I installed Assassin's Creed Origins and played that, to see if I had a similar issue. Sure enough, while the game started out running perfectly fine, it eventually got to the point where it dropped to as low as ~7-8FPS. Like with Odyssey, these lags lasted maybe 10 seconds, give or take, then the game returned to a normal pace, but the longer I kept playing, the more frequently these drops started to happen.
I should also mention that this is the same issue, more or less, that I also had with Valhalla as far back as a month ago, which leaves me to believe this is an issue on Ubisoft's part; or perhaps with Ubisoft Connect? However, with Odyssey, I tried running it without Ubisoft connect in the background, and I still was getting lags.
I installed a non-Ubisoft game (The Witcher 3), and this too had the same issues. The game plays fine for about 20-30 mins, then the FPS drops start happening, then continue to happen more and more often if I continue playing. So, I'm guessing this is an issue that is more based off my PC (graphics card, maybe?) than it is anything on Ubisoft's end. Still, I'll keep looking into this and see if I can truly find out what is causing this stuff.
Hi there, again. I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've listed, but I think I've done everything you listed. I did update my Nvidia driver, and I actually downgraded my operating system from Windows 11 to Windows 10 (which I believe helped a bit).
For the FPS, the game runs quite smooth when I first start, but, as I continue playing, the average rate drops from maybe around 50-60 to something more like 40 or so; with periodic drops to as low as maybe around 5 (which is when the game has noticeable lag). The ~5FPS lags then last maybe about ten seconds, before returning back to average (~40, maybe a little more, as previously stated), but then keep happening periodically, and I think more and more often the more I continue playing the game, thus why it's such an issue for me.
Again, I'm especially curious if any other plays have experienced similar issues, when playing the game, especially on PC and for Steam? If others can attest to this same problem, I'm willing to bet the issue is on Ubisoft's side, in which case I'm willing to put up with it or wait for them to patch it. But first I need to know for sure that it isn't any problems on MY end.
I believe I've done everything listed there.
I'm more so curious if any OTHER players of the game have experienced anything like what I've described? Because if they have, too, I'm guessing this might be an issue on Ubisoft's side, or an issue with the PC port.
Is anyone else having an issue with this game, where, it generally runs fine, but frequently suffers major drops in FPS for maybe ten seconds or so, before returning to normal; and then continues doing this maybe every few minutes? I reinstalled this game back on Sunday, and have been having this issue ever since. Is there anything I can possibly do to fix this; or is it an issue on Ubisoft's end?
I have an RTX 2060 Nvidia graphics card, and running the game on Windows 10, if anyone is curious.
I've reinstalled and have been trying to play Odyssey for about a week now, only to find that the game, while technically running smooth enough on average, keeps suffering from constant FPS drops the more I continue to play. Like, the game will be running perfectly smooth, then suffer a severe drop in FPS for maybe 10-20 seconds, before returning to normal.
Is this anything like the issue you (or anyone else?) have been having?
Crashing hasn't been a huge issue for me, but, has anyone else experienced constant on-and-off drops in the game's frame rate? Playing on Ultra High settings, on PC, the game runs perfectly fine initially, but the longer I play for, the more frequently it starts to experience these frequent drops in frame rate. To the point that the game is almost unplayable for me...
Anyone else having this issue, or know of any solution?
I tried the things you listed, and none of them seemed to fix the issue. I even tried playing the game on Low settings, and I'm still getting lags/drops in FPS.
Anyone else out there having this issue? Again, I could swear the game ran just fine in the past, but now, more recently, I seem to be getting constant on-and-off lagging.
Since yesterday or the day before, I've noticed, when playing "Assassin's Creed Valhalla", that the game occasionally, suddenly starts to lag/has a noticeable drop in frame rate. The game technically runs fine most of the time, but these periodic drops/lags, none the less, kinda ruin the experience for me.
I have a Dell G7 laptop, with:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card
Driver version 497.09
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz
15.82 GB RAM
1920 x 1080 60Hz
I should also note that this is happening when I play the game on all the highest settings (haven't really tried lower settings yet); but in the past I've been able to play it on the highest settings with zero issues until now.
Can anyone possibly explain to me what the issue might be?
