Screw it, I'll re-post here:
A buddy of mine somehow got anti cheat working on Arch back when the predator mission was live (btw: why this content got removed?) ... unfortunately I'm unable to reproduce this ever since.
I'm aware that this game is long dead to ubi, so is its sequel already, but according to epic and the infos about eac on linux it's up to the dev to activate it for each game. So, even if steam has to make the new arch based steamos used on the deck public, it wont solved this issue w/o ubi pushing an eac patch.
Guess it's the one game that keeps me on windows ...
Well, as I noted your "edit" at the start of your topic about you solved it - glad to hear. But: You almost got an unnecessary reply from me as I just saw it by reloading the page.
A general advice from some other forums: Don't edit posts after others have already replied to but rather post new informations as new reply. This way I would had noticed it way sooner before my cat accidentally reloaded the page.
Well, although I agree with you it would make sense if you clean out a base and collect supplies they should be persistent. But on the other hand this would lead you with an empty map.
Even when compared to reality: Tearing down a drug cartel or trying to bring down a countrys military will lead to new recruits which sooner or later refill the cleared bases.
Also: Even when going stealth .... but clearing an entire base with just a few operators? It's as TomClancy as splinter cell.
What may would had fit if it would take time for a base to get reclaimed after clearing or maybe even getting claimed by one of the other factions. It's also not like gta sa a specific region suddenly becomes active on its own but only where the currently is.
Maybe someday some dev studio comes up with something like wildlands but in a persistent way, maybe as mmorpg or something like this, maybe just with a small lobby size of up to 4-8 players, maybe co-op and/or pvp. There quite some ideas that may could get some playerbase.

If your NAT status shows "offline" you seem to have issues connecting to uplay services. This can be as simple as some not-so-optimal firewall settings in some security software (if you use any) to something you can't do about if it's an issue at your ISP.
Also: Do you try to run it on Linux with Proton? If so, use Proton-GE ... this should get you at least online - but be aware: Proton is not supported so you'll be kicked by anti cheat (cause ubi don't give a damn to patch in proton support - the game is dead to them).
