  • PC solution (at least for me) - Using Xbox One wired controller causes FPS drop, flickering shadow, screen tearing, etc.. over time

    Howdy,

Just wanted to post this cause it might help someone else...

I haven't been able to play Valhalla (Odyssey included) for longer than 1-2hrs without the FPS dropping to an unplayable state (with flickering shadows, tearing, etc...). I have tried everything from lowering the setting to messing around in the registry... but I finally found my solution.

I've been using a 'PDP Prismatic wired controller for Xbox one' and the issue was with the drivers... I downloaded and installed the drivers directly from the PDP website and also updated the firmware using 'PDP control hub app' on windows (after I updated the drivers the PDP hub app doesn't work so I'd recommend updating the firmware first before the drivers). Something isn't right with the windows controller drivers (it could also be the PDP controller not being from Microsoft)… Anyways, if you have a similar issue try to download the drivers directly from the manufactures website and install them manually - then restart and see.

Hopefully this helps somebody else cause it took me years to finally pin down this problem.

    Cheers,

    Mississippi

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
