After fast traveling and returning over land to the location of the new runes, I can only see some fragments of the patterns, not as distinctive as before.
@hroozenbeek
Strange, looks like the same phenomena like @eL_T_US has!I cannot confirm until now.
Ok, test it also and after the 3th fast travel they disappear for me and only a small piece (~1/4) of the rune was visible, not the complete one.
That´s not so nice. Means for us, finding another ones will be very difficult!
So, these "new" runes are only painted on the cliff, not really engraved like the Odin´s Rune like @hroozenbeek also mentioned.
Additional, it looks really, that they completely full appear on an certain time / moment.
If they have a connection between the settlement and the standing stones, it could be that we will find more or less another runes, which are also connected to their certain standing stones.
But, where do it lead for us? What to do with this new information?
Do we have anything in connection to the Odin´s Rune?
I do not know.
@tchester1980 There is not much to connect the 'Standing Stone'-runes to the Odin runes, except for the proximity to rune nr. 2. If we would find more of these 'Standing Stone'-runes in close proximity to an Odin rune, then a connection would seem obvious. At the moment, I'm inclined to treat them as another phenomenon.
I think I know what we will get at the end of this, there is something called the odin sword.
@squzi3489 You mean the sword that Odin plunged into a tree, which Sigmund acquired and that his son Sigurd used to kill the dragon Fafnir (connected with the ring Andvaranaut, which we can find in the game)?
This sword has been confirmed to be a Sword of Eden (Isu-artifact) in an earlier AC game, see: Sigmund | Assassin's Creed Wiki | Fandom
@hroozenbeek
other Weapon skins were also here in AC: Valhalla.
A lot of Skins from Origin and also Odyssey are here in the game. Why not bring back the Skin of that sword from earlier AC game?!?!
@tchester1980 I don't think the actual sword has been featured in the earlier game I referred too. But that was not my point. I believe I have mentioned this sword before in this overly long thread and expressed the sentiment that it would be great if the sword was featured in Valhalla. I was merely asking @SquZi3489 if he had this particular sword in mind or another Odin's sword.
@hroozenbeek
Ah, ok. So. Time to finish for today. I mixed stuff up and do not get all the things.... See ya tomorrow
@el_t_us No need to take a boat or go into water, I think. I climbed the cliffs, cleared the bandit camp there for the nth time, and returned to see the runes as clearly visible as the first time I saw them.
Y’all need to ask Darby if the runes have something to do with the 9 realms
He confirmed before we were onto something on Twitter only once tho
@tchester1980
I honestly don't know yet.
I'm sure stars were used to navigate in Eivor's time so maybe identifying a pattern/path we need to take (while naked and drunk probably lol) will lead us to unlocking the runes. But I don't know...
They could just be trolling us to make solving this harder. Making a nothing look like a big something by making the runes/standing stones/alters have multiple commonalities.
If we make a map of the mead barrels it'll probably show us the Big Dipper
