    @ubi-spud I was able to resolve the issue by reverting to the previous NVIDIA driver (457.09). The new "Game Ready" driver was causing my Spash Screen lockup.


    How did you manage to do that?

    Just installed AC valhalla on my new PC.
    The game is continuously stuck on the launching screen and wont start.
    I've tried all basic stuff: reinstalling, verifying, run as admin etc. but nothing works.

    PC build:
    AMD ryzen 5 3600X
    Geforce 1060
    16gb RAM hyperx 4266Mhz
    Samsung 960 M2 SSD

    @breakabletie yeah me 2 at this point i just want a refund its been 3 weeks and nothing has been done i havent even received a response.

    I played Valhalla for 48 hours, played in the morning one day 3 weeks ago without incident. Tried to play the game later the same day and it crashed, and has continued to crash. Reinstalled the game 6 times on 3 different drives, reinstalled ubi connect 3 times, did all the fixes with my system, new drivers, old drivers, sfc.exe, and so on.

    AC odyssey and AC Origins still run fine, as do all my other ubi games.

    my take is this is a ubi connect launcher problem, as there are never any Valhalla crash dumps because as best i can tell, the game never executes. Ubi Connect crashes before that with these types of errors in the debug log

    i am STILL stuck on the SPLASH SCREEN for this game. i HAVENT been able to start it ONCE because of this issue. im thinking about getting a refund and playing cyberpunk. at least that game doesn't give me any bugs and actually lets me play it.

    Hello everyone,

    Thank you for continuing to report these issues with Assassin's Creed Valhalla on PC whereby the game would freeze on the splash screen.

    I am pleased to say that as part of today's 1.1.0 title update, we addressed these issues. The patch notes state:

    (PC) Addressed an issue that could cause freezes during Splash Screen.

    It would be much appreciated if all of you affected could reply again here to let us know whether you are able to launch the game properly after updating it! Please also specify the type of drive you have the game installed on (e.g. HDD, SSD, Microsoft Storage Space Device) so that we can best assist you further if it is needed. Thank you all for your patience and understanding while we worked to address these issues, and don't hesitate to reply with any questions, concerns or feedback that you have! 🙂

    @krvpt im tired of getting my hopes up whenever they say this [censored] is fixed but nope [censored] bugged to all hell lazy asses didnt do anything

    @krvpt I merged the thread you created with the established thread you had already been commenting in - please stick to existing threads where possible.

    You've mentioned that you're still stuck on the splash screen following the 1.1.0 update - I'm sorry to hear this. With this new update applied, I'd like to recommend running through our troubleshooting for PC as well as ensuring that the game is installed on a non-Microsoft Storage Space Device drive. If you complete all troubleshooting and a reinstallation of the game, and still see that you cannot progress past the splash screen, please let me know so that I can reopen the investigation into this issue. I'll need to collect fresh system files from you in a support case as well.

    @ubi-woofer yeah well they didn't do too much of a good job. i've done all methods to try and fix YOUR game. given you are the messenger, this is still unacceptable. i haven't even seen a speck of gameplay at all. not able to launch this game once since it came out. a refund sounds reeeeally nice right about now.

    @krvpt I fully appreciate you may have tried many things prior to this update - I'd like to ask however that you repeat our essential steps, including reinstalling the game, in order for us to verify that the fix applied has been ineffective for you. Once these steps have been completed, and if the issue persists, please let me know (and let me know the type of storage you are using per my initial response) so that we can discuss this further in a support case and get it looked into for you.

    A refund request would be considered against our refund policy for digital content - you are welcome to submit a request but I cannot guarantee it would be granted.

    @ubi-woofer just reinstalled the game on my C drive. HDD. 1TB. game doesn't start. noticed that i've done all these methods too. nothing works.

    it also says when i go to refund that i haven't ordered anything???? the game is obviously installed on my computer so obviously i paid for it.. not even giving me an option to refund your broken [censored] game.. nice customer service ubisoft really [censored] nice

    I've also this issue.
    I've played 20 hours when the game comes out without a problem and, from 1.0.4, I cannot be able anymore to launch the game. Is starting, but after 10 seconds of splash screen, it crash with a generic ubisoft connect error.
    It's very strange because it stop work after something happen.. (game patch? windows update? gpu driver?). Don't know.
    I've tried a lot of solutions but nothing..

    Please fix as soon as possible.

    this problem has started on cant get passed flash screen with the yule tide update,working fine before update.
    ive only got c drive and been through all fixes available apart from reinstalling.
    any suggestions
    asus bios 2105 intel(r) pentium cpu g3258 3.2 ghz 2 cpu memory 8mb
    card 570 series

    @garyrcook update rienstalled no success still hangs on splash screen.thats it then everything tried now a dead game
