What is their to discover? Please enlighten me, Yeah you can build buildings in the game ,make a real nice town, but you can't interact with anyone,at least other than buying or selling something.Exactly what is the point of the cartographer? In the last game I played I never went to the cartographer once, and when I finally did there was one map available, all the others I had found on my own.The cartographer would have been much more effective if these were maps that held secret areas.Selling maps to areas that are already available on the map is stupid. The fishing is still bugged.the weapons and outfits are garbage and a complete waste of time to even bother with. You notice how in this game your life doesn't go back up like Odyssey and Origins, well just check out the Hels Damnation pack, you'll see the health is restored when the weapon is ignited, just have to pay 20 more dollars.Anyone want to lay odds that an outfit pack will be coming that negates fall damage?Just check out the Nilfheim pack, another 20 dollars and you can see some real critical damage!Valhalla was built completely around the helix store and will continue to be every 2 weeks when a new outfit will appear with stats that used to be normal....and FREE in the game!
This game has so far demonstrated nothing more than common greed.Anyone willing to bet me that when the next patch is released fishing will still be bugged, that the harpoon impalement will still hit only one out of 4 times if that.Every other Tuesday something new is put in the helix store that's working perfectly yet this game has been bugged since release,no patches for us!I wouldn't even classify this game as mediocre with all the problems it's experiencing, not too mention a non existent reward system with laughable ...I can't even call them armor without laughing so let's just call them rags.Has anyone even noticed that the hel's damnation pack has been in the store since release but has yet to be at Reda.No Origins and Odyssey were much better than this game Where the minds of the developers were on creating a fun game for the players, not just selling new outfits every 2 weeks!
For all Assassins Creed has taken from The Witcher 3 it just couldn't copy it's soul, it's ability to engage the players and literally give them something they've never seen before. The biggest problem for Valhalla at this point is no replayability what soever, there's nothing through the entire game for the player to say "wow, I want to play that again" instead, you're left disappointed, and not just from the numerous bugs within it, but with the lack of a good story or anything remotely exciting to do.not too mention it just sucks to have to keep starting from scratch, you actually dread replaying it not look forward to it. When I played through Odyssey ,I played continuously through all the content as well and I was never bored, and that game started 5 weeks earlier then Valhalla. After 2 months with Valhalla I quit playing,I had to to keep from burning out on so little to do or I wouldn't bother with the dlc. This game is a huge step back from Odyssey and Origins as well. And for people who keep saying "its to early to judge because more content is coming" A game is always judged through the base game because that is where the continuity has to come from to reach the new content. besides the fact that that statement alone pretty much mirrors the opinion the game doesn't have enough to sustain.
I've really reached the end of my rope with Ubisoft and their selective nonsense. Through 3 patches now several things in the game are still plagued with problematic bugs, fishing, the Mari lawd set still not coming off, and geez so many more! I keep seeing the same excuse given by their staunch supporters"you have to be patient, covid's really affected them."Well I got news for you covid has affected the entire world, Ubisoft is just fortunate to have a bank account deep enough to deal with it easier than the rest of us,not to mention covid doesn't seem to have affected their ability to continue grossly overpriced microtransactionsAt a time when it's been the hardest on people I guess it's fortunate that some companies get to pick and choose when they can use covid as the go to excuse for problems while still making tons of money.
For me, the worst thing is their silence,no info on release dates, no info on patch releases, no info on anything, just the usual dead air.I really feel bad for the people on the "can we solve this mystery thread." There people have spent hundreds if not thousands of unified hours trying to solve a mystery Ubisoft apparently has zero interest in,they can't even be bothered to acknow;ledge whether there's even anything to find...just dead air.In the mean time the developers should all be lining up and kissing their [censored] they've kept this already dying game alive for them, kept numerous people interested and playing while not a word from Ubisoft.
This is about as much indifference toward gamers as I've ever witnessed from a company, the gamers have shown more care and concern for this game than Ubisoft has and that's pretty sad considering how much money they've made from us. You don't just owe people an explanation for this behavior Ubisoft you owe them a major apology for your indifferent silence and your lack of
give a damn" for this community. For all the problems this game has had people have stuck with you while you thumbed your nose at them not at all concerned about the gaming issues otr anything for that matter.I know, it's all covid's fault right? I guess in this world today respect is just a commodity right Ubisoft, you just by it and sell it like everything else!
This is the very reason this game will never be fixed let alone ever be improved, "game of the year" If I weren't doubled over with laughter at that comment at the moment I'd probably be relisting all the dozens upon dozens of reasons it wasn't game of the year nor even considered. This game SUCKS. And thanks to people like you will never reach the status it could have reached because obviously your satisfied with lower mediocrity, Ubisoft knows this which is why the fishing hasn't been repaired since launch, why bugs still are plaguing the game, why there's no replayability whatsoever and why the so-called "free dlcs" have nothing but reskins and disappointments, why the game play is repetitive from beginning to end, why their is no story to speak of, why the sole redeeming value in this game is visuals. It's also why the support staff will only comment when someone says something positive about the game, look at the number of complaints within the posts, see how many have responded, game of the the year....thanks for the GREAT laughing jag....lol
I was playing so joyful so happy and tame
when data corrupt again took my game
I cried to the heavens this problem be heard
and time after time nary a word
we're showered with armor, with weapons to stash
for pure enjoyment and a little more cash
a game of amazement littered with bugs
with a flick of the switch we cover those jugs
Silence is golden but in this case it's not
understanding and patience beginning to rot
I've tried and I've tried but never a sound
I hear but my echo is Ubi around
over and over it plays just the same
please no more excuses just fix this dam game
I've come to the end of this frustrated verse
Let's hope with a patch the game gets no worse
I'll say what I want bud and people really don't need a Ubisoft apologist telling people what they need.Mtx are BS they've always been BS now they're just over priced BS. I'll tell you what I need though, and what I think other people might need...IS MORE CONTENT IN THE GAME and simply RID of that useless, over priced, game infriging HORROR from HELL helix NIGHTMARE, That's what I think people really need!!!!
After playing the Outriders demo for a few days I decided to go back to Valhalla and do the weekly, btw Ubisoft on a side note, if you plan on running the dlc head to head with Outriders....lol, well, that chuckle says it all. Anywho I check my inventory to see how many opals I have and lo and behold almost a third of my gear I had maxed out, is now back to basic again...lol gosh what a surprise huh? You know what's not a surprise? Ubisoft releasing a patch to fix those little pink boxes,,,lol didn't take them long did it,As usual, they can be counted on to do whats in their own best interests! We can't fix the fish...we can't fix the saves...we can't fix the gear but...Wait, their getting something for free....QUICK a PATCH!!!!
For those of you still brain washed by Ubisofts politics that they actually give a damn about you or gamers or anything for that matter but the almighty dollar, should really take a look at Ubisofts track record for patches, if it's going to costs them money...it's patched first, If it costs us money, time or gear in the game or whatever it's...sorry for the inconvenience!!! Now I've already been told there's nothing they can do to fix my inventory, and to that I say to Ubisoft , If you squint your eyes reallllly tight, you might just be able to see what I'm doing but if you can't...Well hell I'll just tell you I'm smiling while giving you the FINGER, which also doubles as the next time I will ever waste money on a Ubisoft game. I've more than had a belly full of Valhalla BS and Ubisoft lame promises, for which I have no problem saying Ubisoft, you are liars, thieves and worse you are COWARDS!!!
@Viem Though the process of sales is indeed voluntary, when money changes hands it then becomes contractual, and that means a fair bill of goods is expected for said money. Now ,while I do agree that games and gaming co. come under a great deal of scrutiny, it is not at all unjustified. When you consider how difficult it is to get a refund even for a broken game, is it really undignified for people to expect the game to have a high standard and too perform well, especially from a triple A company like Ubisoft? My good man while I applaud your resolve in standing by your gaming co. I believe your ideals are greatly misplaced and have labeled people unfairly. Voicing opinions be they favorable or unfavorable is not only the right of a consumer but a right we all pay for through the nose!
@LeoRaptor1979 What a load of crap! Dude that's the sorriest excuse for a company price gouging that I've ever heard! Name one game...please just one that Ubisoft has lost money on! Last year they made 650 million on microtransactions alone. They're quarterly sales are always bragging of profit! Calling us "cry babies" because we're fed up with a company that builds a game around a pay store shows me your quite uneducated at this companys profit margin and should do us all a favor and shut the hell up when you don't even know what your talking about.Your trying to build a concrete wall on a paper foundation with that lame argument pally. for your information 60 dollars for a game was over priced in 2010 and is STILL over priced today, hardly a good excuse for gaming companies to increase their prices again/
One big reason they never take suggestions outside of their devs is legal problems and that's one thing Ubisoft, nor any company, want or need. If you need an example think of all the people who've said sure,go ahead and record my song, it's great publicity, than the band does and then years later that person wants millions in royalties.Don't ever expect Ubisoft to take anyones suggestion in this sue happy nation. Also Ubisoft only tends to act if a part of the public has been offended, like in the case of Legacy of the first blade
The game was unfinished and it's painfully obvious by the lack of interaction with characters,if you need more my guess is they did intend a few ship battles though not nearly as much as Odyssey by the 1500 m of oceans just sitting to the right, circle the water takes quite a while to do it,they could have put the animus wall much closer at 250 m.How about the constant repetitive dialog, how many people are tired of hearing"you and Petra chasing a white elk"every time you go to the hunter? The most glaring are the numerous amount of bugs in the game which turned us all into beta testers!
No, I for one really wish the team who made Odyssey would have made Valhalla, they paid attention to detail and made the game meaningful I think it would have been a whole new game.Still hope for Valhalla though, just have to wait and see!
completely agree with op.This game is far from finished, there is literally nothing special in this game whatsoever, you play for xp that's it.and once again Ubisoft goes the extra mile to defeat the purpose in playing. You get an awesome sword and an awesome hammer....at the end of the game when it's of little to no use at all.Or you could be where I'm at in a game breaking glitch that I'm stuck in and can go no further. It's an ok game and I'm being very generous with thiat. To top it all with all the success they had implementing new game + what don't they put in Valhalla you guessed it.It's quite obvious that this game is far from complete ,maybe they had to rush it to release something because of the delays of watch dog and cyberpunk and the new game systems but whatever the reason this game is not triple A quality, not by a dam site. You get a long tedious story with very few rewards and a lot of glitches! Both Origins and Odyssey are worlds better than this sorry excuse for a game...I don't know maybe future patches and better content will save it in some way, but at this point it's definitely just "ok"
Ladies and gentleman boys and girls, children of all ages, Ubisoft proudly presents to you The Assassins Creed Valhalla animal kingdom of....the...worrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrld!!!!!!We have dodging dogs, acrobatic cats, side stepping bears, and for the experienced hunters zig zagging deer. Why even rabbits and foxes get in on the fun as they speed back and forth avoiding your death shot. And for the coup de gras since we've learned yes, horses can swim,we have swimming horrrrrrrses, they can't climb much but boy can they swim! And don't worry, for the casual snake lover we have vipers in the snow.
So please join Ubisoft for the most epic viking saga ever told,They've completely rewritten history just for you!No one handed swords in this era,and these vikings, super nice,no killing civilians and I believe they're working on hugs in a future patch.And...for the explicit breasts scene involving Rollo, that's right they have a nudity filter..No worries about historical accuracy either, whatever they get wrong....what's the difference it's just a game anyway.
No period correct armor in this one ,the devs very charitably let their 12 year olds create the game armor, doesn't fit looks like crap but hey....there's the Ubi store.for the most unrealistic looking outfits at a mere twenty dollars...what? too expensive? Just remember their slogan"we're overpriced but we're nice,we take your money with a smile!!!" So open your wallets and get ready for.....well you might want to wait a bit until they get the bugs fixed, but turn those frowns upside down bugs add flavor to a game!
So remember, very little story, characters you could care less about and oodles of empty areas just for you to explore,,have loads of fun in a the fun filled world of Valhalla.....No Refunds
not only is fishing frustrating but it lacks any sense to bother with it....what do you get? A boat you can buy in the store, minor runes ,ingots which are far easier to get out in the world, and as a final prize a swordfish which you still can't get because large flatfish and mackeral are still broken. And since 3 patches have come out it's obvious they aren't interested in fixing it,.So very simply what is the point?
I believe everyones done the best they can with what little there was to work with, A lot of people came together to try and solve a very difficult mystery, you two kept them coming back and kept them inspired with new ideas, it's not always important the answer is found, what;s important is you succeeded in doing what Ubisoft couldn't, keeping people interested in a game that was dying early, and Asgardian too for making the thread...you were more than successful in what you found, some real unity from all over the world, you should be proud of that!
Don't you think people have a right to be angry at Ubisoft? They condition players to have lots of good stuff in Odyssey and even Origins by comparison then Valhalla comes along and we get nothing! Not even a replayable game. Hardly anything in Valhalla is fixed but the helix store keeps chugging along nicely. I personally have lost an entire game of 134 hours to data corrupt and that wasn't the only time. Yet when the patch comes along very little is fixed,The Yule festival with rehashed hunter armor brought even more bugs into the mix which Ubisoft didn't even bother to address, only figuring that when it was over the bugs would go away too. I think people are kinda getting sick and tired of having to reload old saves to salvage their game.
Your argument is it's nice not to have so much armor to sift through, mine is that's how you build a character, not have a generic one created for you. The armor in this game is laughable and lackluster at best, and there are no rewards to speak of No reason whatsoever to even explore, because there's nothing to search for.Hell there's not even a purpose in killing the zealots other than the 3 tablets they have.Yes I will agree that it's a pretty world, but there's nothing to keep the people playing, nothing to keep them interested...right now the game is dead, the only thing keeping it going are the people in the "can we solve this mystery thread"They've kept people interested in searching but Ubisoft can't even be bothered to acknowledge whether there's anything to search for.
It's not just the game either, it's Ubisofts crap attitude toward the players, the lack of interest in fixing bugs, the lack of a dam response to anything! When I bought this game I was expecting a game at least as good as Odyssey and that was my mistake I'll admit that, we all expected caviar and got tuna fish, but I'll never make the mistake of buying an ultimate edition again.People's anger toward this game and Ubisoft is well justified, people aren't just sitting on here complaining as you and imaginary ruins are suggesting, we're here because of the terrible gaming experiences we've had to endure trying to play this sorry lemon, through all the gaming time we've lost, through all the bugs and reloads we've had to do.No gentleman simple things like a misplaced tree, a floating whale I can live with that, but a broken fishing system from day one, the same bugs over and over and on top of that very little replayability, we're not just nit picking or on here simply to complain...we're here to get Unisoft to do something anout it, why? I have 140 reasons!!!
@show_stoppa Dude no offense intended and I mean that because I like you, I think you give a lot of good ideas to people and you genuinely care about AC games...but in this instance I believe your giving way to much leeway for this game, especially the extremely disappointing river raids with the same bad combat and a Thegn armor reskin as a reward. Not only has Ubisoft not earned any trust but they more than likely lost quite a bit more.I honestly believe The Assassins Creed fans deserve better than reskins, and another poorly done dlc which is no different than what we already have.Highly replayable...yeah ok.If this is Ubisoft gaining back trust then I have no hope at all for the rest of the dlcs, nor do I have any hope they even care about the fans. People who support a product deserve better than rehash and reskins!
Oh gosh and yippee the river raids are here, With jornsvikings that have the ai of a rotted melon and you'll stilll blow through the enemies in spite of the idiots blowing up carts right next to you, or silos as your trying to open a door that kill half your crew...excellent job!!!And whats the reward...hold on to your excitement now....a reskin of the Thegn's armor.Ubisoft announced the river raids way back in December, and the best armor reward they can come up with in 3 months is another reskin....lol....Such geniuses!!! That's apparently all 130.00 will buy from Ubisoft games these days...reskins, reskins and more reskins, I had really hoped Ubisoft would have done something special for the players for once but hey, at least they didn't let me down...they did just what I said they would do....NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would just like to say to Tchester and hroosenbeek and many others who went after this mystery, you didn't fail nor did you waste your time, even with so little to work with there were a multitude of ideas people came up with to pursue this mystery unfortunately having only one lead in any mystery will probably lead to nowhere, you didn't fail at all, but Ubisoft did, they showed no interest in this whatsoever to even give a response one way or the other and their indifference has been pretty apparent. You kept people interested and you fought on regardless of how hard it was and brought the community together, Sometimes a test of a persons character isn't always in a solution, but in the journey, for what it's worth you did a hell of a job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
