There are completionists out there (not everyone is) that were really looking forward to Ubisoft Connect. The word "connect" inherently made people think that old / new games would see integration (as was at least advertised for Odyssey).
Assassin's Creed has a massive backlog of titles. Many players came to the series beginning with Origins / Odyssey / Valhalla. With such a massive backlog wouldn't Ubisoft want to incentivize going back to those games (either for the first time or a revisit)? I foresaw a system where I could go back to the First Assassin's Creed, or maybe Odyssey, etc. and complete challenges to boost my achievement score to possibly unlock features in games old/new. Instead, Ubisoft gets rid of the challenges / gives away all of their rewards?
Now not everyone might like this...but Ubisoft...why did you eliminate a feature that gives players incentive to lose themselves in your games for hours/days/years?. I'm one of those players that joined at Odyssey. I would gladly pay you money to play your old games if it helped me unlock new rewards in app or in Valhalla. Again - not all are like me (I'm a completionist). Many can play old games without these trivial rewards...but in a world where time has become increasingly more valuable...it certainly helps.
I think there are a lot of people out there like me that would enjoy having the entire Assassin's Creed catalog filled with challenges that unlocked either rewards ingame or in more current Assassin's Creed Games. Such an easy / obvious move to make your expansive historical catalog relevant again.
