Sometimes when I'm in a loading screen, the sound effect that plays when you kill a Zealot will randomly go off. It is incredibly loud and very startling:

(WARNING: I'm not kidding when I say it's incredibly loud.)

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Hey folks,

Sorry to hear that you are encountering this audio glitch.

Can you confirm how often this happens?

@ubi-swaggins It's pretty infrequent, it's hard to really say. Sometimes it gets triggered and sometimes it doesn't. Thanks for looking into this!

The team are having some trouble reproducing this issue, to assist could you answer the following?

    • Have you killed a Zealot prior to this issue?
    • If so, which Zealot did you kill?

Could you also provide a copy of your save file to our website?

@ubi-swaggins I feel like I had it happen in Norway before coming to England, so no, I don't believe I killed a Zealot before this started happening. I'll try and get my save file to you

@battlebabushka Has happened to me as well, both before and after the 1.0.4 "patch".

@ubi-swaggins It happens quite often on the loading screen when I'm travelling "back" from Norway.

Frustratingly it doesn't happen every time, but it's shatteringly loud when it does!

Since there are no zealots in Norway, it seems unconnected from zealot kills.

@beingds85 this STILL happens to me.. so annoying. This game is LOADED with bugs and it seems as if Ubisoft isn't handling them pretty well.

    Hey there.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this.

After thorough investigation, the development team is unable to continue looking into specific SFX alterations, as they must focus on issues that have a comparatively higher impact on gameplay experience.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused as a result of this.

    @Ubi-Orion

Makes me feel like this is a "Oops, you have been caught using mods or have cheated in some way." and now as punishment, we get our ears blasted anytime we load. This started for me when I kept reloading trying to kill a zealot 200 levels higher than me and Im using visual mods. Removing those mods doesn;t solve this issue.

Instead of fixing something that's clearly an issue and interferes with your player base, you opt to say "Sorry, not sorry, come back when you have a real issue."
This really seams on par with the other issues with the loading screens, such as the Drunk on load bug where you just have to deal with Eivor being drunk for a minute anytime you load.

Hi @ThatSurfinOtter apologies for the late response.

After reading through the posts in this thread and the ticket that was opened there was no mention of mods being the cause of this issue.

As these are the only reports of this issue that were received and the development team were unable to reproduce the issue they were unable to continue looking into it as they needed to focus on issues that had a higher impact on gameplay experience.

I have also noticed that you have revived two old threads recently, this one and another. We do recommend creating a new post and including the link to the old thread rather than replying in an old thread.

Please check the forum rules here for more information.

I will now lock this thread.
