@altenbach
We both know that the problem is terrible VRAM requirments, managment and optimization yes? Ubisoft do nothing from 2 months with this fix. In the meantime just upgrade my specs. Just stating a fact that now Far Cry 6 running without any issues. I can tell you, playing in 1080p, all on ULTRA and HDTP enabled, game taking 7-8 GB VRAM, not more - so I don't know why UBI inflate overall requirments to 11-12 GB VRAM. This is sick and I've asked - why on my latest GTX 1660 with 6GB cannot playing with HDTP like in FC5 cause game drop constantly after some minutes? Whhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?
Just remember that the in-game GB counter is wrong.
Install MSI Afterburner (set it up so you see the Vcard memory usage) and actually play the game, and you will see the real GB being used by the video card is ~11-12GB.
Yeah, some help.
Just the same questions over and over again.
After I play the last dlc, I am deleting the game and never coming back to it.
Fix the user issues before your laundry list of what AMD wants, or what egs wants.
NOT buying your next game (this from a LONG time supporter of both Ubi games and Uplay), Take both AMD's and egs' money and run, huh? Try going back to being a good dev studio again w/o taking anybody elses money, and make another good, quality, PC game, like the last 2 Ghost Recon's (Wildlands and Breakpoint), and Farcry's all the way up to 5, and stop taking money and making promises to do what the money men ask, and decide for yourselves again. IE: Go back to making fun, playable "PC" game again, for PC users (ALL of then, not just your target demographic console kiddies who play on PC with controllers).
When you do that, I will be back. Otherwise, goodbye Ubisoft.
Oh, and the answer is yes, it still does it after the patch, and it will continue to do it no matter how many times you reply. And no, I am done wasting my time both with the videogame and the tennis game you people are playing on these forums.
Yeah, textures are fine, IF you are within a few feet of them, otherwise they are blacked out.
I don't know if ubisoft will solve the problem. I hope so but don't expect anything.
Definitely the last game I bought from this company.
based on the current situation i have to say: goodbye ubisoft and welcome dying light 2
Well, get ready for DL2 to be worse than FC6.
Hidden keybindings (sound familiar Ubisoft? ), harcoded keys (again, sound familiar?), broken/hardcoded mouse bindings, and denuvo thrown in days before release.
Oh, and it also has stuttering issues.
Sure, but I just finished the game earlier today, so probably wont be playing it again, except for the next/last dlc.
Thanks.
So, does that file contain my KeyBinding settings also?
If so, no way am I going to delete it and spend upwards of 3 hours trying to re-create them so I have the exact same bindings again, when I could be playing.
If not, then I will try it.
But, I know the Tobii is connected to the Controller (which I dont have, never have. KB/M only here) and unless the devs can make the Controller totally OFF, instead of half on half off (Auto-Aim, Snap to Target, etc), this will not solve the issue.
Yep, asked and he said NO.
Sorry, what I have posted is all there is.
Well, its back with the Pagan update.
19-10900kf
32gb memory
3090 24gb video card
3x M.2 cards, no mechanical drives.
HD pack installed.
900mb to 55gb pagefile dedicated.
It seems as soon as you hit Escape, or I for Inventory, or M for Map, that this starts acting up.
Its a menu ui memory leak. Or like a poster above said, something getting loaded to memory or vcard that isnt supposed to.
Well, I just played the regular game, and no hitching, but there are some very low dips to the 50's (and my max/average frames dropped from 90's to 70's).
But, the good news is that it seems to be limited to the Pagan dlc (for me anyway) now.
@DrWest644
I agree.
There is nothing but repeats of questions going on since the game came out, and way too many users are having the same issues.
Its very frustrating.
And I bought the (Gold?) edition pre-order, so its worse for me, especially since my rig is well over the recommended specs.
I am going to start playing RE:Village or In Sound Mind instead.
Better than playing this 'Tennis' game with support.
Sigh.
Severely frustrated.
I can ask, but he doesnt do video's, and has kids and a wife, and an over-full-time job, so I can say 100% that he wont do it, or even create an account here.
I said that in my op.
Sorry, just going to have to log it and see if it shows up anywhere during testing.
I do know that he has an i7-9900k, 32gb memory, 3080 video card, and a 21:9 widescreen monitor, but thats about all I know, besides he has finished the game and I have not finished 1 major land area/missions yet (but am close to finishing 1 land), and he connects to me (after I send him a message) via Uconnect friend invite, and I have my FC6 game set to invite only.
Thats about all the info you can expect.
I will try to get him to send me a screenshot though, but he may not even do that.

Hello @UbiSupportStaff.
I have already verified the game files a couple/few weeks ago and updated my video drivers to the latest last week, and did the list of what-not's in that article, and it does not matter.
As for me connecting to him, I was hoping to play with him today, but he was not available, so I just played the Pagan dlc by myself. I have all 3 of my major camps, but I still have not finished even the 1st area yet (not the 1st island, but the 3 major areas/land) according to my buddy. So it may be next year until I actually finish the game at this pace, and I dont want my game to crash and maybe get corrupted until I finish the game, so yeah it may be a very long time until I connect to him (but, I think I DID connect to his game one time when he 1st got the game and was close to where I was at the time), maybe thats when all this started. I dont know. I game so infrequently, and I had the game pre-installed the day before it go released.
@UbiSupportStaff.
No problem.
But, another issue is back with todays (or whenever the Pagan Min dlc came out, for me its today, lol) dlc.
I am back to the game showing 6.xx being used, AND it says out of 12GB. Not 24GB like it used to say with the Dec. update, but now it says 12GB.
Also, the Pop-in issue is SUPER bad, Like, 2 feet away bad. The textures are not loading properly at all in a timely manner.
Also, the shadows are TERRIBLE. Rocks on the ground (3-5 of them together on the ground, no matter on a beach scene, or in-the-grass scene, or mountains scene, they look like a jumble of roundish black objects until you get 2 feet away from them. Also, the lighting Pop-in texture is a hot mess also (I actually have a couple of screenshots of kind of both issues, but it is inside the tunnels/caves of the Pagan Mims dlc. Look at the black that should be shadows, and then think a pile of rocks anywhere in the game, either in direct sunlight, moonlight, any light. Just black shapes until you almost stand on them (much worse than pictured, because this is close-up pics). Same exact game settings, nothing has changed except the dlc.
3840x1600 is my resolution, as posted above. 144hz. Max FOV (but it does it at default fov also, so it doesnt matter).
The game automatically changes the FOV to whatever situation is going on, while playing the game (the game engine does this automatically based on what is going on, and no, I checked, my fov is still set at the highest possible setting (104? 109? Sorry, today is the 1st time I have been up out of bed since my last post, and saw the new 2nd dlc and played that instead of the regular game, and that doesnt have any cutscenes in it, and I am checking my posts before going back to bed).
The game engine changes it in the engine, not in the settings ui. You know, like when you are walking the fov and resolution are correct, but when you go into a base camp (yours, not an enemy camp) it goes to 3rd person. THAT is the engine switching the fov and/or resolution. Or walking/running it is fine, but when you get into ANY vehicle (or on a horse), it switches to a different view and fov and resolution (although with the latest patch, the horse isnt that bad anymore, its just the vehicles, cutscenes, and bases now). Or, when it switches to a cutscene (no matter what you were doing before), it shows a small cutscene in a different resolution (guessing 1920x1080, because it is so small) with black bars all around it, just like the link I posted to another person on the forums that uploaded his screenshot further up this thread.
Its the way the game was developed, and if you tell the programmers (devs) that, they will know exactly what you are saying. They know. They programmed it.
It doesnt matter the video settings on ultrawidescreen monitors (although the game is set to my single monitor, I do NOT have multiple monitors, and the fov is at max, although that doesnt matter because it did the same thing at Default fov and at fov = 90), it is a widescreen/Ulra-Widescreen gaming issue that the devs never fixed. Trust me, they know HOW to fix it, and they know WHY it is like that, but I dont know why you guys/gals keep asking for more info. I have given my screen resolution and fov (heck, I have posted my whole rig specs before), and I KNOW they know what is going on. No developer of a video game can say they dont understand what is going on.
Sorry, not mad, just aggitated that this keeps bouncing back and forth, when I know they have logged the bug already, before shipping, and I have VERY limited time to game (like, 1-2 times a week, or every other week, or in 3 weeks) because I am disabled, and all these bug logging I have done really eats into my game time, which I dont have much of, and I have a LOT of games (New and older) I have never played or have not finished, not just FC6. What takes others a few minutes to do, could/usually takes me 10-20x longer to do.
Next time I am on, I will try to get screenshots, although you cant really tell from a screenshot except the cutscene issue. Well, maybe you can, but it would probably be best looked at in a video (which I have NO intention of doing, nor CAN I do a video). The best bet at reproducing the issue is to actually spend money on a monitor that has the issue (mine is an Acer Predator X38), and play the game on a machine without ANY dev tools installed, nothing but os/motherboard/video card/peripheral/game drivers and an ulra/widescreen monitor. Not in vmware, not on a console, not on a dev or engineer machine, not on 1920x1080 or 4k, maybe on their kids gaming machine with an ultra/widescreen monitor like the one I said I have.
As for the cutscene issue, again, its exactly the same as the other poster in the link. I doubt I would remember trying to even get a screenshot DURING a cutscene, since those tend to be SUPER immersive (except with black bars. Only because its the only different thing going on in the game after 15 hours of gameplay, the game gets pretty repetitive).
I have 2 screenshots of my video layout, Quality setting, so I will upload what I have and get the rest later (I think these were taken last week or 2 weeks ago, so dont mind the build number. The Monitor one will be todays that I get and post later).
EDIT:
OK, I uploaded Advanced video pic, and Monitor also.
After this, I am done.
I am moving on to another game if these stuttering and widescreen and texture loading issues dont get fixed pretty quickly.
I am getting too frustrated over gameplay issues that should not have been issues on release day, and all this time later its the same thing: Can you provide us more info? Then provide, then next time: Can you provide us more info? Ad-Infinitum.
Sorry, I know you are only doing your job, but the devs arent doing theirs, and are fobbing all this back and forth like a Tennis match, just so they can get the next dlc out and then forget the game and on to the next.
Too buggy to play, too frustrated to play anymore.
I will respond to each of my bugs one more time, but if its another 'More info' then I am done with these forums and the game.
Way too frustrated. 4 hours to get, rename pics, upload them, and give all the info you guys ask for, when I could have been gaming for all that time.
O M G am I dumb! (really, I am old and blind and colorblind, lol, and in Dark Mode it just looks all gray to me).
Thank you. Very much.
And Yes I have a compatible Corsair product, No I dont have any MSI product (even Afterburner was only on my system while troubleshooting a graphics card issue long ago, then it was Uninstalled), and No I dont have a Controller (never have, never will). I Do have Colorblind mode on. No Tobii or any other tracking, no VR anything, and no bluetooth anything..
Here are the shots:
Hello.
Reporting a bug I have forgotten about until today when my buddy reminded me of it.
But, since the launch of the game, when he joins my game, and we fast travel to anywhere, HE loses his mini-map AND map/Locations/etc, until we go to a new area, then it magically comes back for him.
My mini-map (I always host) and map are unaffected. I have them all the time.
But, since he drives/fly's most of the time, and he CANT see any markings on the map (quest items, locations, etc), AND his mini-map disappears, it is a pretty big issue, since he has no idea where we are going. If I place a waymarked on where we are going, he can see that on his map, but still with no mini-map at all he has to rely on me telling him to go north, or right, or left, until his mini-map comes back (and the ability to see things/locations/quest markers, etc on the regular map).
Please dont ask for a screenshot, because he lives in a different state than I do, and I cant seem to post pic's on this forum anyway.
And, its easy to reproduce:
PC
He joins my game.
We start playing.
Eventually we fast travel somewhere.
He loses his mini-map (gone, nowhere to be seen on his monitor).
He loses the ability to see any quest markings/locations on the regular map.
We ride/fly where we are going.
At some point, the game resets (probably a new area that needs to be loaded into memory), and BAM! He has his mini-map back on-screen and the ability to now see quest items/locations/etc on his regular map.
Thank you.
Its not our computers or monitors.
The developers made the cutscenes in 16:9 (and probably a single 4k) ONLY. This means that the cutscenes ONLY PLAY in that resolution, and our monitors are neither 16:9 or whatever 4k images they used, so we get a tiny window with black bars around it.
The developers need to patch the game to UPSCALE the cutscenes to the proper resolution.
This is what happens when you either:
A. Outsource QA to a crummy qa facility with very strict rules on what they can and cant test (and, these qa facilities are limited by whatever hardware they have, which is usually the exact same hardware for every tester).
B. Have in-house QA testers that are limited by whatever hardware they have, which is usually the exact same hardware for every tester.
C. Only the Developers tested the game while they were writing the code.
D. Used the game engines default setting to create cutscenes.
E. Outsourced (or In-House-Sourced to another dev studio) the CutScenes and only tested them on certain hardware.
F. Knew about this issue long before releasing the game because most people have consoles and this hits the middle of the road people (where-as we who have 21:9 or higher are the few percenters, not the norm), and are now either trying to play catch-up, or trying to never fix the issue, because well they have patches and DLC and this is low on the priority list (which is understandable, crashes are priority 1, and this issue is for the meager percent of people who have over 16:9). ((( THIS. And we probably will never get a fix either, or get it long after we have finished the game)))
G. Or, multiple, most, or all of the above. Compared to crashes (like I said above), connectivity issues, game not displaying properly at all, gameplay breaking issues, Coop, etc etc etc, this is very low on the priority list.
Sorry if it seems like I am attacking the Devs or Ubi, I am not, and certainly dont mean to come off like I am. But, I worked as a Software QA Tester for 14 years, and I know of which I speak.
This game should never have shipped like this. It should not be difficult to scale a cutscene to a resolution.
BTW:
My resolution is:
3840 x 1600
Hello.
I got the updates, I verified the game files, and I still have Tobii set to On (and, even 'Controller' in multiple places is actually not only On, but I can set settings, they are not grayed out, and I have never, ever, ever had a controller on any of my computers, let alone my latest one that is running FC6). As of today, 12/31/2021 ( Happy New Year everyone!! ).
I have no idea how to upload the screenshots though?
I am using a computer browser, and usually there is an Upload option somewhere, but I cant find it on this site.
(I have the save screenshots in .jpg format, but I dont use twitter, facebook, or any of the 'social' media, and a search through the @ubisoft forum and trying through UConnect doesnt show anything about uploading screenshots). THANKS!
Yeah, my screen shows that I am only going to use 4.xxGB to 6.8GB out of my 24GB video card (3090) also (I dont know why it just throws up random numbers between 4 and 6GB).
But, when I check with msi afterburner, it shows 12.xxGB being used.
The game video calculator is broken.
It even happens when I am RUNNING the game, then go to options, then it still shows anywhere from 4.xxGB to 6.xxGB needed.
Game runs good now though after the 3 patches, except when I am looking around fast, in a vehicle, or in the items menu's, I still get hitching happening, but no more micro-stutter (yay)!!!
EDIT:
Well, the game now recognizes my 24GB video card!
But, it still states it only needs (it went up) 7.xxGB to play.
Hello.
Sorry, today was the 1st day I was able to game, and I totally forgot to get screenshots.
I am disabled, and lately can very rarely game, and when I do I am just thinking about playing the game, not trying to get screenshots or anything.
I havent forgotten this issue, and it still occurs, but I have not had any time to game at all, and forgot to get screenshots.
I will try to get them the next time I play (tonight killed me, so maybe I will be able to play is 3 to 5 days).
