Is there a prerequisite quest to open up Eurviscire for pledge? A yes or no answer will suffice. If it is a bug I will fire up another game in the interim.

I believe Hamtunscire doesn't open up until finishing an area to the south? Does this apply to Eurviscire as well?

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@nickfonseca For me, Eurvicscire was the 4th to last area, I had Hamptunscire, Glowescesterscire (?), Hordefyke, left to complete when I started Eurvicscire. Not sure if any of the others were prerequisite, but that was my experience.

You need to complete certain other areas first (I know you need to do Suthexe or however it's spelled, and possibly Jorvik as well). A lot of areas are "gated" by how far you are in the Eivor / Sigurd storyline, but there may be other prerequisites as well.

Hamtunscire is the very, very last region of the game - you have to finish everything else first.

@rankinsect Thank you! It has been so hard to get an answer to this. I really wasn't positive if it was a glitch or if it was intended. I started Suthexe but it seemed like I was missing something so I loaded a back save just in case. Since these games are such a time dump I didn't want to miss any of the story lines if there was a glitch; there is no way I was going to start the game over to get around it. I think this might be considered "not good" design as there is no feedback in game and being that glitches are very common there is no way to be sure if you are encountering a glitch or a designed part of the game. Looks like I can go ahead with Suthexe. Thanks!
