My vote is "no" for paying for gear and loadouts...
That makes sense… so starting a thread asking how much play time one can expect from the game is a reasonable question. Or even asking if the game is much better now than at launch, is a good question (which is what the OP was originally asking). But titling your thread… Is this worth $X (where X is less than the cost of a pizza is)
But the game goes on sale for that much. I dont think i can fault a person for looking on the Ubistore, seeing that BP is on sale for only 10 dollars and asking "is BP worth 10 dollars?". Metal Gear Survive has started to go on sale for 10-15 dollars but i still wouldn't mess with that game. I've weighed the pros and cons of that game and its not worth it...even if it were to be given away for free i wouldn't waste my time on it. With BP even though it has lots of bad stuff it still has a few things that i like about it like the gunplay, graphics, and some of the outfits.
and now seems to be Call of Duty: Open World edition, and aimed at the lowest common denominator, just like CoD is
Nah...it's more like Assassin's Creed Odyssey: Ghost Recon Edition. A handful of times i've been on a forum dedicated to a Ubisoft game like Wildlands, Breakpoint or Far Cry. And i'll see someone commenting how that game feels like another ubisoft game. And i cant really call those people crazy because i get these same feelings too when i play Wildlands and to a greater extent Breakpoint (unless i'm crazy too). You have all these map locations in Breakpoint just like how AC: Odyssey does. You go to each location and it has a couple of objectives you have to do just like how Odyssey has kill 1 captain, kill 3 lieutenants, loot 4 chests, destroy 8 doohickies, free 10 whatstheirnames. In Breakpoint you loot chests, loot intel, loot collectibles, etc. I even saw a video of a dev talking about Breakpoints Behemoths and they described they as a "mythological creature" or something like that. They're taking concepts from one game and copying it into other games and just changing the coating of it. AC: Odyssey you have the eagle to scout around...Breakpoint you have the drone...Immortals Fenyx Rising you go to vantage points and unlock faraway locations (basically a stationary drone/eagle).
@schema86 dude i have owned GRB since day one and i like it yeah i get the whole why can't it be offline as sometimes you get really toxic players i understand that and wanting to play with a small group i agree but the actual online side brings us all together and we can make new friends and have fun as a bigger group it is just the toxic people that turn people away from such titles
Wanting to avoid "toxic players" isn't the only reason for wanting to play in offline mode. There are plently of reasons to want to play the game in singleplayer mode only and a lot of them have nothing to do with anything you said. But a singleplayer game/mode that always requires an internet connection is seen by a lot of people as a dumb design choice. Someone might not want that "always online" thing because maybe they have bad internet that goes down all the time, maybe they want to play the game on a travel laptop, maybe they have limited bandwidth. Plenty of reasons here too which again have nothing to do with people not wanting anything to do with "toxic players".
He was banned for no reason. Apparently now you can't criticize Ubi and their games even with a little humor because if you do you get banned. Gotta love the freedom of speech here
By the way where are all the mods? Ever since the new forum was created Toon and the other mods went AWOL. This forum feels dead and with mods not interacting or sharing any news makes it even worse. It's almost like they abandoned BP completely.
There's criticizing and then there is FCaCK who likes to go into almost every thread and steer it towards "Ubisoft doesn't know what they are doing" or whatever he liked to say. Between him and that one guy spamming the suggestions forum it's making me not want to come to these forums and look at what little discussion there is.
EDIT: i'm not trying to defend Ubisoft or anything like that. But FCaCK's constant stream of sarcasm/criticism makes me feel like he thinks we are all too stupid to see it with our own eyes.
I don't think Arma is up to a lot of Ghosts taste, but I know some will be looking forward to this. Let me know your thoughts!
With Arma Reforger having full mod support and what sounds like an easy bridge between Blender (3d software) and Arma Reforger you can tailor the game to meet your tastes.
Hey Ghosts,
There are a few things that love about it already, which is why I put a lot of hours into Arma 3 already. I mentioned Arma 3 because it's clear where it got its influence from which is obviously Ghost Recon 1.

Haven't tried it to see if it still works. Also FYI Ghost Recon 1 was released in 2001 and Operation: Flashpoint was also released in 2001. OFP was developed by Bohemia Interactive and Codemasters while Arma 3 was developed by just Bohemia Interactive. The two split somewhere along the way, dont know when or why. I think the devs inspirations for OFP even predates the Rainbow Six og game. I read it started during the Atari/Commodore days and they became more active as communism went away in Czechoslavakia. I looked it up just now and from what i gather they wanted to start making big open world games with vehicles and whatnot. Eventually they got the idea to add soldiers in there and the backdrop for what would become the OFP story was inspired by the events of the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslavakia.
but I've never felt as comfortable as I did with the Wildlands camera system.
Really? i'm the opposite...Breakpoint graphics dont bother me at all. But i can only play Wildlands for a little bit before i start getting headaches. I cant nail down the reason why if its how sharp the graphics are, the camera system, or something else that i dont know about.

@clemsondriver
While the whole 'high-risk-high-reward' concept may work for a pure looter shooter / rpg, it doesn't really work with a series like Ghost Recon, due to the premise of the series in the first place.
I personally feel that the main issue is that they tried to introduce pseudo looter-shooter and rpg-style mechanics into a series that has primarily been focused on near-future mil-sim and semi-tactical combat (for the later GR games that is. The OG GR games kicked [censored] in the tactics department). As a result the game basically came out half-baked with glitches that persist even today like enemy spawn issues (behemoths...) and REALLY crappy initial gameplay experience, and the backlash if you recall, basically caused Ubi stocks to tank after release.
Well that looter-shooter and rpg crap is what we're stuck with unfortunately so thats why i needed to explain to the OP the whole concept of high risk high reward.
Solo am fed up with being penalised for playing on my own, I was thankful for the introduction playmates but cannot use them in raids so penalised not allowed to play for Koblin, why can I not purchase in Maria's shop.
The greater the risk the greater the reward
That's not a concept unique to Breakpoint...lots of games and genres do it too. Think of a way for a solo player like yourself to get the same reward as a raid player with equal amount of risk then you can get the equal reward as them. Your suggestion of "purchase in Maria's shop" isnt what i would call a 'high risk high reward' situation. Games * have * done really hard solo content almost on the same difficulty level as group content. So just have to think of a way to do that for this game.

Rn, we have indie games that satisfying the fan wants (GB, RoN, HLL, etc.)
I'm kinda hoping that one of those indie games will have some sort of singleplayer gameplay that doesn't feel tacked on at the last minute. I haven't looked at any of the new fps games in weeks, but all i saw was multiplayer stuff.
Can they even sell NFT's of items with brand names?
If they want to sell an NFT item from AC: Odyssey of Kassandra's underpants i can see that. Or an NFT hat from Far Cry 6 with the wheelchair Chihuahua's pic on it. But what about selling an NFT item from Breakpoint of a Sig p320? or an H&K USP? or a Crye G3 outfit? can they even do that with NFT's? or are we just gonna get s**tty NFT items like the edgy looking wolves outfits?
