Hey Everyone, this is my first time playing an AC game (I also have Black Flag but haven't played it yet) and I'm trying to figure it all out, so far it's pretty straight forward, except for the chicks voice in the beginning where I had to pick my toon, but whatever, I'll figure that out later.
Right now I have the PC version, keyboard and mouse, and I am at the first longhouse where you try to rescue your crew, I just defeated the guy who had my axe and got my axe back, NOW it's telling me to free the prisoner, and it shows to press [C], which is bound to "Crouch" and does NOTHING to free the prisoner....as it's my "default" crouch button.
I have looked through the keyboard controls to try to rebind whatever that key would be other then [C], but I can't figure it out, AND I can't save.
I was able to free the guys in the cage as that one said press [E].
any idea whats going on here?
thanks
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

I cannot pass this point in the game, it will not let me rescue the prisoner, nor open the door.
replaying the event doesn't help.
any ideas?
Yeah I tried [E] and [F], actually I tried holding every letter on the keyboard, one at a time.
I think you're right, it's supposed to be [E], but it's prompting me [C] for some unknown reason.
I wonder if it could be my TM HOTAS warthog, setup? I'll try unhooking that and see.
thanks for the try brother.
@chaosandcoffee
e is for speaking, opening things
the c is for free captures, but you have to hold down the key, if you only tab c then you go stealth
@speedynl21
Here is what I'm talking about, I am holding down C when I am crouching next to the prisoner.
Also, I am stuck here, I guess if i don't find a way to free that guy I must stay in this long house forever....
@jbblack007
oh wow that's so weird, and sucks.. try rebinding crouch to something else and see what happens? does it still prompt you for c? or is it locked to the crouch keybind?
also try changing the "Crouch Action" to hold perhaps, see if that does anything
@chaosandcoffee
Ok that worked, I bound crouch/drop to one of my mouse buttons for now and I was able to free him, I'm now at Fornburg!!
It still made me press [C] to free him, I will try rebinding crouch to c and take it off of "push to hold" and set it to the default of "crouch hold", see if it happens again.
thanks man!!
@chaosandcoffee
great! i'm glad it worked, really weird it wasn't working in the first place. holding c is also the key for letting go of pushing boxes, etc. so hopefully it doesn't mess with that or anything either. good luck in your travels drengr!
