Was wondering what others felt about the decision again to have very limited exploration music. The decision to bring back Jesper Kyd again seemed like a great opportunity to bring back more consistent exploration music like the older games seemed ideal. Like origins and odyssey however, it's used so sparingly.... And makes exploration seem slightly lifeless and dull. Even the high setting in the settings menu does little to solve this.
I imagine Jesper Kyds ambient tracks in the older games were a reason why the games are remembered so fondly.
It's a bizarre decision in my opinion given how similar games such as the witcher 3 and skyrim have consistent music scoring to enhance the experience and ubisoft felt giving players the opposite was the best move.
@ubikobold this is absolutely an issue for me and plenty others. Given how much you can explore within this 6 minutes before triggering an event, there is some players who simply will barely hear any exploration music. It is there, and is incredible but if this is a design choice then it is simply bizarre
@leolionhunt totally agree with how terrible a design choice it is.... Especially given how good the music is and bringing jesper kyd back
Odyssey and origins were equally bad I found though. Barely played.
I feel your pain. From what I've measured in the "high frequency" the soundtrack plays every 5 minutes roughly of in game exploration. This can be interrupted however by events and missions etc then that 5 minute break starts again..... So you could go hours without hearing music theoretically if you are engage in missions and events often.
It's an absolutely terrible design choice frankly.
It's strange that you have heard no music at all though. Could be a bug but there have been huge complaints by many about how the soundtrack barely plays during exploration
I've have made my own post on the forum regarding this, but completely agree..... There is a huge lack of exploration music..... Why??
