@ubi-baron Really ? Not even an answer to the question if achievements will be given retroactively (though admittedly I'd put my money on "no" for that one, though an official statement would be nice).
I am strongly considering refunding my ultimate edition. can always buy it again for less money when you fixed your stuff, your loss Ubisoft.
I bought this to play it now on release, it's been 2 wasted days now, the new Yakuza is kinda enticing and....well, their achievements work, too.
Never touch a running system, especially right when you are about to release 2 big games that use that system which clearly wasn't tested. A wonder Watchdogs works with that stupid Connect nonsense.
Oh, btw, can some wise person explain to me what exactly the customer gained with the change to connect ? ...you know besides game features not working...
I see not a single new useful feature, instead non working achievements and a pointless change to the uplay points system on top of way more bloat than with Uplay. Genius, truly.
@detroitin2019 People liking different things having different opinions...crazy innit ? How about supporting other people even if you don't care about it, or did the achievements being there hurt you ? did they kill your pets and torture your family ?
Why do so many people always come along saying "Well I never cared about that so it's fine they take it away", why not "Well, despite not caring personally about this, many people seem to care so just bring it back" ? Would that be so hard ?
This would be fine if Ubisoft just said "No more achievements, period !" but just PC users while they still do it for consoles ? what is the point, they still need some guy thinking up the achievements and putting them in game, it is just a small API in Ubisoft connect that triggers them after that and that API clearly is in place since Watchdogs HAS achievements in Connect !
THEY ARE NOT EVEN SAVING MONEY !
Yeah, I am done, this is my last Ubisoft game...if I don't refund. This achievement BS on top of the woke BS in the games:
Watch Dogs is an Antifa celebration, strongly Anti-Brexit and of course PC through and through and Valhalla is being censored for having a description of a female warrior that has a scar and gets angry and berserkerlike because of it and we can't have scars (on women!) anymore because a feminist game reviewer with a rainbow-colored mohawk haircut has decided that it might offend some people (women) who might have a scar...and Ubisoft jumped right on that apologizing for that nonsense and promising to censor that....BUT ACHIEVEMENTS; NO WAY, NO TIME FOR THAT CRAP THAT PAYING CUSTOMERS WANT, it's just so much more important to cater your games to people of which 99.99% will never play it. Even that feminist only played it to "review" (translated : search for non-woke or non-PC stuff and COMPLAIN to feel important).
If that is the customers you want, Ubisoft....you got it, I received the message LOUD and clear. And you can check my account, I used to preorder your games as soon as they went on sale and directly on Uplay so 100% money for you...you just lost that.
@lockmort oh, dude, my text is not meant personal in any way, but he is the only support guy around, so just maybe he can relay that people are not exactly OK with what they are doing right now.
And sure, me refunding won't make a real difference to anyone but me, but that is the point they need to understand...it costs me nothing to refund, quite the opposite because you can bet around xmas this game will be on sale for like 30% off and maybe they manage to fix achievements till then still, ubisoft should realize that they lose money in the end. I was preordering their games as soon as the preorder went up (AC, Far Cry and WAtchdogs), not anymore after this.
With all the SJW nonsense going on in their games it's not much of a loss anymore anyways i guess. Now we get censoring in Valhalla because a feminist complained about some characters description because it mentioned a scar and that is, for some reason, non-woke so it has to be purged.
oh, and how is yakuza, pal ? worth the kinda high price ?
@detroitin2019 YOU basically said Ubisoft is doing the right thing in removing the achievements because YOU don't like them. That IS what YOU said. I DIDN'T ask you to change your opinion, I just asked you to stop this [censored] cancel culture.
My example on what you COULD have said reflected your opinion just the same without telling Ubisoft "you did good, boy". But yeah, sure, I disrespected your opinion..sure, you win the interwebz, congrats.
Jesus, people on the internet, good god can't some asteroid finally hit this POS planet and wipe this pathetic human race from existence.

@lockmort ohh, ok, I didn't read about that, but checking into it you are absolutly right :
You need 500 Ubisoft Connect XP to level up. Every time you level up in Ubisoft Connect, you will earn Units: 10 Units per level, 20 Units every 5th level, 50 Units every 10th level.
Game gives you 5000 XP, so, if I read that correctly, you get 80 points plus 20 for the 5th level plus 50 for the 10th, so 150 points,
Thank you very much for that info, I read up on the connect changes, but I don't recall reading about changes how points are earned.
@ubi-baron can you please mention to the dev team that the challenges are missing the point rewards ? store page for valhalla says I can earn like 100 points by playing but currently there is no point rewards anywhere
