I like this new system and diversity of all activities you have like :
In Odyssey all we had was destroying war supplies and looting treasures and tombs, same with Origins with addition of those quest where you need to find right sign in the stars.
Also another simple but good thing is those doors.
Some of them need key to be unlocked , some of them are barred and you need to figure out how to open them from another side, some of the walls need to be destroyed by shooting heavy objects above , some needs to be blown out with oil jars . Point is its never too simple and you need to explore a little , use your brain to figure out how it works so all this is a little riddle and its rewarding when you finally figure it out.
I am really enjoying Valhalla which is now my favorite AC game of all time and in my top 3 games of all time .
So 124 hours and I finally managed to finish AC Valhalla , and what a journey it was . Magnificent game , easily best in the series and in my top 3 favorite games of all time together with Witcher 3 and God of war 2018.
I must say I didn´t expect the game would be this good , nor did I expect it will be better than Odyssey so I was really pleasantly surprised with everything Valhalla had to offer : huge open world , settlement , many different activities , great story , raids , and many puzzles . Its surely a game I will replay many times in future and I am looking forward to new content and DLC .
Finally great viking game we deserved , my gratitude to Ubisoft for this amazing game and for constantly improving their AC games from Origins to Odyssey, and from Odyssey to Valhalla. I am really glad you offered us opportunity to explore Egypt , ancient Greece and play as vikings.
SKAL !!!
Each barred door or weak wall is a puzzle that needs to be solved properly , thats the beauty of this game and I am really glad this exploit was fixed I even send ticket to Ubisoft where I ask them to patch this. Nice thing they did.

I'm so happy that you are happy dj0rdje12. I'm sure it was very traumatic for you to have to suffer the knowledge that other players could open some doors in a single player video game. You are so strong and thank you for submitting your ticket to ubisoft. Meanwhile, I paid $100 for the game and I can't even play sections of it because it's so bugged and broken. But who cares right? those doors are locked now that's what matters.
Thank you my friend I am glad you are happy because of me. Also thanks for praising my strength , I feel like true drengr .
It pains my heart to know you ( and others ) suffer because of game breaking bugs that wont allow you to progress in this game. I know that I would certainly be very upset and probably angry , especially considering I really like the game and that would prevent me from enjoying it.
As I said those barred doors are puzzles and puzzles are like bosses . The more challenge , difficulty , suffering bosses offer ,the bigger is satisfaction after you defeat them after all that struggle. So same is with puzzles you feel similar satisfaction after solving them . Using exploit to solve them takes away that good, proud fealing, so I would like them to be removed and let the game be played properly .
I hope future updates will solve your and other issues that prevents you from making progress in main story.
@jmetch
I own Valhalla, but not Cyberpunk. I don’t actually have any hardware capable of running Cyberpunk properly (despite the fact that Cyberpunk was originally being developed for the generation of console that I have). It’s a good thing I cancelled my preorder for it months ago.
Valhalla is disappointing. It runs okay for me. It’s just boring, Cyberpunk goes way beyond disappointing for me. It’s shockingly bad. I had more faith and respect for CDPR than I’ve ever had for any other developer. That’s gone.
One has to wonder what’s wrong with the gaming world when Bungie moves into my top developer spot.
Out of those 3 last AC games that introduced RPG elements and big open world Origins is easily the most boring game ( not saying game is boring not at all but compared to those 2 it is) both in story and especially in side events and content. No need to mention the world has too much sand so landscape is also the worst for me. Combat in origins is just too simple without special abilities that makes combat more interesting.
Valhalla has the best side events with many diverse activities and the very large amount of puzzles , so those 2 easily put it above both Origins and Odyssey.
What is point of these weapons when you must complete 95 % of the game to even get them . Shouldn´t those items be available earlier to actually have opportunity to use them and get some benefits that would help you during rest of playthrough.
I really dont understant what is real point here .
Things I noticed :
Thing that didnt change :
I have a bug of my own in this regard, during the quest mistress of the iron wood, I acquired the roots and brought them back to find the house missing as well as its occupants. The quest marker is still there but the women is not. Is there a fix?
That is not bug its part of Jotun magic, you need to walk around stone circle on ground to activate magic and house will become visible again . I just did that 2 hours ago.
The long waiting has finally paid off. I did not think next AC game would be better than Odyssey which I really loved. The summary of things I like in AC VAlhalla :
2 . combat
I enjoy new fighting style with dual wielding , return of shields , introduction of weak points of enemy , and I really love new weapon flail. Also different type of enemies who attack in different ways with different weak points is also plus.
3 . Mini puzzles with doors and walls.
What I love is that opening doors and walls require exploration and little brain work . Some doors need key to be open others are barred and need to find a spot how to shot them , other walls need to be blown up with oil jars or destroyed with falling heavy objects. Its simple thing but also rewarding, you get that small amount of satisfaction after solving those mini puzzles that doors represent.
4 . Graphics , Eivor and story is really good.
Graphics is really amazing I like that we have snowy region Norway with beautiful mountains and astonishing polar lights at night time. Story so far is really great cant say that much yet. Eivor is great character, I play as female because it have really badass voice fitting for female viking .
5 Raids and assaults .
This part of game is really amazing far better than conquest battles in Odyssey which were just too simple and always on open field. Great how you start from your ship sounding your war horn , landing and advancing together with your crew. Like how you must joint efforts with crew to break some doors and loot treasures. Unlike conquest battles they dont take place on open field which makes them extremely bland , you can and must enter different buildings making bigger immersion . Love introduction of ramming and breaking gates during big assaults.
6 . other small things
Overall its really epic game I really enjoy playing it , I hope bugs will be fixed soon so we can all enjoy this amazing game.
For me this is best AC game ever , so many different activities , mini puzzles , great story , I have 117 hours into it and still did not complete it but I think I am almost there.
Really love when game exceeds my expectations.
@katzenkrimis71
OK thanks!
but you can't even save two games? old match. new game (and take them back at will depending on how I like?)
Yes you can ( unless there is some glitch that prevents you ) you can have 2 different manual saves with 2 different games.
For me its Glowecestrescire and Snotinghamscire arcs .
@orcbeard92
I totally understand what you mean, but as long as the new RPG games don't give us a better story than the one of Ezio or Edward, I see no huge advantage in the new games.
I have no problem with the RPG way of AC but the stories just got stretched in those games. The best one for me was Origins because they focused on one character without the useles option to choose a male or female.
I know that we have the bureaus and all the little hints in Valhalla but I also know that Darby McDevitt wrote all this assassin related stuff and really wanted to implement it. When he would not have been there, I think Valhalla would have no references at all.
As I said before: Ubisoft can stretch the limits of an assassin with every game. Eivor could be the viking assassin who mixes the subtle assassin way, with brute force viking ways. No problem at all. At least we have an assassin play and get this great feeling of being an assassin. It really cant be that we dont play an assassin for 3 games in assassins creed. This starts to get laughable to me. When they want to make mythological games, Ubisoft should make a new IP like Immortals and put all their crazy monsters in those games and let AC be more grounded.
I really disagree with you about story , I find the story in Valhalla to be the best in entire series mainly because it tells so many different stories of other NPC characters. In Valhalla the main focus is not on you assassinating someone but you making alliance , so the focus is on others , so they tell their own story and you are there to help .
In start we had great arc showing how vikings put their own puppet king in Mercia , then we had to help Soma take back small town and help her investigate to find traitor , In East Anglia we had story about future king finding his inner strength and his struggles to unite vikings and Saxons , we have nice love story in another region , another great story about father and son who does not want to rule after him. In summary we have collections of different stories from different people not just story of our main character reaching his goal.
Also Valhalla has great stealth not sure why people are complaining :
The only difference is its completely optional no one is forcing you to use them in previous game you had 1 option to enter certain area and that was stealth now you have 3
I find Valhalla to be best AC game .
The last 3 assassins creed game are my favorite in series and in my top 15 games ever (maybe even top 10 ) because they changed combat , introduced RPG elements and huge open world . For me Valhalla is the best AC game and my second favorite game of all time after Witcher 3 . I would rank them Valhalla > Odyssey >>Origins . The only thing Origins has over those 2 is main character and everything else is worse in my opinion but its still great unique game that allows us to explore Egypt.
I will explain what I found good in Odyssey and in Valhalla.
Good thing about Odyssey is :
Good things about Valhalla are :
They are similar games but Valhalla simply has more side activites , has many puzzles , great stealth , settlement and better story . Thats it those are my reasons why I would put it above Odyssey.
What is point of these weapons when you must complete 95 % of the game to even get them . Shouldn´t those items be available earlier to actually have opportunity to use them and get some benefits that would help you during rest of playthrough.
I really dont understant what is real point here .
I beat the game month ago but I forgot to ask this question.
Why we are not given option chose to kill or spare king Alfred in the end of final mission ? Everything he did in entire game gets forgiven within some 5 minutes talk. This is stupid and we should have been given option to chose or at least be able to kill him in DLC.
I forgot to ask this question.
Do others have little problem with draw distance , I mean smaller grass and plants wont appear unless you are 5 - 10 meters near them. Is this problem everybody has on PS4 consoles and other platforms or its just mine problem ?
@kormac67 Um, say WHAT? Valhalla is way bigger than Odyssey?!? In what way?
It is it took me 120 + hours to complete entire map ? marks , every main and side quest and beat both DLC ( I did not clear entire DLC map but did Greece one )
It also took me 120 + hours to finish Valhalla and this was without DLC , Main story of Valhalla around 1/5 longer than Odyssey.
For example lets say person has a bug and cant continue like in AC Valhalla . So when patch comes out does person with bug has to start another playthrough and patch will make sure bug will not appear again or will patch offer him solution immediately ?
I really had to inform people that Valhalla , Odyssey and Origins are only 64 $ on PS store for PS4/PS5. I own those 3 games already but offer is really amazing .
