    Hello,

I started a new game of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. I'm still in the Norway portion of the game, and I've tried different optimization settings for graphics. Today, while playing, everything seemed to be running well until I encountered this texture on this rock.

I'm very concerned that this may not be related to the game itself, but rather my graphic settings or possibly hardware. A few days ago, I had another strange encounter while playing. The game stopped, it took me to a "green screen" that told me my PC ran into an error and will restart. When it started it up, it told me the CPU overheated. I immediately went into my BIOS and restored optimized settings. I cleaned out the inside of my case, got some dust out of there and started monitoring my CPU & GPU temperatures. They were still running a bit warm during gameplay for Assassin's Creed, but no different from any other graphic intense games I've played.

I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is a possible hardware issue or something in-game. So far, I've only seen it in that one spot of the game.

    Here are my specs:

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (Installed on Samsung 960 EVO Series - 250GB PCIe)
    CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-8700K @ 3.70GHz
    Cooler: CRYORIG H7 Tower Cooler
    GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 11GB GDDR5X
    RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ 3000 MHz 16GB - 2 X 8GB
PSU: Seasonic FOCUS Plus 80+ Gold 750W
MOBO: ASUS Z370 ROG Maximum X Hero
    CASE: NZXT H500i

Game is installed on: OCZ Technology 128GB Agility 4 Series SATA 6Gb/s SSD, and it is the only thing installed on there

If you have any insight on what the issue could be, I'd be very grateful.

    Thank you,
    Halcyonrift

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Hello @halcyonrift, I'm sorry to hear about these graphics and CPU issues you've encountered. Could you please let me know if these graphics issues started to occur around the same time you had experienced this CPU issue? Also, I would recommend trying out these troubleshooting steps to see if they can resolve these issues.

@ubi-mercury They started yesterday. I only started playing the game a few days ago. It is only in one location so far.

    @ubi-mercury

Update: I had a friend check the same location on PS4 and this graphic glitch was there as well. It is not my system, it is within the game. This issue is resolved.

    Thank you.
