There seemed to be some thought in this thread that the old forums might be taken down sometime soon rather than left up in read-only mode. Is this the case?

Many of the posts there are not archived in archive.org's Wayback Machine, so it appears this might remove a lot of this information entirely. Much of the information isn't a huge loss, of course, but there are some still-releveant and fairly deep analyses there into which people clearly put a lot of time and work.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@categorytheory Most likely just hidden or read only, they didn't say deleted with the sudden change and many other forums are still using hte old format, heck you can still find the hidden PTS forums by googling them, if PTS forums are not deleted then the others will probably stay up, i would absolutely hate to lose all my previous gear set and specializations suggestions

I imagine at some point, yes, but not anytime soon.

With time, the information stored on there would also be more and more irrelevant, would it be a huge waste after a year or two?

Let's put it this way, Ubi forums have migrated platforms before, and the old links no longer exist. It's just a question of when that'll happen.

Wish could go back to previous forum software.

In all honesty if the regular forum members decided to create their own Division 2 forum I would line up for that.

But then no point if there is no sequel or further content in future.

Much less engagement since new forum in play now.

    And....
what would we do there without all the valuable customer care we have here ?

who would then listen and report our complaints to a dedicated and passionate team of devs that treat them like gold?

    we cant live without that!!!!!!

    ohhh wait...
