With all the great work the dev team has done so far, this could be a simple feature with a nice pay off that makes a lot of us happy. The best part about having a FOV slider is everyone is happy.
We can change it or not change it to our hearts content. We already know that if you increase it's value it will impact the game performance but that should be the player choice so a simple warning
next to the option would suffice. I mean come on guys a lot of other developers understand that this is an important feature in consoles as well so they add it on their titles you have Shadow of war,
red dad redemption 2, gta 5, battlefield 1 and so on. Let's hope it will be the same case with Valhalla.
And as you all know the camera is one of the most critical things in a game, so this zoomed out camera during combat turn Valhalla from a beautiful outstanding, immersive looking game into a cheap
ugly looking mmo game and that's an instant immersion breaker, your previous installment Origins nailed everything the field of view the camera perspective in both exploration and in combat but
Odyssey just annihilated it was just a mess, the camera so far and so high from the character he looked like an ant and during combat it looked like a drone shot.If you could go here
https://www.reddit.com/r/assassinscr...&restrict_sr=1 or in any valhalla gameplay on youtube you'll see how many people complain about the camera other than that the game looks outstanding.
If we could disable that zoom out camera during combat or gave us an option like you did with Breakpoint in mars update (the camera sets) that would be phenomenal.
So please listen to our feedback and let us enjoy this wonderful game you made in the best way possible. Cheers
@adkogz7 This is the most important feature and this problem should be a priority and needs to be fixed asap.
And here's an example of how many people are bothered and complaining about the camera prespective
So please ubisoft add an option for camera distance.
@adkogz7 Yep this is absolutely a game changer. Assassins creed is all about immersion and great stories and this far combat mmo games looking camera that odyssey introduced is just disengaging, ugly, cartoonish and an immersion breaker and Ubisoft as you can see over here https://www.reddit.com/r/assassinscreed/search/?q=camera&source=recent&restrict_sr=1 you'll see how many people complain about the far camera during combat other than that the game looks gorgeous. We hope you'll do something about that cheers.
@dbgager You must be playing a different game then, i have played every Assassin's creed game even bloodline on psp and never had any problem regarding the camera perspective and distance , the camera work kept improving from title to title, when it reached origins ubisoft nailed it, how the camera zoom in when you walk slowly to how it zoom out when you climb really tall buildings and zoom out only by little bit when you engage with multiple enemies in combat. But odyssey sets the camera so high and further from the character in exploration and zoom out even further in combat that it looks like diablo. And now Valhalla sometimes in battles the camera seems to move even further away than Odyssey which was already bad.
@rumenrs I'm playing on ps4 slim and i find the graphics and visuals are the best in series, the story is amazing so far with it's dark and serious tone and some funny quests here and there compared to Odyssey where it was most of the times just kids story, jokes everywhere even cringy sometimes, the combat is grounded, weighty, aggressive and the enemies are not damage sponges compared to the previous game, the hidden blade is back, the assassins are back, horse mechanics are improved while they were downgraded in odyssey, the loot is meaningful, the side quest are not just copy pasted, each location is unique unlike odyssey. This game feels familiar like I'm back to assassin's creed the title I've missed since Origins this is what odyssey should've been. So far i have not encountered any bug or whatsoever for my 6 hours playthrough the cape is fixed, the facial animation are polished and the game is looking phenomenal. My only issue though is the camera distance during battles sometimes it's just soo far away i really hope ubisoft give us an option to adjust it in the next patch and a field of view option in consoles there's already countless games that have this feature in consoles.
And my apologies if i was harsh about Odyssey.
@morganfreeman_3 This is exactly what the raids are lacking, i wanna add something else about the AI it needs some serious work sometimes they just stand there weapon drawn and they start staring at you it's creepy.
@jpabenites If they wanna add it they should do it as an option, do not force it on everybody.
For me personally i feel for the first time that the loot is meaningful and each weapon is unique for my 22 hrs playthrough i found 4 axes 1 knife 1 spear and 1 flail as for the armors i already got all part of the huntsman set apart from the cloak and i'm loving it, i dont need another odyssey where almost every enemy i slay i get some gear. That simply remove all the excitement of getting a new weapon or armor and nothing was special or rewarding only temporarily useful.

@ubichem So many options and yet one of the most critical things is absent, the camera during combat is sooooo far from the character it's less engaging and an immersion breaker and if you check over here https://reddit.com/r/assassinscr...&restrict_sr=1 you'll see that not 5 or 10 or a 100 person complaining about this problem but thousands and that gotta say something. So an option to disable the camera zoom out during combat is highly appreciated and will make this game a 100 times better.
One more thing please please add the field of view option in consoles as well, so many games already have that feature in consoles Shadow of war, Gta5, Red dead redemption 2, Ghost recon, Battlefield 1, Cold wars and so on. I know that changing the field of view may affect the performance but that should be the player's choice. Thank you.
