@mrsir1980 You don't need to wear those shoes to loot bodies when running directly over them. EDIT: Realized afterwards you meant in a vehicle lol. Sheesh, I am definitely having an off day.
@b101_uk Seriously? That sounds... well, not entirely useless. Just mostly useless I suppose. Sigh...
@ubi-karl I added an edit about the Scrounger Coat possibly not working as well, then noticed you had already replied and worried you may not have noticed. Thus you may want to forward another note to the developers to take a look at the entire Scrounger set while they're at it, just in case. Thanks!
I was trying to use the Avispa Buzzer with these shoes equipped today only to discover they do not work at all. I flew around areas where there were tons of visible resources waiting to be looted (fuel, metal, meds, etc), even landing right next to a bunch. I also tested to see if maybe these shoes only work while driving a car, but this did not help. These shoes are definitely broken, at least in my game (Xbox Series X). I've only come across one other person experiencing this problem when I did a search, so I'm uncertain whether it is just us two or if this impacts everyone:
https://www.reddit.com/r/farcry/comments/q5icaa/is_there_a_trick_to_make_far_cry6s_scrounger/
It's super easy for anyone to test out so I'm not going to go to the trouble of making a video. Just take my word for it and try them out for yourself if you've got a pair.
Edit: There is a possibility that the Scrounger Coat isn't working as well. Average numbers of materials looted while wearing the coat versus not are about the same.
@ubi-woofer I've returned to that area a few times since posting and the sweeper is always someone new. Their animations work properly as well, so perhaps it's just that one particular mesh asset that does it? Unless animations are stored separately and called/used for multiple mesh assets. If it's the latter then it must have been a weird one off and thus temporary.
@ubi-ginge I just encountered this bug while playing today on the Xbox Series X (patch version 1.3.1). I've tried everything just like the others; reloading, rebooting, fast traveling, etc. Should I remain hopeful this will be fixed soon or is giving up all hope the more reasonable option? After all it has been nearly a year since this bug was first reported. Seriously, how hard is it to fix this particular problem? Either move their spawn point or delete them and their icon from the game entirely. There you go, problem fixed! It's not as if there is an achievement/trophy associated with drinking games that might get messed up. Right? Same with the Ubisoft Connect challenges.
Sorry, I'm grumpy because of the flying paper challenge located in this same exact area. All my skills (power 299) and knowing where it would stop still wasn't enough to actually get it easily. Eivor kept refusing to climb the side of a building no matter how I approached it. Some days I love this game, other days less so. Sigh...
I've read through this entire thread and have to say that this is one odd bug. The fact that vatiman continues to experience visual artifacting, even when their Xbox has been connected to several different televisions/monitors, points to it being a problem with either the game or the Xbox seeing as we can logically exclude the various displays tested. Based on the video provided by vatiman, I'd wager the problem is hardware rather than software (though I could be wrong). The only way to know for sure would be to hook up a completely different Xbox to your display and play Assassin's Creed Valhalla to see if it still happens. If it does, you'll know for certain its the game that is responsible and will be one step closer to figuring this out. If it doesn't happen, however, you'll know for certain this problem is due to your Xbox instead, most likely the GPU or HDMI port (a bad solder or component maybe). A bad cable is another possibility, though I believe you said you tried a different one?
In addition to hardware issues, note that overheating, particular of the GPU, can cause odd issues like this as well. Thus another possibility could be a poorly mounted cooling device, poorly functioning fan, or dust/hair blocking good air flow. All things worth considering. Different games stress the hardware to different levels, so the fact that flickering doesn't happen with other titles isn't a guarantee that Ubisoft is at fault. I suppose a firmware glitch could also cause issues, say an improperly installed update (you do allow your Xbox to update itself every month, right?). This tends to result in a bricked system more often than not, though, so it's probably not that. The fact that only two people have reported this over the past seven months is a clue as well; if the game was indeed at fault, then logically wouldn't a lot more people come here to complain about it? And karen4964 didn't post a video, so we don't actually know if their flickering is identical to what vatiman is experiencing.
Hopefully you know someone who's willing to bring their Xbox over to your home for testing. I'd be more than happy to lend you mine, but alas. Odds are we don't live anywhere near one another. Another alternative could be to rent an Xbox from somewhere, though I've noticed places that offer this service are starting to disappear which could make this option difficult. Whatever the case, I really hope you figure this out! That flickering would certainly drive me crazy before too long lol.
Black Shuck Sound Glitch

This is an odd one that I'm certain you'll want to fix. After exiting the area with the Black Shuck, I sat and watched as it returned to the kill it feeds on located at the center. It just sat there, as shown in the video, until some audio played along the following lines:
"Enter under support text under support here."
I only captured this audio once, but it would actually repeat every 10 seconds or so. I reloaded my game and was able to make it happen a second time meaning it should be repeatable.
Grantebridge Broom... Glitch?
https://1drv.ms/v/s!Akmav0GhnaZogmpWIhCjbX0D7zEw?e=5pz8uY: (https://1drv.ms/v/s!Akmav0GhnaZogmpWIhCjbX0D7zEw?e=5pz8uY)
Not nearly as important, but funny none the less. A sweeper and his magical floating broom, captured at the longhouse in Grantebridge. The sweeping sounds he makes don't always match up with the animation either. Maybe vikings had mastery over the force a long time ago, on a continent far, far away?
The "Man's Best Friened" ability is supposed to be grey whilst assigned to a button. This is normal behaviour and I'm surprised nobody from Ubi has pointed this out yet. It will only become active (i.e. yellow) when you hold down the left trigger (LT on the Xbox) AND are targeting a specific enemy. The wolf being in your bedroom at the longhouse is also normal. It is not meant to follow you as you roam around the world, as cool as that would be (I wish). Hopefully this will help everyone out having difficulty with this and a few other targeted skills. The devs should probably update the popup in game for such skills to let players know how it's supposed to work instead of having everyone guess at it, even if it is some what obvious once you realize it. Hey, don't feel bad! I, too, had trouble figuring it out at first lol!
This thread is pretty long so I haven't read it all, thus I have no idea whether this comment will help or not, nor whether the following "fix" has already been mentioned.
I recently experienced this issue with "The Legend of Beowulf" quest while playing under patch 1.3.0. It had been in my quest log for a really long time and only when I finally decided to do it is when I noticed the quest was no longer there. So I followed the recommended advice of uninstalling and reinstalling the associated DLC (twice) which did not help at all. Then I read a comment somewhere that said going into the in game store is what got it working for them, so I tried that. This didn't work the first time I tried, but on my second attempt it did, probably because on that try I actually clicked on several random things in the store.
Not sure the following will be helpful to the dev team or not, but one strange consequence of clicking on the season pass in the in game store would cause my Xbox Series X to try and update it's own store app repeatedly which I thought was strange. Anyways I was finally able to do the quest and finish it thanks to the above advice regarding the in game store. I still need to grab "The Way of the Berseker" quest from the Connect app which I haven't gotten around to yet. Hopefully I won't encounter any issues with it.
@adarklore No doubt a lot of folks playing the game are descended from the north men, as am I. The Norse definitely left a lasting impact on society that's still felt today. Impressive when you consider how long its been since they were at their height.
And of the three RPG style Assassin's Creed games, I wholeheartedly agree that Valhalla is the worst of the lot. But worst game of all time? Not by a long shot. There are lots of games out there that are more deserving of that title. In spite of all the bugs and glitches, which are numerous and annoying, I'm still enjoying myself.
You make an interesting point about vikings and civilians (which love to get in the way during fights). I suppose that since Eivor is an assassin, he/she must follow all of their tennants, one of which being they must not kill the innocent. Then again, stealth is so bad in this game at times that one cannot help but wonder if we truly are playing an assassin. I've certainly seen a lot of people deflect from this by saying Eivor is a viking, not a trained assassin, but if that were really true...
Someone in another thread hypothesized that it's all due to Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ubi's failed attempt at games as a service. Considering how badly it flopped, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were right. Their hypothesis goes on to further state that this is why so much of what were used to is missing from Valhalla. Ubi devs realized how badly they had botched up and in order to not further antagonize the player base, stripped the game of its most egregious aspects last minute. Then there is the pandemic to consider, which I mentioned in my previous comment. When resources and schedules are strained is a bad time to try something new. Hopefully they'll have learned some valuable lessons and the next game will be better.
@thenorfolkian I just tested it using a completely different PC and internet connection, via Firefox 92.0 with all cookies deleted prior to rebooting. It played fine so the problem must be on your end (I hope because I have no clue what might be wrong if it is at my end).
I think we can all agree that while AC Valhalla isn't terrible, it's also not as good as it could have been. Compared to the last two titles (which I loved, Origins especially), it's obvious Valhalla took a step backwards in a lot of areas. What I probably hate the most is the excuses some people make regarding stealth, e.g. Eivor is a viking and for that reason alone stealth is impossible. It's a cop out and one I'm certain most long time AC fans will agree with if we're all being completely honest.
That being said, I do try to cut the developers some slack. When the pandemic hit, the scheduling of pretty much every single business entity in existence was thrown into chaos, particularly for those whom work in the field of entertainment. People found themselves having to resort to alternative means of communicating which, lets face it, isn't nearly as efficient as everyone gathering together under one roof where they can see first hand what their fellow employees are up to, share ideas and make plans on the fly. As great as conferencing software is, it simply cannot compare to the kind of intensive, hands on working environment they were all no doubt used to.
So yeah, even though the devs have made a lot of questionable decisions regarding gameplay, the fact that it could have used another year in development and probably should have, and even though it has a lot of annoying bugs and glitches, I'm still enjoying myself in spite of it all. Hopefully it will improve over time as they gradually patch things up.
PS: I almost forgot! The one thing they definitely did get right? The graphics which are amazing! I especially love seeing a facial expression during a cutscene and understanding exactly what the character is thinking. It's a means of communicating that goes beyond speech, transcends it in fact by being universal to humanity. It has never really been used in games like this before, at least not to this effect. Pretty impressive when you think about it and really adds to the immersion factor for me. Hats off to the team responsible for handling that!
@virtualawesome It's not that the same player is dying over and over again, but rather one particular player has died in your current vicinity and you keep getting messages about it every time you loot, read, open a door, etc. It began with patch 1.3.1, is obnoxious and apparently affecting everyone. You have three choices to stop it. Either do the quest, disconnect from the internet, or reload a recent save. Reloading has always caused the player to lose an avenge quest whether they've accepted it or not, even if it's partially completed, so this is probably the easiest option if you don't wish to do them.
On a side note, the extra XP you get from completing an avenge quest might not be the only reward you get. Often I'll take the quest and be told to kill enemies I've already eliminated. If one of those enemies was carrying treasure that you've already looted, like ingots and titanium for example, I've found the game will give you more when you confirm the kill for those particular enemies.
@kmarkopl I think it's more of a controller thing. I've found that if I'm not pressing the left stick straight up perfectly while scaling a wall, for example, Eivor will tend to climb diagonally. We've been given very little leeway controller-wise and a parkour system isn't very good at predicting where the player wants to go. These two things make for some seriously frustrating moments at times.
@ubi-theberry Okay, I guess I'm not as lazy as I thought I was. The comments really helped. I had no idea we could create shareable links via OneDrive which made sharing easier. The reality is that I'm security conscious and avoid signing up where possible, especially when it comes to social media. I don't see the point in giving away information to a corporate entity I'll likely use only once. So thanks everyone!

I actually have four or five videos showing this, all created over the course of about two hours. Maybe the dev team simply gave up too easily? This is the one that turned out the best I think. The challenge was getting it all to fit into the one minute time limit Microsoft imposes on us. Anyways this bug obviously doesn't happen all the time. I'd say it's a 50/50 thing and may have something to do with the Stomp skill. Sometimes the option would show up and sometimes it wouldn't, though even when it does they would sometimes still get stuck in that animation.
I've hunted high and low for posts by other gamers who've encountered this specific problem with the Man's Best Friend ability (level 2), but haven't been able to find any. Either I'm the only one experiencing this annoying issue, or very few people actually use this skill. Given all the problems folks had with getting it via the quest with Knud, as well as the huge number of posts by people seemingly confused as to how the skill actually works (i.e. needing to target an enemy first via LT), I'm going to go out on a limb and guess its the latter and not just me.
So the problem I'm encountering involves the wolf knocking enemies down and killing them. Sometimes the wolf glitches out and vanishes, other times it simply runs away like its supposed to, but the absolute worst aspect of this is how targeted enemies will often get stuck in the animation where they're writhing on the ground spurting blood. Enemies stuck like this cannot be killed or looted which has the potential to be game breaking. For example, I just had it happen to a treasure carrying enemy. Personally I love the wolf and use it often, especially against zealots where the guaranteed knock down is a big boon. Especially at ability level 2 where the wolf can do multiple knockdowns before vanishing.
I'm playing on the Xbox Series X and before you ask, there is no video, no screenshot and no specific place on the map where this happens (unless someone else feels up to doing it). You can test it for yourself by using level 2 of this ability to attack any of the enemies found roaming on any road. Yes, I know you'd prefer it if I did the work for you, but I'm every bit as lazy as the next guy. Besides, wouldn't it be better for you to see for yourself as the developer? Isn't it enough that I took the time to pay for the game, followed by logging in here to make you aware of yet another issue with AC Valhalla?
