I noticed that Tove stays in the same place in Ravensthorpe. I can always talk to her (no special dialogue) but she never comes back to the tattoo shop...

In my save, I have already completed the quest "Carrying the Torch" some time ago.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Howdy, @taurodon! Thank you for reaching out. Our team is currently investigating this issue with Tove not returning to the Tattoo Shop. For clarification, during which quest did Tove first go outside, and also what is the most recent quest you completed?

I don't remember which quest the problem started. It's been a few days for me now.
After I noticed the problem the first time, I just kept playing without worrying about it.
I thought maybe it would resolve itself.

Here are some hints I can give you :
    - I had already built the tattoo shop
    - I had already done the "Carrying the Torch" quest ( spoiler, and she was staying there as planned)
One day, the problem appeared. She stays away from the shop.
I can always ask her to do tattoos, but she doesn't go back to her shop anymore.
She stays in the middle of the road for no reason.
    - I just kept playing and completed several quests
    - I left and came back to Ravensthorpe several times
    - I have restarted the game several times
    - lately, I've been doing quests in Lincolnshire
"In the Absence of an Ealdorman" is the last quest of this region that I finished before deciding to report this bug.

Finally the problem is still there.

Thank you for that information, @taurodon! To clarify, have you completed the Jotunheim quest arc as well? Also, do you have any previous save files that you could attempt to load to see if Tove returns to the shop?

I haven't started Jotunheim at all. (and I haven't done Asgard but I have the "In dreams..." quest active in my quest list)

I just checked my save files.
In my oldest save file, I had not yet started the Lincolnshire region. I also had not taken the starting quest "A Noble Escort" with Randvi.
The bug with Tove was already in this save file. Reloading an older save file doesn't fix the bug for me.

I should mention that I always do the regions in order of power level.

So I don't have any save file from before the problem appeared.

Oh okay! Thank you for checking those other save files for me, @taurodon! Our development team was able to reproduce this issue and they found that Tove returned to her shop after they completed the Jotunheim arc. I suggest that you progress to this point, and then let me know if the issue persist. If Tove still does not return, please capture a video showing your quest log, along with Tove outside by the longhouse, so that I can forward it to the developers for further investigation.

Can you confirm that Tove's behavior is an issue ?
Why do we have to finish the Jotunheim arc to have it fixed ?
Will it be fixed in a next update ?

Unfortunately, I didn't plan to do Jotunheim right away. I wanted to keep the Jotunheim arc towards the end of the game...
And I'm still pretty far from it.
I don't want to ruin my enjoyment of the game just to check on the progress of this issue...

Correct, Tove's behavior is a known issue @taurodon. I assure you that the Valhalla development team is working to address this issue with a more permanent solution in the future, however, in the meantime progressing through the Jotunheim arc has been the only discovered workaround. I am sorry I do not have any further information at this time, but once more information is available it will be posted here on the discussions page. I hope that helps!
