@ubi-thrupney Yes this issue is quite serious. I agree with others that this problem is one of the most annoying issues in Far Cry 6. Stealth is badly affected and clearing areas is impossible and you get the feeling you are not making any progress within the game. Areas that you are supposed to capture for the rebels are NOT affected but every other red bordered trespassing location has this problem. If this is by game design, it needs changing. Enemies should not be respawning / returning to the same location until we have at least gone five miles away and it is so bad sometimes, you can see them reappear literally from thin air, which obviously breaks immersion. Aircraft are a similar issue where you can hear them first and then they just appear into existence in the sky.
Please fix these issues. I am gonna stop playing for a while until some more patches have arrived to fix these problems.
Just checking in to see if anything has changed regarding these crash/freeze issues. I see it hasn't, that's a shame. Stopped playing a few months ago, having put in over 2000 hours through multiple agents; I even have an Hardcore Agent that killed Keener at watch level 2 and is still alive lol.
Despite this being one of my favourite games I have ever played, I am saddened by the support of the devs to fix critical bugs in this game and the continuous server problems from which this issue most likely stems from. I also find it very annoying and disappointing, that no matter what is said here in the forums regarding this issue, nothing ever changes.
Because of this either awful negligence or blatant rug sweeping to ignore the problem, I will not purchase any future Ubisoft product unless this issue is fully fixed and Ubisoft Devs explain in FULL what it was that was causing it and what they did to fix it; even if that means they have to admit to their own faults and negligence. Admitting stuff and changing their ways will make their gamers and consumers happier as they are not left in the dark wondering why important things are not happening. Such as why a critical PC issue has lasted for such a long time in a live game.
I cannot play The Division 2 with these issues and I spent over £200 on it in total over the years, it is unacceptable. I don't want a refund, I want a game I love fixed so I can play it without it crashing every 15 minutes. And to any Ubisoft Forum Support, for the love of God, don't tell me to run through a bunch of technical troubleshooting. I spent many hours doing that over a year ago when this all began. I built my PC and know how it works, I also know how to diagnose issues and this issue is not on the clients end, it is either a problem with server connectivity, or a problem with server overload, possibly a problem with Easy Anti-Cheat Engine and/or the Ubisoft Connect App, or if the devs are completely incompetent, a memory leak. The last would be hard to be believed with this issue lasting so long. I would laugh, but this situation is so bad there isn't a word for it...
PS - Don't buy a new PC if you think this issue is because of low specs. My PC Specs: i9 9900K / RX 6900XT / 32GB DDR4 (3200Mhz) / EVGA Supernova 1000W / Samsung 970 EVO NVME
Another thought to something that could solve this apart from Ubisoft Devs spending money on adding server count and having a team of devs round the clock sorting it out (which should be done anyway) would be to add a completely offline Division 2 experience. I wonder if they have done internal tests with no online server connections. If they made the DarkZones single player, it would still be fun with more difficult AI opponents and all the safezone hubs without other players wouldn't bother me as I play solo anyway. IMO it might give solo players a crash-free experience at least.
Or perhaps make a completely new single player Division game. Heartlands is coming and is multiplayer and as such, I am not interested at all. Perhaps it would be a good idea for them to make two sperate experiences so they make all of their fans happy instead of just a portion of them.
Just a quick question for the devs to ask if this game on PC will get Vulkan API support in the future?
I ask this because my PC doesn't run DirectX11 very well; it causes stuttering and the frame rate is much lower than DX12. But DX12, despite being much more stable generally, with a higher frame-rate and a smooth overall feel, I get regular freeze crashes practically every time I play.
Perhaps the Vulkan API wouldn't make much difference, I don't know, but having spent well over 2000 hours playing this game, I feel very disappointed that these problems still exist after so much time has passed since it's release.
Thanks for any info on either this question or any updates on your investigation progress into these crashes and future fixes.
@spla5hdmg Oh dear, well thanks for letting us know. Judging by that then, it is server related and how many are playing at one time. They need to fix their [censored]. I'm currently playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint and having no issues technically, although I'd prefer to play The Division 2. Sadly these issues do make that impossible at the moment.
I do hope that a fix is implemented as I have never seen such a bad issue last as long as this with a live game before. Very disappointing...
@potatontomatobb Seems so for me too. I am from the UK and getting Bravo 4 error saying the servers are unavailable at the moment.
@adrian-11 It is fun seeing how far you can get an agent. I have been seeing how far I can get hardcore agents for a few months now. My current agent is World Tier 4, but three weeks ago I got to World Tier 5 with a different agent but that agent was killed.
I tended to worry about crashes, but I found the worst is the freeze crash as when using AMD cards, the games simulation is still running in the background; since I use an AMD card, if the game freezes, if I am not near an enemy I just force end-task through task manager, but if I am in a battle I just hit the reset button. Doing this prevents my agent from dying from a crash and they just get put back at the nearest safehouse.
Every time a hardcore agent is killed, I note down what specifically got them killed, as doing this can prevent such an event for the next. I found most of my deaths were either impatience or an encounter where I got surrounded by strong enemies and I was ill-equipped to retreat.
Main enemies to be careful of are: Named Enemies that have special talents. A previous HC agent of mine was killed by one called The Artifact who is a sniper with explosive incendiary arrows. I was impatient and went in CQC for the kill. This agent had reached level 30.
Another enemy type to be careful of is the Outcast Suicide Bomber, especially Elite Yellow ones. I had an HC agent killed a while ago in those underground tunnels by one. it's the fire afterwards that makes those very dangerous.
Obviously bosses are very deadly, Wyvern being pretty annoying if you have not prepared for that battle. It was this battle that killed my World Tier 5 Agent. I had already defeated her and successfully completed this battle once with this agent. It was the second encounter that I struggled, mainly because I switched from a mostly blue build, to a mostly red build. This battle is difficult in that you have time limits and have to move constantly around the area. Since I do everything solo, I tend to use armor and talents that give armor back, like Preservation on my weapons. But in the Wyvern battle where I was killed, I didn't use that setup and I got flanked, with a constraining time limit, I was being rushed and I was not targeting those enemies, I was trying to get to the launchers first.
If you have any questions, I don't mind giving more info and tips. Have fun
@burtmack1in Yes I get these freeze/crashes as well and have been doing for a while now (months) - recently stopped playing this game because of them sadly. I do hope that a fix can be released. It is very surprising this issue has been happening for such a long time.
I have said this before, but I suspect it is either memory leaks, server problems or the Easy Anti-Cheat. But all of which we cannot fix ourselves. I too have tried all kinds of things, including your list of diagnostic trials, but to end with yet another freeze crash. And it does seem random. Sometimes it will freeze after 10 minutes, other times after a few hours of play. This suggests more toward server problems, but that is just speculation.
Lets hope your information here helps the devs find a solution
@hawkeye_1234 I second that. I haven't been able to play for months and stopped trying around November as I got tired of the constant freezes/crashes. I have since decided to stop buying Ubisoft games until they keep Live games like The Division 2 in a playable state. It isn't the only game of Ubisoft that has problems either; I am not sure what happened to the the after release support for PC games with this company, it is unacceptable considering how much money and time we put into these games. I hope the future is brighter for The Division franchise on PC

@w3st3rninfid3l Hmm, I will give it a try. I have stopped playing this for a while (over a month) as I got tired of the constant freezes. I will report back with my results in a day or so
@ubi-borealis One thing I have noticed that does help reduce stuttering is turning Environment Detail down from Ultra to High in the graphics options. Obviously since most here run very good systems (myself included) we don't want to do this, but if for those that this helps and they don't mind doing it, I thought i'd mention it.
In my experience, the stuttering is only in certain locations, like large buildings that are enterable and where there's a lot of enemy NPC's. Auto Saving does cause stuttering as well. Hopefully there will be fix in the works for these problems. Thanks.

@battlemaster23 Ok so I did even more testing and I finally have found what has been causing this, or my own lack of seeing what the cause was creating this issue. It is the fact that sprint is a toggle by default, it doesn't turn itself off, even after a sprint has finished and you are now walking or moving slowly. This means that the crouch button won't function as intended and seems to just throw Dany into unpredictable slides randomly.
If this has been happening to others and have been following this, I have a workaround. Put sprint into "hold" in the controller mapping menu and the problem will be solved. This does actually make running feel more intuitive imo. Hope this helps somebody.
@battlemaster23 I have been testing things to find out what is causing this and Crouch starts to stop functioning as soon as you perform a slide, as that is the same button but activated when running. When I load into the game world, I can use crouch just fine, but once I have performed a slide, it stops functioning.
Of note I have changed a few things in the controls menus such as putting holster on a double press of "x" on my controller and turned off aim assists.
Please look into this issue and if anyone knows a fix, let me know as I cannot play the game like this, thanks.
Regularly when just running around and during missions, I cannot crouch with either my Xbox One Elite Series 2 Controller or my Keyboard. It seems to be random and there doesn't seem to be a pattern. This is quite a big problem as I prefer to use stealth during gameplay. Hopefully this can be resolved soon.

@brewz I know this is insanely frustrating, but I found a workaround to this problem. The game still freezes, but if it does, hit reset on your PC. When the game freezes, the simulation of the enemy and your character are still running in the background and the AI can still kill you. If you hit reset as soon as it freezes, this prevents that. Make sure to verify your Division 2 files after doing this, as resetting your PC during gaming has a chance of causing file corruption. Wish you luck friend.
