Most challenges require killing every singe enemy in specific way. That would not be a problem if the content wasnt super buggy or enemies didnt constantly kill themself.
Odins cave is just pure torture. In melee challenge half of the time charge does no damage to enemies pinned to the wall, so you can easily run out of adrenaline and have no choice but to restart. In archery challenge some enemies standing on destructible platforms sometimes destroyed them with their own arrows. And final banner carrier loves to just set himself on fire with his own bombs. I've lost count how many times I had to restart that because something stupid just happened.
Point is, even gold medal target needs to allow some small room for random crap like this.
It takes too much time not because you own too many DLC but because this game uses stupid design to implement its post-launch content.
There are currently 22 addons. And each of them have to be checked for availability (which is often just a flag based on their public release day). Most of those addons are helix store crap. They still have to be checked even if you didnt purchase their "content".
Load times can certainly be optimised by merging those old smaller addons into bigger chunks.
Current weeks summit gives laughable ammount of summit score pomts for skills (in 5-25k range instead of usual 120-150k).
Is this intentional or bug?
Personally I dont mind if its intentional, I always disliked how skills are implemented in summits and want them to be gone. But I still want to know.
Almost everything is stored on Ubisoft server so you didnt lose anything.
Stuff that is saved locally: some game settings (like video and controls), photos and liveries you havent uploaded yet, car collection thumbnails (will be recreated when you open vehicles selection).
All your game progress is saved online.
I finished with all golds today too. Other shrines were more bearable. But "bearable" is still very far from "good". There are way too many bugs. Like that bash skill for example. Since its lv2 its supposed to have an extra finisher if its target survives wall hit with a bit of health. But I've only seen it trigger once while doing those challenges. So in the end I realized that I dont need a wall hit kill, I started to bring enemy health to almost 0 and then use skill on them, killing on contact. Finding workarounds for bugs should not be a part of "skill" challenge.
Yes, some challenges arent 100% strict, Like that bear challenge with fire and fall kills, it lets you fail on 2 enemies and still get gold. It feels like they were designed by different people. Some were much more sensible than others. Really, [censored] with aerial assassinations in a cave. I ended up doing most of them from little objects such as torch sticks. Another thing I believe any good skill challenge should do is to teach players usefull game mechanics. Aerials in a cave is the opposite of usefull. Just as using bash (or any other skill) on an almost dead enemy.
Random enemy deaths is just a dice roll, and its bad no matter how you look at it.
I have no problems with aiming because I play AC with keyboard+mouse and hitboxes are super generous. But weak points on archers are stupid. When they get weak point on right arm its often blocked by their entire body or bow. But you can still hit it if you aim just a few pixels off enemy model but somewhere close to invisible weak point location. Shooting air to hit weak points basically. Thats how dumb hitboxes are in this game. And they've made an entire challenge based on this. 2 challenges in fact.
Also whats up with repeating challenges. There are only 5 shrines but many challenges are repeated twice.
Because devs are trolls, thats why.
I also want to ask why there is slipstream from ghosted players in time attack events. In time attack racers are racing against time, not other racers directly, its in the name after all. Racing simultaneosly with ghosted players is gameplay convinience to save real world time. Nothing more, nothing less. Its meant to imitate split start (inability to interact with other racers by crashing or blocking) without actually consuming extra time. Yet that inability to interact somehow has limits in this glorious game. Because ghosted slipstream exists. A magic invented of Ivory Tower devs.
If you enjoy PvP modes and competition my advise to you: run as far as you can from this game. I knew I would if i didnt invest so much time that I dont just want to throw away. But even for me its getting increasingly harder to justify playing this garbage joke of a game.
I cant make my stupid horse gallop with keyboard+mouse (this action is assigned to its default - "shift") after installing newest update. Sprinting on foot (which uses the same button) still works. Gallop also works with xbone controller, but I prefer kb+m for AC games and dont wont to relearn controls due to this silly bug.
Valhalla at release seemed to be the best "new AC" out of the 3 games released. But now I think its the worst.
First, big paid DLC. Both origins and odyssey had expansions that dealt with AC lore and both games 2nd expansions had mind-blowing locations. In valhalla those are just 2 more side sagas. And while Ireland had some unique terrain France looks and feels like yet another part of England.
Then repeatable quests in those DLC. Just why? 2 different systems but both are much worse than odyssey merc contracts. In odyssey you had more variety in tasks and destinations but most importantly - they always started with a story, and there were a lot of different stories. In Valhallas Paris DLC I've lost count how many times I was asked to wipe a convoy in the same exact spot just to gain enought resources to buy armor set and all new runes. Who asked for this? Did we really trade actual side quests for this crap? Odyssey provided both, there was no trading one thing for another.
Then comes free content. In Odyssey they added a new big quest chain every few weeks. And their quality was suprisingly very good. What does valhalla add? Mindless grind. Boring events with almost no story but with tokens grind. River raids that are all about grind. Mastery challenges where you fight against bugs and unpolished game systems.
And finally microtransactions. There is more of this crap than ever. And its more impactfull than ever.

i dont know what video you are referring to, or why do you think its a video of current world record.
But leaderboard for NY was reset AFTER new checkpoints were added. And this new record was also posted AFTER that. It is repeatable in current game version.
No, this skip never saved you 2 whole minutes, unless you're driving a fullstock MC12 with no nitro.
Also Im not claiming it was posted without using any exploits like traffic absence. But any exploits that were potentially used there still work now. I know for a fact from personal experience you can get no traffic in NY race in current game version. Its a lot harder to trigger than it used to be but it happens.
Also cars were not made slower. Its probably a problem with your gaming system, not the game.
After posting my previous reply I realized you're already at max level (50) in motorpass, so you dont need 12 tier skips from the bundle at all. 80k CC motorpass keeps your level from free version and unlocks all items up to your current level. Which is everything in this case.
150k CC bundle does the same thing but also adds 12 levels to the current level. And its in-game description (items list) is only accurate for those who are at level 1 when they buy it.
Its just a bundle. Motorpass + 12 tiers already "earned". There is a tiers sale right now, it happens at the end of every episode, I dont know the discount but if its -50% then buying motorpass and individual tiers will be chaper than this bundle. This can explain why bundle is disabled, to avoid being accused of scaming players (not that motorpass itself isnt a scam).
Paying for this bundle and extra tiers is only "worth" it in the beginning of an episode, if you just got an itch and cant wait a few weeks before enough weekly challenges are unlocked to earn those tiers for free. But at the end of an episode you can just play the game for 3 hours and get to max level of motorpass. Even Ivory Tower realizes this and discounts levels. If you cant spend 3 hours in 2 months then why even bother? Stop throwing money at your monitor and supporting predatory monetization practices in "premium" games (TC2's most complete edition still costs $90 in official ubisoft store for porks sake). By doing this you're only making this game worse for those who actually play that stupid game.
Those massive boats arent designed for low speeds and when multiple players attempt the same skill (which happens whenever that skill appears in a summit, like current one) they constantly bump into each other and ruin each other's attempts.
Since you'll never fix the underlying issue (having to deal with other players in summit skills) lets just do it an easy way.
Give players a boosted "score breaker" + "skilled" gear set for jetsprints as a summit reward. Then give it again after a couple months for a good measure. This will make every tryhard stop using powerboats to smash buoys.
Help - Vehicle Thumbnail Not Loading In For Every Car/Live Logo Hovers Over - Playing On XBOX SERIES X ?
Its likely that game does save files properly but then they somehow disappear between sessions (reserved space size isnt large enough? game devs are usually the ones who increase it on consoles) or game tries to look for them in a different location each time.
On PC if you delete a vehicle thumbnail while game is running it will be recreated next time you open vehicle selection menu. So if those files arent saved at all you would get them recreated each time you open vehicles list, not after game's restart.
While this is true for "older titles" TC2 is NOT one of them.
It was advertised as live game or game as a service at release. Its still being updated. But those updates focus more on additions you can buy with real money and less on the actual quality of the core game.
A live game is supposed to support current mainstream hardware out of the box with no hassles. Xbox gamepad is THE gamepad on PC. Its a shame you dont support its latest revision properly even after 1.5 years since it appeared on the market.
Ok but dont 'fix' BMW, its not a bug
BMW i8 - catalog vs upgraded car
As you can see upgraded car (white) has larger* wheels, and its lower / closer to the ground.
- - by this I mean tires are wider and have larger inner diameter, tires outer diameter stays the same
2 more shots from another angle
Both shots are taken from my vehicle (not from catalog) but I removed performance upgrades to take 1st shot, 2nd shot is taken with upgrades installed.
The results are the same. Upgraded car is lower and has larger wheels.
2 more cars picked at random:
Pontiac GTO "The Judge"
Same story, upgraded cars (2nd shot from both pairs) have larger wheels. Its a feature working as intended.
Still I think that Ford F-150 wheels size (in particular tires inner radius) after upgrades is a bit too much. With this it looks riced (in a worse sense) even before you apply any cosmetic modifications. With Pontiac GTO you can barely notice the difference at first glance, this is how it should be. F-150 wheels size should be scaled back to be more in line with what you see on other cars.
Its not really a bug. Most SR cars change appearance after getting perf gear upgrades. Bigger/wider wheels, different default camber, lower and stiffer suspension, larger brakes, cars with drum brakes get them replaced with disks.
But I kinda agree its too much in this case.
