Thanks for the info, Ubi "fixed" the mission for me, but instead of resetting the whole damn thing they just force-moved the boar to where it should have gone, and without any marker I had no idea where the stupid thing was.
Hey Ubisoft, add map markers for known problematic (read: bugfest) world events, and let us reset the damn things if they haven't been marked as complete yet. I've since ran into even more buggy world events, to the point where I now make a habit of manually saving before even getting close to any world event so I can reload in case things go south. In the past 3 hours alone I've ran into 3 bugged world events requiring save/loads and multiple attempts -- the pregnant woman who wanted me to take her up the hill on horseback (refuses to get on the horse), the thief pretending to own a house and tricking you into helping him steal a brooch (mission can't progress - nothing happens after you fight) and the kid who stole a dead norseman's axe (kid glitched out and couldn't be talked to). And those are just the most recent ones - there are lots, LOTS more.
That's entirely possible, but in my case nothing so far has worked. I've tried restarting the game, save-loading multiple times, fast travel, progressing the story, and so forth. I started this world event back when my power level was less than 100; it is now ~260, and the event is still bugged. At this point it looks like nothing short of a complete reset of the world event would help, and I haven't been able to do that either.
Where to begin? So many bugs just from my personal experience alone.
World events are a glitchfest. To the point where I now make a point of manually saving before getting close to one. I still have a couple that are uncompletable.
Some chests/wealth are shown on the map before they're actually available to loot. Yes, even the small chests.
Bug with fabric collection -- can't pick up any more after maxing out rations and arrows, even though at least one altar asks for fabric.
Audio bugs galore -- sounds randomly not playing/cutting out, infinitely repeating sound effects, etc.
Quest/event NPCs just randomly dead after conversation. Seriously. No fight, no nothing, they just spawn dead right after the cutscene.
Infinite fall glitch -- careful where you parkour. Lost raid this way.
Eivor randomly refuses to move for seconds at a time -- died several times this way. Something wonky with the parkour code, it feels like.
Sometimes the game gets confused and puts Eivor in a state where he/she is constantly entering and leaving combat, indicated by loss and return of grey "stealth" veil, even without any enemies nearby.
All this just off the top of my head, and there's still sooo much more.
This world event is crazy buggy (like a lot of other world events). It doesn't need the Lunden story to be cleared -- I did it before I even touched the first quest in Lunden -- it's just bugged as heck. When I first got to the event, the guy wasn't even there, but seeing the jars and movable objects made me think the quest might involve getting into the blocked-off area, which I then did, but nothing happened. I saved and loaded (a go-to workaround when things start glitching out), and the guy spawned inside the warehouse and started yelling for help, as he should, except now the jars were spawning under the movable blocks, making them hover above ground and hence un-movable. So I just reloaded an earlier autosave and save-loaded until the warehouse guy spawned properly, then finished the event as intended.
While Ubi fixes all these bugged/glitched events, they need to give players a way to force-reset these events in case things go south. Fast-travel and save-load doesn't always work.
Does it happen most often with archers? If it does, it could be that the "loot" is actually just arrows, and if you already have full quivers you can't pick up any more arrows so it'll look like you looted nothing. Not sure if this is intended behavior or not.
There's a bug with fabric no longer dropping after you upgrade rations/arrows far enough. I had max rations, but was 1 upgrade short of max arrows. The final arrow upgrade needs 12 fabric, and I have had exactly that amount for a while. I started noticing that I wasn't getting any more fabric even though I was clearing higher-level areas (Jorvik and the region around it, and basically other regions where upgrade materials were silver-tier/nickel or gold-tier/tungsten). I then cleared an altar that required 5 fabric, so now I only have 7 fabric left. Well, turns out I'm *still* not getting any more fabric, so now I can't do the final arrow upgrade anymore. Definitely a bug/glitch going on here.
Well, bad news. Found the fabric altar, gave away 5 fabric to clear the mystery, then went around Eurvicscire looting chests. NO FABRIC. Either the game only lets you have a set number of fabric and some coder forgot to include the altar(s? Is there more than one?), or maxing your arrows and/or rations triggers a flag that disables further fabric drops.
Guess I'm not getting that arrow upgrade until Ubi fixes this mess.
Chiming in to add that I'm in the same boat, except I have only maxed out my rations -- my quiver is one upgrade short of max. The last quiver upgrade requires 12 fabric, and I do have 12 in my inventory, but I haven't been able to get any more fabric since. I'm now afraid to max out my quiver because I haven't run into the altar that requires fabric. Can anyone tell me where that altar is so I can try and check if I can get some more fabric if I complete that particular altar?
In the meantime I'm gonna try and remember to only loot minor chests in low-level areas.
These world events are bugfests. When I did this event the bear was nowhere to be seen, then suddenly glitched into existence as I approached the cave. Almost killed me too. Ubisoft needs to patch in a way for players to manually force reset these events in case things go wrong -- and things go wrong a LOT in this glitchfest of a game.
I've played further and fast traveled around more before coming back to the event area. Still bugged. Here's how it looks at the world event marker on the map:
and here's where the event is on the map in Essexe:
Here's the stuck boar; can't hit/kill it, can't push it, can't burn it, can't interact with it in any way (note the world event marker for this on the compass):
Here's where the boar is on the map (indicated by player position):
Tried everything I could think of, nothing works. Would really appreciate some help here Ubisoft.
It doesn't matter -- I (and other posters) have had this bug happen many, many times during raids. You can start the raid from the longship, you can ride/run there manually and blow your horn, same result. It's a problem with the companion/raider AI, and the game's raid programming in general, as I've had other issues during raids as well: CTDs, interaction prompts missing, enemies and allies staring at each other and not fighting for seconds at a time, and so forth and so on.
Only workaround is just to clear area of enemies, then run around a bit and try again. Failing that, reload earlier save and redo the raid.
Another report, another bug. This time it's a mystery/world event in Essexe, with a man and boar that supposedly can sniff out treasure. Started it way back when my power level was sub-100, but had to abandon it when I couldn't interact with the first "treasure" the boar dug up. I thought it would reset and I would just re-attempt later. Now I'm power level ~250 and went back to the area, and the world event has NOT reset. The boar is presumably still in the woods somewhere, but I don't even know where to look, since world events like these have no quest indicator/pointer. With how buggy some of these events are, maybe Ubi should provide us a way to reset them if things go wrong, as they clearly have in this case. Any suggestions on how I can fix this mess?
Yes, that usually works, except when it doesn't and I have to load an earlier save and do the raid again. Heck, I've even had a few CTDs during raids. What happens is the AI companions start doing their headless chicken thing, then suddenly button prompts to open doors/chests disappear, and then all of a sudden, CTD. It's like the game runs into so many bugs it just gives up and dies.
Seconding this. I have 5 raiders just running around like headless chickens while Eivor keeps trying to push the chest open. It's not just chests -- they sometimes refuse to open doors, too. Heck, sometimes the "force door" prompt doesn't even appear. And it's not just one raid, this has happened multiple times now. I don't have a consistent workaround; sometimes they'll just start working after a while, sometimes I'm forced to reload a save and try again. Very frustrating, please fix ASAP.
@ubi-baron It's the closest anomaly from the Raven clan settlement at the start of the England arc. I went to it after picking up the closest sync point from said settlement since it was the nearest blue dot. This is all in the starting English area, Ledecestrescire. It's the same anomaly shown in this youtube video(not mine):
Hope this helps.
Alright, I managed to complete the anomaly. What worked for me was to exit to desktop, start the game up again and reloading an earlier save -- which was when I picked up the nearby sync point. Quit to menu and reloading didn't work. Gonna leave this up here in case anyone else runs into the same problem.
Playing on PC, version 1.0.2. Got to the first anomaly in Ledecestrescire and started it; made it to the final puzzle was unable to progress any further. For some reason when I approached one of the lightbeam emitters the whole anomaly glitches out -- the lightbeam directions seem to change randomly, and I am no longer able to interact with the emitters. There is then no way to progress to what I assume is the goal of that particular anomaly sequence as all unstable blocks are now gray and I can't move any emitters to turn them blue. Am gonna try reloading earlier save and retrying the anomaly to see if the same bug happens again. Will report back in a bit.
