Okay, I watched the video and it's supposed to be Younger Futhark, that's clear. 🙂 But not all of the runes we see here are part of the Younger Futhark alphabet, at least as far as I can make out.

I'm also trying (and failing) to make sense of the inscription in the upper part of the 'painting'.

@hroozenbeek I am having a difficult time as well. I'm wondering if anyone has created a "cheat sheet" of sorts for ACV?

@melarlo I don't know. There are many runic inscriptions all over Asgard, but the ones connected with the 'painting' with the Helm of Awe seem more relevant for us mystery-seekers than the others. @Acedyn22 suggested the 'painting' shows a "woman seer", but to me it looks just like Havi riding his reindeer:

I am better at interpreting elder futhark, but that isn't saying very much considering I am very rusty. My great-grandmother is 100% Norwegian and I can pick up on a few modern words and when I was younger I casted runes. It's not much help though, however I do think Dr. Crawford gives us a few clues on how to read the runes in Valhalla. Now he probably wasn't the only expert Ubisoft used, however in the video, he makes some pretty solid tips and references. Another theory I used is to rotate the runes or rearrange them like a gibberish word scrabble. I asked for outside help on the new runes that we have found. I will post their input and also my personal translation momentarily. We might be chasing our tails with this lead, but I figured it was worth a look at. I figure most people are out looking for the locations of Odin's Illusionary Rune in Midgard. I want to try to find other runes or symbols we may have missed.

A link to the Reddit article I posted asking help with translation of Younger Futhark/Old English Runes.
I was going to screenshot what they had had said, but my toddler took off with my stylus and I can longer screenshot anything without it 😭

    Okay I found something interesting...
At the East Anglia rune, when you step near it, it makes a sound. But there are other places around the area that also make that sound. I have found 4 so far. But the playing of the sound isn't consistent. I kept going to the spot I heard it, walk away and go back but couldn't reproduce the results. But for one I noticed something...if you run or walk over the spot in one exact direction, the sound plays 100% of the time. So I went to 2 more and after trying many different paths I found only one that has a 100% success rate. The rune activates the sound no matter what angle you come close to it, but you must leave it's immediate area and don't return for about 15 seconds to activate it again. Here's another thing..when a spot triggers the sound, another spot will not trigger until 15 seconds later, and you have to run across each spot in a certain direction, no other direction works. I'll try to make a video showing what I've found later.

So far I have found 7 places that make the sound (found 1 while I made the video lol), and the sound will only activate if I cross the spot in a certain direction. The wait time is not quite 15 seconds, but 10-15. The video is uploading, should be done in like 20 minutes (rural DSL).

@el_t_us The sound was debunked by quite a few people as being the Fly Agaric sound and not rune specific though. So I probably wouldn't spend much time on that aspect of it. So apparently even completely the Fly Agaric mystery doesn't prevent the associated sound for that area from playing is the issue. Haven't heard anything on a 5th (or more) rune yet nor any pic on the "gate" from the Hamtunscire location.

@theeelf Idk. I just watched a couple playthroughs of the Fly Agaric and none of the spots I found are in that hallucination. And the sound is different than the portals. Here's a video of the ones I found and the direction you need to go.

@acedyn22 I don’t understand what the developers were doing. Why take the trouble to get a specialist in Old Norse to get your runes straight (pun intended), when you apparently mess things up? Is that just clumsy, or intentional?

    @hroozenbeek

Any updates on the Odin´s runes or translation of the Asgard runes?

@tchester1980 Not as far as I know. The gist of it is that some runes do not belong to the alphabet (Younger Futhark) that is supposedly used, whereas the parts that can be read don't make much sense. Maybe they used real runes for parts of the game, but not in these specific cases. Whether or not this was intentional (a puzzle?), is pure speculation at the moment.

I apologize about the delayed response. I have a severe migraine that is rendering me to be useless. It K.O. of my gameplay and life last night. Truthfully, it's painful to look at a screen right now, so today will most likely be my last response. Right now it's probably best to put rune translation aside, and focus on finding the 5th rune. I am stating to think we only have one more to find and the reward will be a new amour set. Of course, it won't be that easy. I think @eL_T_US is onto something with the sounds and the illusionary magic like we used to find Angrboda in Jotunheim. Stellar work @eL_T_US!

Once this migraine is gone, I will get back in the game and do my part in looking for the fifth rune as well.

Good work everyone. Hope y'all have a good day.

I tried to connect all the 5 runes and got something interesting.
The distance between rune 1 and 2 is exactly the same as between 3 and 5.
And 1 and 5 is exactly the same is 2 and 3.
I'm not sure it's something that can help but I don't think it's a coincidence.

@an0l1 well... let’s check it. Where would a spot appear to the north of the 1-2 line? I’m up there already. Happy to check

@an0l1 It's striking, but the distances are not exactly the same. I seems to close to be a coincidence, but we'll see.

@hroozenbeek I was noticing the same thing. When I went to my pins on the interactive map and then took it to PowerPoint and used the same lines it was slightly off. There's another theory we are playing with that the runes are all in line with the norse compass design. Likewise, I'm struggling to get them exactly lined up. I think a 6th rune could once again help prove or disprove additional theories so we can try and narrow down our search.
