Should be able to stealth assassinate all enemies including bosses. Not really much 'assassin" going on here. I really hate hack-in-slash games and key bashing boss fights.

@oternian Exactly. Passable game, yeah, I fired it up on PS5, as I needed something to play. But really, what you call 'Assassin' is a JOKE. Unless you use the "noob" setting for the NPC's, or a bow from bushes outside of the fort, you are seen and the game literally becomes a button mashing fest, which, if using a DAGGER, is a flacking JOKE! Stand in place, stabbing empty air 99% of the time, as you don't move foward trying to fight the NPC.
And where are the swords at?? I want a freaking sword w/ crit, +crit%, +Bow damage....
Your choices in weapons is very limited and you pigeonhole a player with the "buffs"....
So, IMO, game is "PASSABLE". Once SGWC:2 or ESO:Blackwood come out, this game is collecting dust. Not worth the trouble.
No where near an Assassin's Creed Game. Need to just call it, VALHALLA THE BUTTON MASHER!

@b00msie No, but at least with Odyssey the fighting was fluid. Not this, oh, NPC is out of reach, I'm standing here stabbing thin air, not I have to chase the mf'er down to TRY and stab him again....
And stealth was way better, aka, "teleport" spear assassin build wrecked every hold.
Here, I can't even get half a hold done when some tar.d see's me and it becomes: mash, mash, thin air, mash, block, thin air, thin air, roll, mash, mash, block, thin air, thin air, thin air, block, thin air, mash, mash...to infinity to clear a camp/fort/base....
As I said, IMO, this ISN'T AC...it's just an Rpg Hack n Slash w/ Viking "theme's"....

I do not have this problems at all with Valhalla. Valhalla is very buggy for me, but the whole fighting mechanism feels far more evolved. It is a bit easy, but not the button mashing like in Odyssey. In Odyssey you had to just hit the enemy a lot to beat them. In Valhalla you have to use different tactics for different enemies and can combine weapons and shields for even more tactics.
Also the stealth is improved a lot, although still not that good. In Odyssey enemies did sometimes not detect you at all and when they detected you, they all knew where you were immediately. In Valhalla they aim at the point they saw you last. If you keep moving, you can stealth assassin enemies very fast by circling around them. In Odyssey, they keep knowing where you were for some time without reason. Although in Valhalla they still are not very smart, because they ignore the screaming villagers completely, it feels improved over Odyssey. I also hated it you could be suddenly get beaten by an angry mob in Odyssey, while trying to help them. Civilians where often stronger then soldiers. But what I hated most was the useless button bashing in Odyssey, I really like what they did in Valhalla, I really don't get the comments about that. In Valhalla there are weapon/shield/fighting tactics, in Odyssey mostly armour skill combinations.
I agree, you can ignore the stealth and assassination part completely, which is a real shame.
