I bit the bullet and just reloaded an earlier save- had to redo a couple hours of stuff but the quest proceeded properly this time. I stayed out of combat and circled around as per @Dab_Youre_it's advice.

No one comes to my aid when trying to force open door to longhouse. I have a video but cannot post it.

I’m already like almost 40 hours in now and this [censored] is aggravating I encourage anyone who’s having this issue to also make a post

Can't get into longhouse because sigurd and basim stand there doing nothing. Not restarting an earlier save as I have put in over 20 hours into it already. This needs sorting out right now as I know that I'm not the only person with the issue!

Sigurd and Basim are not moving and will not open the Buckingham longhouse door which means I am unable to progress with the main quests.

In the mission of Brewing Rebellion, you are unable to enter the longhouse. The additional characters show up near the door, but the characters will not help open the door. Unable to continue the story mode

Can’t force open door after reaching the longhouse. NPCs just stand there doing nothing.

@ubiexcellent any update on this fix. I’ve been waiting 2 days and can’t progress anymore. I’m not starting a 30 hour save over.

@ubiexcellent basically no icon shows up on the map on where you’re supposed to go. Sigurd and the assassin are pretty much stuck in place and only react when being attacked by enemies. Then they freeze again. If you find the longhouse and try to force open the door, a force open option shows but no one is there to join you. You can literally bang on the door for hours on end. It’s actually pretty sad looking as Eivor is literally banging on this door for hours with his friends no more than 10 feet away unable to help him. It’s been like this SINCE LAUNCH DAY AND WE ARE UNABLE TO PROGRESS!!!

I’ve also lost the map marker for this quest entirely, even when I select to track it. I am at stage, “Reach Buckingham’s Longhouse.”

It may be buggy because I didn’t really try to sneak around much & casually murdered a bunch of guards who looked at me funny. Probably not what Sigurd would have wanted...

I have fast traveled elsewhere and restarted the game. Nothing changes.

Ubisoft, any update? We are cannot progress game!

I've got the same problem, though on Xbox One, please fix ubisoft as it is very frustrating.

The problem is that the door to the building cannot be breached - Sigurd and the second NPC are standing still, and no weapons are visible during the fight. There is also no marker for the task on the map - it has disappeared.

Please let us know if the problem has already been reported. I have 30 hours of gameplay behind me, I do not want to start all over again.

For me, this problem appeared on the Xbox Series X.

We are deeply disappointed with so many bugs. The game cost a lot of money and is impossible to complete.
