I've read of several people reporting this issue on Reddit, but I have no idea if Ubisoft checks there and I didn't see anything about it here. During the Seas of Fate, when Styrbjorn confronts Eivor and Sigurd at the docks when they prepare to leave for England, two of Harald's men approach and accuse Eivor of murdering some of their fellows in the woods. I assumed this was just a scripted thing that happened off-camera, since I am absolutely sure I didn't kill any of his men. Then I watched some gameplay of others and noticed the different dialogue without the accusation. Upon making a new game, I made sure to kill absolutely nobody outside of Kjotve's men, only killing in missions and killing nobody at all after the assault on Kjotve's fortress. Eivor was still accused of murder. Not a big issue at all, and I'm sure there are more important things to work on, but I'm seeing some confusion about it. I am playing on PC, but I don't know whether consoles are having the same issue or not.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@jltrippin I've just experienced this (Aug 2021). I've purged my saves (local/cloud), reinstalled, restarted and still arrive at the glitch. What I noticed is that after you complete the mission where you track down Gorm, and his escape, the game awards you ~41 silver for completing the mission which isn't normal. At some point the game ties you to the death of Harold's men but it is not seen from the players point of view. After the chase there was no physical altercations on my end up until the glitch. I even tried to start a conversation with Harold's guards to pay them this prior but there was no mention of having a debt oath for killing anyone.

Hey there @JLTrippin . I apologize for the super long delay in getting back to you about this particular issue. Did this continue to happen no matter how many times you restarted the game? Or did you just keep playing after the second attempt to resolve it?

@Isolfi Thank you for reaching out about this issue as well, and for sharing that apparent connection between this and the mission to track down Gorm. Would it be possible to get a short video clip showing this issue since it seems to be prevailing despite those troubleshooting steps you've tried?

I have found out how to bypass this. After speaking to Sigard and the crew in the long house you will be teleported to the top of the cliff where you can swing down to get to the docks. Simply fast travel to the dock and talk to Sigard and it will continue on with the correct dialog.

@ubi-theberry I tried to get a video but it worked correctly. Not sure if I just got lucky or not.

@isolfi This fix didn't work for me. How can this bug still not be fixed? I've restarted the game 3 times and the only time I get this bug is when I do the archery lesson in fornburg. The game thinks I killed Harolds men. Frustrating to say the least.

Hello irishmane thanks for letting us know that this bug appears for you after completing the archery lesson.

We are still reaching out to players for further information on this bug and require a video for our QA team to replicate the exact steps.

If you or anybody else can capture a video of this wrong dialogue prompt and can upload your save file to the cloud for us to access, please let us know, and post a video link in the thread if possible, thank you.
