What does it mean? It's a content limited in time only during the Yule season?
I thought it was there to stay...

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

"Prepare your Jomsviking crew for this new highly replayable mode ..."

Highly replayable and time limited are exact opposites ...... Ubisoft's propaganda ....er I mean marketing is even more ridiculous than the average government's ......

It's just something else I paid for and will miss out on because the game will most likely still be too buggy and broken to play ......

Yeah, even two hoard maps are still bugged, people wants it fixed, but in patch notes there is no mention about that. I do not like that.
And these Ubisoft hype, like it is not one, two, but three new maps. It does not matter how many maps they add, but how big they are, what content is in these maps and if they are without bugs....

@longjohn119 Maybe it's "highly replayable" during a limited time 🐷
Maybe we can chain river raids like no tomorrows for 2 weeks and then they will.... disappear. I hope not...

@smrtiak-svk True. Guess we'll have to wait for later today for knowing for sure.
What puzzles me, is the mention of "Yule content". I really hope it's not a temporary feature which will disappear after the "Yule season" (when does it end by the way?)
If I properly understood the whole concept of "Yule content". Not even sure.
This game is really a let down.

The yule season is the winter season. Ubisoft have based their post launch plan on the viking names for the seasons. So the yule season had the yule festival (which was timed) and now the river raids. The river raids are here to stay however as they're not a festival.

Maybe what we can loot from the River Raids will change per season, Valhalla likes to pretend to be an MMO, so that would not surprise me. Then for newer players, the only way to get that stuff would be via the Helix store or Reda; or they plan to auto-cycle them in future, so people would have to wait for that specific season to repeat.

@torfinr The fact that it says "New Game Mode" makes me believe this will be a permanent fixture to the game. This is based on my experience with The Division. Generally when Ubisoft calls something a 'game mode' it is meant to be permanent, timed content is generally referred to as 'an event'. The Yule Festival was 'an event', for example.
