I feel like Ubisoft missed some opportunities with orphans that we can't adopt. Eivor just leaves children alone in the middle of nowhere to fend for themselves.
Eivor should really feel bad for abandoning orphans, especially since Eivor got taken care of as an orphan by the Raven Clan.
There should have been an orphanage in Ravensthorp or any other major city where you could take the children. These orphans could become the future vikingr that would join Eivor on raids.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Leaves children alone in the middle of nowhere.

I know the quest you are talking about. Don't take this writing personally. Or seriously.

I actually think the writing in this game is better than the previous game because people die unexpectedly all the time in this story. They do some pretty crazy stuff in this game. Unpredictability in writing is great. You want to be blindsided by dysfunctional family choices, bad decisions, and death. Being surprised, annoyed, shocked, these are all good feelings. That means the writer is doing a decent job.

So Eivor doesn't adopt lonely kids. That may be strange to you, but a lot of people abandon their own children. Why should Eivor be obligated to take in every kid that he comes across in this game. What about the girl sitting under the leafless tree? Does she not qualify? You can't just march around England adopting everybody. That would be crazy. It's almost more sane to be an assassin.

You can always play a game like Hogwart's Legacy and expect everyone to survive that adventure. Bunch of do-gooders walking around casting spells and saving children. But what a miserable and predictable experience that would be.
