I have been diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and I spent a disproportionate amount of time creating my lieutenant; even though the system is for large part purely cosmetic. In experimenting with the jormsviking system I created my hulking barbaric jormsviking covered in tattoos and with a beard to bring fear to the gods. It was of great surprise to me hours later when I noticed that my jormsviking had changed to a different gender and appearance.

I could not stomach it because the feature seemed so permanent so I replayed the 2 1/2 hours I had spent playing since crafting the character, because it would otherwise color my experience of the game every time I interacted with the feature. It was monotonous but I thought well worth it so it didn't constantly weigh on my mind every time I went raiding or interacted with that portion of the game.

Then it happened AGAIN - this time something like 14 hours in. I sincerely do not want to replay that much of the game for this ostensibly "minor" portion of it, but it constantly weighs on my mind "This isn't your character-this isn't your character- this isn't your character..." and is made worse do to the fact that it is due to no error of mine but of the oft-maligned issues with the autosave system or some other technical issue that has gotten less attention. I was very aware that the game made clear you could not change your jormsviking once created due to my knowledge of my own mental issues and was very careful because of it.

I bring this up because in river raiding, customizing my settlement, and generally returning to camp I am faced with this creation that is not mine, and although I try I cannot seem to move past it. I obsess over the fact that this lieutenant character which is supposed to be uniquely mine has nothing to do with me, and it is terribly distracting from the experience of an otherwise enjoyable game.

I do not want special treatment where I can change my jormsviking lieutenant whenever I want, all I want is the original character I created so I can enjoy the game without the constant distraction of feeling like i should start over at the initial barracks 14 hours ago so I can get the jormsviking I had designed back.

I know it seems small and insignificant for anyone who has never been diagnosed with OCD but it is a real and constant problem for me.

I only ask that I be allowed to revert to my original jormsviking design technology permitting, or if not to be allowed a single redesign (hell even though to me it is clearly a save game issue I would gladly pay money for the privilege [So long as this issue doesn't happen AGAIN] ).

I know VERY well that not being allowed to change the gender/appearance of your jormsviking is a feature not a bug, however it seems my avatar's gender/appearance was changed without my desire or consent. Please help me resolve this issue so I can enjoy the game without a constant mental distraction due to a very personal character appearance being taken out of my control.

Thank you in advance for a fun game and a quick response.

Hey there @fathplus0ne - thank you for posting here on the forums, and for providing this detailed account of the issue you are facing with your Jomsviking. I'm very sorry to hear that, when you are raiding with them or you see them, that they appear to have changed gender and appearance. I fully appreciate how, as you are an individual diagnosed with OCD, this kind of issue could be difficult for you to deal with. I am not diagnosed with such a condition myself, but have been described as meticulous by friends and family when it comes to certain activities, so can somewhat understand on a personal level how this must feel.

Do you perhaps have a video demonstrating the current appearance of your Jomsviking, and an image showing the original appearance you carefully crafted for them? Since your initial set-up, have you ever returned to the barracks to reconfigure your Jomsviking?

I'll do my very best to get this issue looked into for you if I can gather some evidence of the issue. We were aware of an issue with Jomsvikings where they previously could change appearance, however this was meant to have been fixed in the latest TU 1.1.2. If this is not the case, I'll gladly reopen the investigation with the evidence you provide and see if we can get to the bottom of this! Thanks. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for the quick and empathetic reply! I'm now hopeful this will actually get resolved which would be a huge relief. If this is not the medium to provide the information you asked for please let me know what would be a better place to provide it. Oh - and I am playing on Xbox One if that information helps you.

As to your question I had indeed returned to the barracks to tweak the Jomsviking's gear when I first made him. Similarly I have revisited the second Jomsviking to try and resolve the issue and play around with gear.

My original Jomsviking (Image is from an old manual save immediately after creating him and fiddling with his weapons):

After two-ish hours of raiding the Jomsviking changed to this (twice, although the second time I didn't notice until much later, as I mentioned):

Could you clarify what sort of video you need or are the images sufficient? Please let me know if there is any other information I could provide that might be helpful to you in resolving this. Thanks again!

EDIT: So apparently my "here are the images" response has no images. Bummer. I'm getting an error every time I try to post the images on the forum. Is there a trick to it I'm missing or should I send the images elsewhere?

Hey ubi-woofer I'm sure you're busy dealing with a bevy of other things, but I hope there's time to help me with my problem. Is there any more information I could give to make your job easier here?

I have the same problem, my jormsviking has just gender swapped. Has anybody found a solution or workaround yet?

Hey @FathPlus0ne, please accept my sincere apologies for the delayed response. Thank you for providing additional information, and for the images. I'll do my best to address everything you've said below; if you have any additional questions or concerns afterward, please let me know. ๐Ÿ™‚

You mention that you did return to the barracks to customise your Jomsviking after creating them. When doing so, did you update anything except the gear and armour he was wearing? Can you remember the precise changes you made?

Do you recall saving your game and reloading a save at any point during those two hours when the changes with your Jomsviking occurred? We have seen reports that reloading a save can reset a Jomsviking's gear, however in your case, it appears that you now have an entirely new Jomsviking, as the name is different. This is a different situation to what we already have reported, so I'd like to understand whether there are any similarities in how the changes may be triggered.

If you do recall saving, as mentioned above, would you be able to record a short clip showing you having made the Jomsviking exactly as you'd like them, saving your game at the barracks, reloading that save, and then checking if your Jomsviking still maintains the desired appearance or anything has reset / changed?

@FGx1988 - Can you please refer to all of my questions above, and answer them to the best of your ability? Please also confirm for me the platform you are playing on, and whether the name of your Jomsviking has remained the same even with the changes to their appearance. Thank you!
