souls style game then i [censored] would. i don’t understand this dumb trend these days... wish developers would realise that not every game has to be like that. i loved the combat in odyssey but valhalla feels so clunky and [censored]... and the stamina bar- omg! hate it

I don't really mind the slower paced combat. The thing I have issue with is how enemies (usually bosses) are scripted to block/evade every single attack until you parry them several times to stun them. Rinse and repeat. It just seems really boring and cheap, and limits the amount of freedom when fighting enemies compared to previous games. Also, there are bosses that conjure magical shields that block all projectiles, which feels pretty cheap as well.

Though I've adapted to the combat and have gotten pretty good at it, I still feel a lot of the fights are "you have to fight this specific way only" instead of "I get to fight my way", which is kinda disappointing.

I wouldn't say combat is that hard but it is a lot worse than 'Odyssey' combat.
Play on easy, use dual daggers, build to have at least 3 adrenalin segments and the 'slows time when dodge' ability.

The game is good in most ways if you can get through the combat.
