    Xbox Series X version.

Case of the missing ale: I got to the ale, I took it, and it said I had to return to someplace. I decided to take the boat there, so I placed it in the boat, but when I took control of the boat, the ale glitched out and vanished, with a new quest marker appearing far away and underground. (The marker moves, has no fixed point.).
I thought this was my error for doing the task wrong by placing in the boat. I thought maybe I was supposed to walk and figured I'd give it a few days and hope it respawned.
    But then...

    Cow Catcher:
did everything, a bit glitchy but worked fine up until returning. I make it all the way back to the cattle farm with the quest marker over the womans head, with the task to escort the dude back. He is right next to me, and we are both right in front of this woman, but I cant speak to her.
Something else odd I'd that it keeps saying that I must be anonymous. This didnt make much sense but I tried it. Hid in a Bush. Thought maybe he wanted to speak to her alone or something but no, he just hides in the bush with me.

So those quests are stuck. The other 3 I have done but I assume they allow you to keep doing them for the Yule Tokens. I am not positive, but I did win the drinking one and that is still showing so that's what lead to my assumption of those 3.

I like the decor and the idea but the quests are having issues. I do not know if this kid is going to continue following me or even if he can die. I will fast travel soon and figure that out I guess.

I hope that given the 16 days time limit left this issue will be resolved before it disappears.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Same with me on the Missing Ale...(PS4)...I get some Floating Waypoint way off to the West. I went there and it ended up being some Curse Shrine on a Hill....yes, I actually took the barrel there, placed it on a stone to look around and it vanished. Now I still see the waypoint at same location and can't get the event to trigger again.

Cows...I had no problem with them...

    Update...
Was able to get the cow quest done by accident. Got busy and didnt make it back to xbox until after the system turned off due to inactivity. The game put me back to the 4th cow, right after it had died. I was drunk in game, I keep randomly being drunk. But after trial and error trying to get kid to get out of the water, that quest finally did work and let me speak to woman.

So now it's only the Ale one I think. Possibly others if they were supposed to be completed once won.

I've advanced too far to go back to the ale save, so i don't want to undo any progress. I will check back to see if there are updates.

My marker just vanished as well. I got the cow one to work but it seems to have made the other one disappear. The "floating" marker is gone. Even after selecting quest.
I just selected quest to see if my boat would go to quest location, but it doesnt. So that didnt trigger it.

Maybe now that it's gone it may reset at some point?

Should you figure it out, would love to know how. Appreciate it.

@ashleysosa44 the "become anonymous" thing happened to me at least 5 times in the main game and forced me to reload a prior save and do those quests over. I did not bug out during the yule quests however. Though I have plenty of other issues like the quiver and missing three new skills and always starting drunk. And I believe they are related to incorporation of the Yule Festival and weird Ubi server issues. Ugh.

Cross Linking these threads as they seem to have identical issues: https://discussions.ubisoft.com/topic/90306/yule-festival-build-cattle-farm-building-bug/3?lang=en-US

The marker is wrong, but you need to take the barrel a little to the west.

When you pick up the barrel, and if you look at the mountains were you come from and that is north, behind you is the river (south), you need to go west.

The guy is waiting there on the shore with a boat, and you need to walk up to him to complete the quest.

(Directions can be wrong (north could be south), don't have the game open or remember where it was, but if you look at it from that pov, you should be good.)

If the barrel does not respawn, ... maybe they'll fix that, but i believe i actually saved as well after going with the barrel to some obscure place.
When i loaded back in i could trigger the quest again. (meaning the guy was on the cliff waiting)

Tl;dr- More of a rant, no solution below, just mention of a pop up that says I have 2 days left to earn and use my Yule tokens when I assumed (incorrectly it seems), that the 13 day timer on the quests themselves meant I had 13 days to fix this issue.

Playing today, the quests say they have 13 days left. I was hoping that would be enough time to fix the bugs, but then I just got a popup randomly warning me that the Yule celebrations end in 2 days.

So.... I have 2 days and not 13 days to find a solution, get the tokens, and reap the rewards or otherwise lose all that time and effort for nothing.

I was okay with waiting. I think my love for the series has me bias when it comes to issues, but this has finally [censored] me off.
I know that the timing for Yule didn't exactly line up with the ingame timing, but yule lasts 12 days, starting the 21st.

If it werent for covid, I would be livid right now because I would not normally be gaming on christmas and likely wouldnt have seen this new 2 days time limit until after it ended and I was back home.

Not happy. Need to put that time limit on pause til yall fix your mistakes or otherwise credit the people who have spent hours trying to solve these issues, writing and discussing on forums, blogs, etc.

Like a slap in the ubisoft, not cool.
"Here is a quest list. Look how festive we are, that's the spirit. Special rewards.... and It has 16 days to complete it....
oh but, ....not really because they dont actually work,
...and . ..oh by the way, did we say 16 days, nah, you have 2 left now, we were just kidding, your tokens will be obsolete in 2, so hope you figure out how to fix our mistakes before then, if not, oh well.... I mean, it was an extra, you can still beat the game, so not our problem."

Been faithful to this franchise since the beginning, and so this really sucks. I am finding more and more articles about these issues online, and will test them I guess and hopefully figure out a solution in 2 days.

@ashleysosa44 Just keep brawling, 70 tokens per brawl, you'll have all the rewards in no time.

    @lysvander

The problem is...guy is waiting by the boat not for all players and therefore they can't complete this quest. That's my case too actually - guy just stands at the cliff where Eivor found him first and I can't speak with him, nothing. I tried to take the barrel and lay it next to him at the cliff - pointless, no reaction. Tried to fast-travel, then pick up the barrel again and took it to the boat to where spoilers show Eivor should have taken it - guy doesn't appear, boat is empty, so quest does not counted as completed.
