Consistent freeze then crash during 'Smashing the Compass'

PC.
During the springalds option, the game freezes then crashes, in different locations or scenarios, but consistently happens during the fight. I've reduced GFX quality settings, I've restarted...still happens. Game is now unplayable

I had this problem in this mission happen consistently with Ryzen 3600 and Radeon 6900xt. Freezing and crashing 20+ times after leaving springalds. After troubleshooting hardware I found the solution was to verify the games files. Right click the game in the Ubisoft connect interface and click "verify files"
