Why not pretend that these Russian operators are fighting for a just cause? After-all, they are Team Rainbow who fight against terrorists.
Ding is loved everywhere. We need him in this game as a playable operator!
I hope a Ubisoft employee will relay this thread to the higher ups and they will consider him next year in 2023.
Yes, I do realize that the company do not own his rights at the moment but that shouldn't stop them from negotiating a deal that can benefit both sides. It will work from a business standpoint because he is a well known character. More exposure = better.
Plus, some of the income by purchasing Ding Chavez with real money can be donated to the humanitarian cause. This will be seen as admirable.
Ding Chavez is a legendary character from the books and also previous games. He is the quintessential role model for all of the boys and girls to look up to in the story. If there is a wall poster about Team Rainbow then you can bet he will be on there.
He was the former Six with great leadership skills and is a capable soldier with legit credentials. No one knows where his whereabouts are after Team Rainbow was disbanded. Though maybe Ubisoft can come up with a story of their own if Ding ever comes back in the game.
For those who think he may be too old... These are the operators who are of similar age to Ding Chavez:
Ding -> 01/12/1968
Tachanka -> 11/03/1967
Capitão -> 11/17/1967
Jackal -> 02/29/1968
Warden -> 03/18/1968
Montagne -> 10/11/1968
Please make this a dream come true!
I recalled the following from the birthday/dog tag charms:
Capitao -> 11/17/1967. The game lists him as 49 years old.
Jackal -> 02/29/1968. The game lists him as 49 years old.
Tachanka -> 11/03/1967. The game lists him as 48 years old.
Montagne -> 10/11/1968. The game lists him as 48 years old.
Warden -> ????. The game lists him as 48 years old.
1.) Why is Jackal listed as 49 and Tachanka as 48 when the latter was born before Jackal and Capitao?
2.) Was Warden born in 1968 or 1971?
3.) Are the operator ages listed in game mean that these are their current ages? Meaning right now in game Warden is 48, Capitao is 49, Jackal is 49, Tachanka is 48, Montagne is 48? Or something else entirely?

Do the books have exclusive rights to Ding Chavez?? If so, why not focus on making a deal with the publishing company to secure Ding Chavez and other specific characters so that they can be playable in the game? Buying every character from the book will probably be expensive but just a few like Ding wouldn't be as expensive and would likely yield a positive net result for the company. Just about everyone who has played the previous Rainbow games know who he is.
Rainbow Six Siege's producer, Eric Tremblay, stated that Ding Chavez is another interesting character that the team was considering alongside Zero.
Rainbow Six Siege's director, Leroy Athanassoff, said that he would love to bring Ding Chavez back.
That being said, why is there a delay in Ding's Siege status? Exclusive rights or not, I think Ubisoft and the book publishing company can negotiate and come up with a deal where we can finally see Ding in Siege.
Lastly, I came across a reddit post not too long ago on the r/Rainbow6 channel:
I'll let the picture do the talking->
Why not pretend that these Russian operators are fighting for a just cause? After-all, they are Team Rainbow who fight against terrorists.
The inclusion of Sam Fisher was a major positive bonus for all players and vets of the series.
Ding was and will always be the poster boy for the Rainbow series. So why not include him in the game and garner more money from him?
Also, if Nomad's name would be an issue because we already have a Nomad character then just rename him to "Ghost" instead.
Also how would their lore play out if they were to be included?

He was the original Six before Harry and Aurelia. And he is the original posterboy for the Rainbow Six franchise. He is capable of taking out the terrorists and hanging with the current operators with ease.
Old vets and newcomers will be happy to see a playable character from the canonical story in the game.
Make it happen! We need Ding Chavez!
We are almost heading to six years of no Ding Chavez now since 2015. When will Ubisoft decide to listen to its fans and make Ding Chavez a playable operator?
Don't leave us out in the dark. Why is Ding Chavez not in the game yet? A response from an Ubisoft employee would be awesome.
