@Ubi-Woofer @UbiQuB3
So as others above have stated - new patch notes but this bug isn't even within. There are two possibilities
If this is the level of pride you put into the game and the dedication you give to serving the gamerbase which paid for the game (as well as your other Helix store items), then you are lacking. Sorely lacking.
I've been playing AC since AC1, have gone through ups and downs, but this is the first time I see the dev team so unwilling to investigate player reports and indisputable evidence. Why, for the love of all that's good, do you simply not bother?
Do you need us to reiterate? The Mari Lwyd cloak appears and is stuck on Eivor even after the Glowecestrescire arc, outside of Glowecestrescire (definitely not intended). It is on in Asgard, Jotunheim, Norway and the rest of God's good land of England. It appears in the tattoo shop screens and in cutscenes and when the cloak (whichever - Brigandine, Galloglach, Thegn etc) is unequipped as an armour item, the ugly as heck horseskull gets forced onto Eivor's face. You tell me if that's intended.
Can you goddamn fix this already?
@ubi-woofer if you've read the posts, there was more anger than speculation. From what we as gamers have noticed, all the devs are doing is pushing out paid content (with some of them bugged to heck like the Premium Starter Pack) and putting priority there instead of fixing the main product. You guys seem more interested in making a quick buck off us than actually giving us a great gaming experience i.e. what we paid - some of us through the nose - for. AC: Valhalla is by far the most buggy game we have seen, and makes Odyssey look like a saint; it's an absolute disgrace when a last-gen game plays better and smoother than a current-gen game, where supposedly technology and know-how have evolved to help you make less mistakes. Yet all Ubi is keen on doing is making us pay for more stuff when all we want right now is a fix. Devs from other companies push out fixes all the time aside from official patches. So what we don't understand here is why the devs in this company choose not to bother, and would rather put in time and resources into making new, buggy, paid content.
Let's not even talk about the level of effort put into this game which is already buggy like an infested mattress - that's a done deal and shame on Ubi. Let's now put the focus on the here and now, where the devs create new content and push it out for US to test it - yes, that's what we are doing, testing your game - and then fixing it later. Money first, game later. We are game testers and not even paid for it. Look at the state of the Yule content you pushed out. Bugs everywhere - it's almost like it was an intern's pet project that didn't go through QA.
The moral of the story is - you need to get your rightful [censored] together and get fixes out fast. Gamers are angry - gamers who have been your customers for years. If this is how you treat paying, faithful customers, there is something seriously wrong with your management.
@cnnryng GoW has not "had two years to fix bugs". It came out, at the outset, much cleaner and more polished with fewer bugs. It did not have a ton of packs for you to buy, all while delivering a mess of bugs and glitches the devs are slow to fix. I don't recall there being a ton of complaints as to the smoothness of GoW, or the presence of game breaking bugs either. So the devs were either lucky, or they just did a much better job at, well, their damn job.
Good for you that the game runs spectacularly well on XSX. However, as you can tell from the hundreds of posts on this thread, it does not run "spectacularly well" for many people.
Hi @Ubi-Woofer this is absolutely ridiculous by now. December the 8th and this issue is still not under investigation by the devs? How much more evidence do you need? Is it that difficult for the devs to just look into this and trust that their gamerbase is not taking the [censored] at them?
Still nothing from the devs or Ubi Support lol. And a patch is rolling out soon. What a joke this has been.
So Ubi seems more preoccupied with pushing out Helix Store packs than fixing the base game.
Look, these armours look great. But I am not going to spend a single cent on them until I can SEE them when cloaked, instead of a horse skull. Capische?
@Ubi-Woofer
This is so immersion breaking it is absolutely ridiculous. You have a ton of badass looking hoods in the game only for them to be replaced with this disgusting Samhain costume.
It's worth noting that even after the entire arc in Glowecestrescire, I could still go back and knock on doors in broad daylight in the glitched Mari Lwyd cape and get moldy cheeses for completing rhymes. Not sure if that's intended. Heck, a lot of things seem to be "intended" but I guess the road to glitch-heck is littered with good intentions eh?
Does anything even get done around here? The posters have uploaded pics, videos, game saves for testing, and STILL Ubi Support is still asking for more information? Would you only believe it if God himself came down and told you to keep up? No updates, no response - nothing from Ubisoft support or the devs. Could you imagine how annoying it is to have that stupid skull appear on Eivor's face every time he pulls up his cloak? Have you even TESTED the game saves uploaded by the posters?
Best bet would be to give up hope about this and drop the game until Ubi decides to fix it.
As you can see the main thread for this bug has ballooned to about 200+ comments and Ubisoft Support either gives stock responses or refuses to provide an update.
I have this issue as well. I think the problem arises when fast travelling outside of Glowcestrescire during the region's story arc after you obtain the cloak, then fast travelling back. I did that, and noticed that the cloak was awarded to me as an item. I didn't think much of it, and behold I got the bug.
Now when I enter my tattoo screen, the Mari Lwyd cloak is still there. I tried changing cloaks, stripping Eivor, re-clothing him, fast travelling, pulling up and down the hood outside of Glowcestrescire, and still no luck.
This is extremely immersion breaking. I hope there is a fix coming soon.
@alphagoose46219 yeah it simply doesn't make sense. You're carrying around a sword the size of a grown man and it's taking way too many swings to down a basic grunt. The attack and damage numbers don't match up.
I think the greatswords need to be rebalanced. I am doing more damage per hit with daggers and axes than with greatswords.

New patch dropping on the 14th, and a fix for this bug appears to be included.
Fingers crossed that it works.
@cnnryng it's a rightful mystery, that is. The dev team is remaining annoyingly silent.
@b00msie so it seems the bug is more insidious than it first appeared. Just by simply travelling to Glowecesterscire the cloak has a chance of being forced onto Eivor? [censored]?
Ubisoft, tell me now why you thought this was a good idea for this to be "intended"?
@cortlandia it's theoretically possible but the question is more of whether you "should" rather than "can". All those hours going to waste, all those resource and silver grinds starting over - all to circumvent a bug that Ubi is putting its head into the sand about.
@UbiExcellent communication from the developers has been sorely lacking. For a company this big and this long in the business, this is frankly quite unacceptable and shocking. You guys were on-the-ball for Odyssey, while for this, you seem to have dropped the ball completely. No updates on what you guys are working on, no tweets on the main account acknowledging the bugs people are facing, no information on timelines for patches or fixes.
Look, we understand times are tough. We are fine with waiting. But surely someone in your team is responsible for clear, frequent communication? What's with the secrecy? Why only communicate when rumours and reddit users bring things to light? If anything, there's even less excuse for the lack of communication in times like these, seeing as everything is going increasingly digital and off-site due to the pandemic. It's not as if you can only communicate via pigeons where the coops are at your office. It definitely seems this way now.
It's ridiculous that right now, the only reliable and frequent source of information on the game is gotten not from the company itself, but smatterings of whispers on the Internet and a single YouTube channel. You guys tell us to refrain from speculation, but right now, speculation seems to be the only reliable source of information, and it's making you guys look like a [censored]-poor company ripping off its consumers with item pack after item pack but saying (perhaps even doing) absolutely nothing on the sorry, sad state of the base game.
Is everyone at Ubi right now living under a rock? You guys are a publicly traded multinational corporation with the resources to invest in communication with your main customer base which you depend on to survive. Yet we are hearing precious little from your end.
TL;DR - What's your [censored] problem?
