I have 54 hours into the game, 44% completed and now the game crashes constantly on 2 different computers. I can't play for more then 15 minutes or so and the game crashes. On my desktop it crashes so hard I typically have to reboot my computer. My laptop seems to recover better and doesn't need a reboot.

    Desktop - i7 8700k, 16GB of RAM, GTX 1070
    Laptop - i7 9750H, 16GB of RAM GTX 2060

Both computers are running Windows 10 64-bit Home and are up to date with patches. All drivers are up to date on both computers and no issues playing any other games (Division2, Destiny 2, Modern Warfare/BlackOps, World of Warcraft)

I tried pasting in my DxDiag for the laptop but it's too long.

    This is really frustrating.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@iainb78 Had the same issue on my desktop (I7-7700, GTX 1080). After some research decided that the issue is around memory management. Reduced my graphical settings so my RAM amount (as shown on "Screen" tab under Options) was no more than half of the total (i.e., 4000 MBs of possible 8000 MBs). I did that by dropping down to 2K from 4K and reducing shadows. That seems to have fixed the crashing.
This might be because of issues presented in the latest patch (Yule Festival bloat), changes to Ubisoft Connect (more bloat), or the fact that the save files become too large over time (additional bloat). Or it might be a memory leak.
Regardless, lowering settings to get me to half of the total RAM limit helped me. Maybe it will work for you until they can patch this thing up a bit more.

@maxos667 Thanks for the reply, I'll give that a shot!

I've actually had this problem for a few weeks, just now getting around to trying to get it fixed.

@iainb78 Well I did as you suggested. On my laptop (6GB of VRAM on the GTX 2060) I lowered some of the graphical settings down to get my usage below 50% and it seems to have worked.

Unfortunately shadows didn't move it down, I ended up having to lower the world clutter and world texture resolution but it still looks good and I played for over an hour without a crash.

    Thanks!

@Maxos667 I made the changes on my desktop as well and played for 5 hours without a single crash.

    Thanks again for your help!
