For starters I am happy to be back in the Assassins universe and even more happy to be a Viking! I do feel a little disappointed because it does feel like this game was rushed; like this should be a final BETA to polish it before the actual release. I say this because of the majority of bugs that have been plaguing the game so far. While updates are expected and with such a vast environment not every wrinkle can be ironed out games used to be a lot more polished before release.

My wishlist of things that would be nice to see are:

    1. Customization, customization, customization! My favorite of the series is AC3, this game brings back one of the reasons I loved that one so much and its the settlement. However, it would be nice if we could obtain dye packs or something for our buildings, clothing, and weapons. I like this design on my sail but want a green background instead, being able to customize shields, there is quite a bit that could be customizable without even putting some effort into the thought. We are locked in to playing a character by name but that does not mean we should not be able to customize our character to our own unique likeness.
    2. I am guessing the legendary animal mount system is still bugged as I can't find my elk but if we are supposed to be able bask in the greatness of our kills can the game put forth a little more effort and bring back the mechanics that allowed us to display our armor sets and weapons like the first few Assassins games? We spend all this time collecting the gear and then it just sits in our inventory never to be seen again unless we wear or wield it. While I myself don't use shields or two-handed weapons to have them proudly displayed around the longhouse would give them a cosmetic purpose.
    3. I want to pet my animals! I have a wolf and a cat and yet I can only pet strange animals? Doesn't make much sense.
    4. Another thing about animals it would be nice if we could target the fast moving bastards that are rabbits and squirrels. Not a big fan of the altar that requires 10 small bullfish either. Would be nice if it was just bullfish, not so specific. It would be kind of nice if the mechanics from AC3 came back that gave us a point to hunting. Sure you can build the hunting lodge and it kind of gives a hunting a purpose but to be able to use it craft unique looking items that are present on your ship, settlement, or person would be cool. Sure I upgraded my quiver to hold more arrows but I hunted them wascaly rabbits and used the hide to make it out of rabbit furs. Stuff like that; I guess this could go above in the customization section too.

This is just a start. I will keep this updated as I work my way through the game.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
