So got the game not that long ago I'm late to the party. How do you fish with the line? I can catch small stuff but I always break the line on bigger I try to control the fish but all it does is put tension on the line so either they get far away and get off or I break it any tips?

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@winky1926 I am not sure whether I am fishing "correctly", so the following may not be entirely helpful.

When pulling the line, I pull towards myself while countering the fish's motion. When it goes left, I pull down + right; when going right, I pull down + left.

Once the controller vibrates, it hints that the line is tight and I either stop pulling the line completely or only very mildly pull it.

@asgardian02 Others are asking for genuine help. Either you provide useful advice, or just go.

i am helping, it just doesnt suit you.

Many fish dont even show up and in general its just a pain.
If i had known this, i would have stopped fishing far sooner.

Just cos you dont like an answer or an opinion doesnt give you the right to act like an a##

@asgardian02 And just cos you don't like fishing doesn't give you the right to act like an a## when someone asks for advice. I don't know why you are even still playing this game as much as you whinge about it.

@asgardian02 You are the one acting like an a##. Just cos you don't like the game doesn't mean you should spoil the atmosphere for those who need help or enjoy the game. Just like just because you dislike a dish doesn't mean you should openly criticise the food or those who like it.

Please learn to be nice and better.

@winky1926 I simply stop pounding the "pull" button when I see the line start going dark red - that's pretty much all that I do. I've never really seen any difference when trying to "control" the fish on the line, it pretty much always comes to you regardless of anything in the way.

99% of the time, I catch the fish simply by standing there and mashing the "pull" button. I had one fish escape me today, and that was my first of of many I've caught in the past..

    @winky1926 Back on topic.
Try to stand a step landwards from the shore. Ideally from a little bay. Don't fish from piers.
The idea is the fish shouldn't get behind you, or even close to you. Fight is over when the fish hits the shore line.
Even little fish can make trouble when they get under the pier.

Just mash space, directions are useless.

same, every so often a few fish escape ( i think this is just some random calculation behind it), but for the rest its just holding S down and mash space like 100-200 times each time.

thanks to everyone not messing with the direction buttons is giving me far more success. They really didn't iron out the fishing in this game feels like it was shoehorned in. But thank you for helping everyone.
