When Ubi announced their post launch roadmap, they promised River raids as a replayable game mode. What we got was a repetitive grindfest with long loading times and copy pasted enviroments that noone who finished the associated questlines ever wanted to return to. Later, we got Mastery Challenges, which had such strict requirements to get the gold medal that there was no reason to ever try to complete the challenge in any other way than the game wanted you to, so there is no incentive to ever replay them. Technically, we also have Reda contracts, but you can only complete two per day and there are like 4 different quest types so it's not really all that interesting, same goes for the contracts in Ireland and Francia. As of now, we don't have a single worthwhile replayable activity.
What we need is an arena. It should work exactly like the one in Odyssey, let us keep our own gear and give us arnea champions to fight. We need a place to test out our character's fighting abilities aside from just killing random soldiers in the streets. Give us a few waves of mob enemies to fight, then let us fight an arena champion, a reskinned Zealot or Lost Drengr would do. Adding like 7 or 8 of these would give us plenty to do to keep playing and replaying. Give us proper rewards for our victory, don't give us yet another currency to grind out, silver will do fine if you'll add something worthwhile to buy with it, new runes for instance. Noone cares about cosmetics for your ship or settlement and noone wants to see the next batch of reskinned armor or weapons. Implementing an arena would also be a lot less diffcult than the actual stuff we got as updates these past few months. River raids required 6 new maps in total, an arena on the other hand could be placed pretty much anywhere, just take one of the abandoned amphitheaters and let us go to town there.
