Most challenges require killing every singe enemy in specific way. That would not be a problem if the content wasnt super buggy or enemies didnt constantly kill themself.
Odins cave is just pure torture. In melee challenge half of the time charge does no damage to enemies pinned to the wall, so you can easily run out of adrenaline and have no choice but to restart. In archery challenge some enemies standing on destructible platforms sometimes destroyed them with their own arrows. And final banner carrier loves to just set himself on fire with his own bombs. I've lost count how many times I had to restart that because something stupid just happened.
Point is, even gold medal target needs to allow some small room for random crap like this.
It takes too much time not because you own too many DLC but because this game uses stupid design to implement its post-launch content.
There are currently 22 addons. And each of them have to be checked for availability (which is often just a flag based on their public release day). Most of those addons are helix store crap. They still have to be checked even if you didnt purchase their "content".
Load times can certainly be optimised by merging those old smaller addons into bigger chunks.
Because devs are trolls, thats why.
I also want to ask why there is slipstream from ghosted players in time attack events. In time attack racers are racing against time, not other racers directly, its in the name after all. Racing simultaneosly with ghosted players is gameplay convinience to save real world time. Nothing more, nothing less. Its meant to imitate split start (inability to interact with other racers by crashing or blocking) without actually consuming extra time. Yet that inability to interact somehow has limits in this glorious game. Because ghosted slipstream exists. A magic invented of Ivory Tower devs.
If you enjoy PvP modes and competition my advise to you: run as far as you can from this game. I knew I would if i didnt invest so much time that I dont just want to throw away. But even for me its getting increasingly harder to justify playing this garbage joke of a game.
Current weeks summit gives laughable ammount of summit score pomts for skills (in 5-25k range instead of usual 120-150k).
Is this intentional or bug?
Personally I dont mind if its intentional, I always disliked how skills are implemented in summits and want them to be gone. But I still want to know.
I finished with all golds today too. Other shrines were more bearable. But "bearable" is still very far from "good". There are way too many bugs. Like that bash skill for example. Since its lv2 its supposed to have an extra finisher if its target survives wall hit with a bit of health. But I've only seen it trigger once while doing those challenges. So in the end I realized that I dont need a wall hit kill, I started to bring enemy health to almost 0 and then use skill on them, killing on contact. Finding workarounds for bugs should not be a part of "skill" challenge.
Yes, some challenges arent 100% strict, Like that bear challenge with fire and fall kills, it lets you fail on 2 enemies and still get gold. It feels like they were designed by different people. Some were much more sensible than others. Really, [censored] with aerial assassinations in a cave. I ended up doing most of them from little objects such as torch sticks. Another thing I believe any good skill challenge should do is to teach players usefull game mechanics. Aerials in a cave is the opposite of usefull. Just as using bash (or any other skill) on an almost dead enemy.
Random enemy deaths is just a dice roll, and its bad no matter how you look at it.
I have no problems with aiming because I play AC with keyboard+mouse and hitboxes are super generous. But weak points on archers are stupid. When they get weak point on right arm its often blocked by their entire body or bow. But you can still hit it if you aim just a few pixels off enemy model but somewhere close to invisible weak point location. Shooting air to hit weak points basically. Thats how dumb hitboxes are in this game. And they've made an entire challenge based on this. 2 challenges in fact.
Also whats up with repeating challenges. There are only 5 shrines but many challenges are repeated twice.
I cant make my stupid horse gallop with keyboard+mouse (this action is assigned to its default - "shift") after installing newest update. Sprinting on foot (which uses the same button) still works. Gallop also works with xbone controller, but I prefer kb+m for AC games and dont wont to relearn controls due to this silly bug.
It seems to me that last 3 summit designs (choice of skills, events, vehicles, weather and color filters) were fueled by pure hatred towards living beings. Maybe they just hate life and express this that way.
You might want to check on your co-worker before something happens.
Valhalla at release seemed to be the best "new AC" out of the 3 games released. But now I think its the worst.
First, big paid DLC. Both origins and odyssey had expansions that dealt with AC lore and both games 2nd expansions had mind-blowing locations. In valhalla those are just 2 more side sagas. And while Ireland had some unique terrain France looks and feels like yet another part of England.
Then repeatable quests in those DLC. Just why? 2 different systems but both are much worse than odyssey merc contracts. In odyssey you had more variety in tasks and destinations but most importantly - they always started with a story, and there were a lot of different stories. In Valhallas Paris DLC I've lost count how many times I was asked to wipe a convoy in the same exact spot just to gain enought resources to buy armor set and all new runes. Who asked for this? Did we really trade actual side quests for this crap? Odyssey provided both, there was no trading one thing for another.
Then comes free content. In Odyssey they added a new big quest chain every few weeks. And their quality was suprisingly very good. What does valhalla add? Mindless grind. Boring events with almost no story but with tokens grind. River raids that are all about grind. Mastery challenges where you fight against bugs and unpolished game systems.
And finally microtransactions. There is more of this crap than ever. And its more impactfull than ever.

Last time you've been complaining about car nerfs it was you who nerfed your own car. You've messed badly with pro settings, reduced top speed and acceleration by tuning diff distrib to forward wheels.
Devs dont nerf specific cars.
In early 2020 hypercars were moved to updated handling model. This resulted in decrease of redline speeds for most of them. But overall performance of all cars became much better.
With the same update hypercars became too fast offroad even without specific "muddy" gear. This was later fixed. Now hypercars offroad are about as fast as they were at game's release (if we dont abuse hill frog leaping with air nitro, or some other, presumably fixed, exploits).
And thats it, there were no other changes since then. For example Bugatti LVN was released in late 2020 after all those changes and it stayed the same for 2 years.
Right, flat 10% on a platform would only make score cutoffs differ even more.
PC's "problem" is that its more competitive by its very nature. Something devs clearly ignored. Also "manual+shifter" is a lot easier to exploit on PC than other platforms that dont get easy access to macro creation. Its not a requirement, I do just fine with auto. But it certainly affects overall scores.
IMO fixed score requirements should be implemented instead. This would also remove frustrating unpredictability for players who usually end up being close to cutoff scores.
Its impossible for me to do that since Im already at level 50.
But its not something that happens to only some players. This is how the game works for everyone. Get a few motorpass levels at once (very easy to do with current "challenges" that only require you getting a tiny bit of followers - another issue btw). Open motorpass menu and just look. If you get any currency packs - you'll see counters increasing instantly. If you get any gear parts packs - you'll see "loot sent to mailbox" instantly. Before you press "collect" or "collect all" buttons. Those buttons are "cosmetic" and only advance the list of items game already autocollected for you the moment you opened motorpass menu.
But this isnt the core problem. The core problem is that there is no check if mailbox is full BEFORE game attempts to autocollect gear parts. There is such a check with summit rewards tho.
a video example of this behaviour when attempting to 'Claim All' in the mailbox? As this doesn't appear to have been raised to us yet.
When player gets enough motorstars to advance multiple levels opening motorpass menu gives multiple rewards. This is expected bahavior.
But all rewards are in fact claimed instantly upon opening motorpass menu. This is especially obvious with CC and bucks currency packs because you can see current counters on screen.
THEN game shows player a popup window with new rewards and 2 buttons. Claim - shows next reward, Claim all - closes popup window. Both buttons are entirely "cosmetic". All rewards are already claimed at this point, without player pressing any of them. Or in case with gear parts and full mailbox - sent to the nearest black hole.
Summit rewards claiming has a failsafe against this, it wont let you claim summit rewards with full mailbox. Ideally motorpass needs to get something similar.
For example it should deny access to motorpass menu when mailbox is full and display an error message with an option to teleport to HQ near mailbox.
inb4 someone suggests to verify game files.
Episode 1 of Live series is game's prologue. Just like all 4 families trials it cant be replayed. It doesnt appear in events list and doesnt count towards completion percentage.
Grand Finale is what you are missing most likely. This event is unlocked by beating all 4 racing family rivals events. Which in turn are unlocked by completing at least 50% of corrensponding family activities. If you have all 4 "ultimates" (McLaren P1, Vulcan, helicopter and XT3 hovercraft) you should have this event appear on the list.
No, its not a bug, Just design oversight. Summit rewards claim checks if mailbox is full. But with motorpass there is no way to bypass claim attempt after opening motorpass menu. At least you didnt lose anything that cant be replaced, those parts arent boosted.
Adding proper weekly challenges instead of autocomplted followers like in this episode - fine
Making motorpass longer to complete - hell no
Games are supposed to be fun. Doing those dumb dailies every day isnt fun at all.
And considering motorpass content is permanently missable once episode is over, there should be a big margin for those who dont want to "play" (doing dailies isnt playing without "") the same game every day.
American Legends was by far the most enjoyable seasonal content drop for me. For once there was a good reason to drive around and explore the map. And most 8 and 12 steps stories were actually good.
Yea, having more new events is nice. And new tracks are good. But again you underuse TC2's main selling point over other racing games. Huge map. Why is this so hard to understand? TC1 had a lot of long events. TC2 really has only one and its length is a joke compared to some TC1 missions.
In the meantime keep adding new stories. Maybe not as often as American Legends season, not every week. But this type of content should not be abandoned after just one season.
