@dixiedynamite I'm in exactly the same situation. Reloading earlier saves does nothing to change the issue. I manage to get the pass just fine. I acquire the key to free the prisoners and the moment I'm down below and say "I hope this key works" or something like that, I can clearly see the last guard up above stuck in the stone ramparts with no way whatsoever of reaching him or killing him. I'd already killed all other guards before freeing the prisoners. I even tried not doing that and waiting to go around on a killing spree after freeing them and there's still that one final guard trapped inside the wall.
I mean, how the hell does this sort of thing continue happening in games to this day? You'd think someone would have figured out how to fix this sort of issue years ago since it comes up in nearly every single damn game released. Do they just cut-n-paste and not bother at all with testing this sort of thing because they know it's a crapshoot -- maybe the majority of players won't trigger this game-breaking glitch and it'll be fine and screw the handful of players who have their game experience ruined because they cannot progress any further? Is that the reasoning??
It does no one any good to keep saying that the devs are aware of the issue and are working toward a solution when months keep passing by without any fix in sight. It's November 2021, folks, and this is still broken for some of us. This is just ridiculous.
I have completed the Triada mission, even put all three relics in the cave and unlocked Oluso. But the door in Fort Oro just never opens for me. When I went there for the relic, I was able to open the well area, enter it, find the relic. I had read the note by the door first before exploring around the structure and may not have noticed the door swing open. In fact, I'm fairly certain it never did such thing. After I returned from the well, I noticed that the note and the box it was in by the door was now gone. And the door remained locked. I waited for two full days and nights. No change.
I went to the cave on Isla Santuario and placed the three relics inside the cave, got the amigo and then returned to the fort, again at night, still locked. Note is still missing as well. I logged out of the game and went back to the main menu. Loaded up and returned to the fort, still locked. Exited the game completely, tried again, still locked. Went on to do several other things, completed some achievements, even a few core challenges. This is still bugged. And from the looks of some players on Reddit, I'm not alone in this issue.
@pappasimons I cleared everything, everywhere. Fully upgraded the settlement to level 6. Built every single building I could. Did all quests except for the one for the Order which never triggered. I killed all of the Zealots and Order members except for The Father. When I went to turn in the medallions to Hytham, the game handed over more than I actually had in my inventory and so the game believed I had already killed The Father. Hytham remained in his building and never appeared outside of the longhouse to give me the final quest for the Order.
It's ridiculous that the game should be so buggy but it's hardly surprising as that seems to be the trend these days. They make this whole big deal about ray tracing and graphics, about all the things you can do in the game -- and by the way, the bird companion now is just about useless where he used to be quite over powered in previous games so thanks for that too -- but then they forget to add the things needed to their game for challenges and even to make the damn game even borderline playable.
I honestly would gladly trade all the bells and whistles for a working game on launch. How the hell to get that through to the gaming companies and their developers though. Not buy their games? Maybe that might get their attention. At this point, I'm pretty much fed up.
Killed 44 of them, went to turn in the medallions and it turned in more than I actually had on hand. Game now believes I've already killed The Father and will not trigger that final quest to kill him. Finished the game (quest in Valhalla with Sigurd) and now there's absolutely nothing left to do in the game. No quests in the log. No way to trigger that other quest.
Since it won't allow me to edit past 300 seconds, here's a follow-up to my original post.
Other quests that are bugged in the completed list:
And to verify the issue with the final quest for the Order and The Father:
Bugged game, last of the Order quest (for The Father) fails to show up, in fact the quest is marked as completed. But beyond that, there's also this:
Playing as a male Eivor and several times during the game various NPCs have referred to me as if I were a female. "Oh, there she is." "She can do it." [Removed by Ubi-Woofer 19/04/2021] What the hell?
@eog4rd Ubisoft has always been buggy when it came to achievements and challenges unlocking without a ton of hoop jumping, restarting and hoping like hell it works this time. Where have you been?
I'm in the same situation. 44 of the Order dead, 5/6 clues for The Father but I cannot trigger that final quest. This is ridiculous.
But at least the game looks real pretty, so who cares if it doesn't work as it should. I'll go play something else while Ubisoft fixes their game. MAYBE I'll try again some day, in a year or two.
Same boat. High leveled now (373) and trying to finish up the game. Fully upgraded both quiver and rations pouch before learning of this "bug". I really wish Ubisoft would use some sense when it comes to these things. What's the point in limiting the number of fabric when we continue to loot iron ore and leather till we vomit, especially when there's an altar that requires an offering of 5 fabric so late in the game.\
And to the other folks here who keep advising not to fully upgrade your pouches -- that's completely counter-intuitive. All of have already upgraded them as they are very beneficial to have fully upgraded, especially for later in the game. And I have searched all chests in Jorvik and NONE of them had any fabric whatsoever so it does indeed stop spawning once you have upgraded the two pouches.
Mega fail, Ubisoft. Seriously, how you nearly always manage to foul things up with your games is astounding. No PC achievements on launch. Bugs like this one. Missable collectibles which are part of quests. Graphics glitch which prevents some cinematic cutscenes from playing out thus preventing progression of some quests unless graphics is turned down to low, then to high with restarts in between. Is it still amateur hour there in Montreal??
Will complete the game however I can but no, I won't be playing it all over again just to unlock the achievements whenever the hell they are released for the PC. Good game but not worth slogging through again. Maybe in a couple of years.
[Removed by Ubi-Woofer 19/04/2021] Thanks in advance.
