Is there 4k texture support?
The game eats away more than 7Gb of GPU RAM at max settings, while it looks like a PS3 game.
Even RDR2 takes less GPU RAM @4K with max settings and looks more than 10 times as nice with the same fps.
It makes me wonder where that GPU RAM goes to, since the textures look 720p or in some occasions 1080p.
(latest drivers btw)
But besides this issue, it is a great game.

I managed to make the nights look more immersive by using reshade and lowering the ingame brightness. Unfortunately I have to raise the brightness again during daytime to make the latter look bright enough. The moon has way too much brightness in vanilla gameplay, making the nights look like cloudy afternoons.
There was also an overall fog like appearance in vanilla that makes the game look washed out (with and without hdr). I got rid of it to create better colors and contrasts. I also reduced the vanilla oversaturation of the colors, like the bright glowing trees for ex.
Now it is way more enjoyable to play like this. City lights and stars stand out more in the distance. The game has a very good view distance. If you look closely you can see lights very far away.
The images were taken at 4K 'without' hdr and rescaled to 1920x1080 for the night pics. They had to be <2MB on this forum.
I also added 3 daytime shots scaled to 1024x576 to maintain file size requirements.
(aspect ratio was kept for all pics).
Let me know what you think.
(contrasts and colors might vary depending on your monitor and its settings.)
Do you think nights should look like this? Should they add a realistic night option in the options menu like they did with Breakpoint? I believe they should.
(Such an option was one of Breakpoint's best additions I have to say)
I thought it was a cloudy afternoon, until I realized there where stars in the sky...
We need the 'option' like in GRB, so players who don't like it can still turn it off. I doubt this would be hard to do as it would just require tweaking the moon light source only and a menu option. The sun is fine.
During night I lower the brightness to 1, which makes the nights look better, but still not ideal. During the day I turn it back up.
It is nice to see a dark night and all the lights of towns or cities in the distance.
A darker setting makes skulking over rooftops at night way more immersive. Like a stealth game should be.
I also use reshade to lower the ridiculous vanilla oversaturation of the colors.
