What is their to discover? Please enlighten me, Yeah you can build buildings in the game ,make a real nice town, but you can't interact with anyone,at least other than buying or selling something.Exactly what is the point of the cartographer? In the last game I played I never went to the cartographer once, and when I finally did there was one map available, all the others I had found on my own.The cartographer would have been much more effective if these were maps that held secret areas.Selling maps to areas that are already available on the map is stupid. The fishing is still bugged.the weapons and outfits are garbage and a complete waste of time to even bother with. You notice how in this game your life doesn't go back up like Odyssey and Origins, well just check out the Hels Damnation pack, you'll see the health is restored when the weapon is ignited, just have to pay 20 more dollars.Anyone want to lay odds that an outfit pack will be coming that negates fall damage?Just check out the Nilfheim pack, another 20 dollars and you can see some real critical damage!Valhalla was built completely around the helix store and will continue to be every 2 weeks when a new outfit will appear with stats that used to be normal....and FREE in the game!
This game has so far demonstrated nothing more than common greed.Anyone willing to bet me that when the next patch is released fishing will still be bugged, that the harpoon impalement will still hit only one out of 4 times if that.Every other Tuesday something new is put in the helix store that's working perfectly yet this game has been bugged since release,no patches for us!I wouldn't even classify this game as mediocre with all the problems it's experiencing, not too mention a non existent reward system with laughable ...I can't even call them armor without laughing so let's just call them rags.Has anyone even noticed that the hel's damnation pack has been in the store since release but has yet to be at Reda.No Origins and Odyssey were much better than this game Where the minds of the developers were on creating a fun game for the players, not just selling new outfits every 2 weeks!
For all Assassins Creed has taken from The Witcher 3 it just couldn't copy it's soul, it's ability to engage the players and literally give them something they've never seen before. The biggest problem for Valhalla at this point is no replayability what soever, there's nothing through the entire game for the player to say "wow, I want to play that again" instead, you're left disappointed, and not just from the numerous bugs within it, but with the lack of a good story or anything remotely exciting to do.not too mention it just sucks to have to keep starting from scratch, you actually dread replaying it not look forward to it. When I played through Odyssey ,I played continuously through all the content as well and I was never bored, and that game started 5 weeks earlier then Valhalla. After 2 months with Valhalla I quit playing,I had to to keep from burning out on so little to do or I wouldn't bother with the dlc. This game is a huge step back from Odyssey and Origins as well. And for people who keep saying "its to early to judge because more content is coming" A game is always judged through the base game because that is where the continuity has to come from to reach the new content. besides the fact that that statement alone pretty much mirrors the opinion the game doesn't have enough to sustain.
This is the very reason this game will never be fixed let alone ever be improved, "game of the year" If I weren't doubled over with laughter at that comment at the moment I'd probably be relisting all the dozens upon dozens of reasons it wasn't game of the year nor even considered. This game SUCKS. And thanks to people like you will never reach the status it could have reached because obviously your satisfied with lower mediocrity, Ubisoft knows this which is why the fishing hasn't been repaired since launch, why bugs still are plaguing the game, why there's no replayability whatsoever and why the so-called "free dlcs" have nothing but reskins and disappointments, why the game play is repetitive from beginning to end, why their is no story to speak of, why the sole redeeming value in this game is visuals. It's also why the support staff will only comment when someone says something positive about the game, look at the number of complaints within the posts, see how many have responded, game of the the year....thanks for the GREAT laughing jag....lol
I was playing so joyful so happy and tame
when data corrupt again took my game
I cried to the heavens this problem be heard
and time after time nary a word
we're showered with armor, with weapons to stash
for pure enjoyment and a little more cash
a game of amazement littered with bugs
with a flick of the switch we cover those jugs
Silence is golden but in this case it's not
understanding and patience beginning to rot
I've tried and I've tried but never a sound
I hear but my echo is Ubi around
over and over it plays just the same
please no more excuses just fix this dam game
I've come to the end of this frustrated verse
Let's hope with a patch the game gets no worse
I've really reached the end of my rope with Ubisoft and their selective nonsense. Through 3 patches now several things in the game are still plagued with problematic bugs, fishing, the Mari lawd set still not coming off, and geez so many more! I keep seeing the same excuse given by their staunch supporters"you have to be patient, covid's really affected them."Well I got news for you covid has affected the entire world, Ubisoft is just fortunate to have a bank account deep enough to deal with it easier than the rest of us,not to mention covid doesn't seem to have affected their ability to continue grossly overpriced microtransactionsAt a time when it's been the hardest on people I guess it's fortunate that some companies get to pick and choose when they can use covid as the go to excuse for problems while still making tons of money.
For me, the worst thing is their silence,no info on release dates, no info on patch releases, no info on anything, just the usual dead air.I really feel bad for the people on the "can we solve this mystery thread." There people have spent hundreds if not thousands of unified hours trying to solve a mystery Ubisoft apparently has zero interest in,they can't even be bothered to acknow;ledge whether there's even anything to find...just dead air.In the mean time the developers should all be lining up and kissing their [censored] they've kept this already dying game alive for them, kept numerous people interested and playing while not a word from Ubisoft.
This is about as much indifference toward gamers as I've ever witnessed from a company, the gamers have shown more care and concern for this game than Ubisoft has and that's pretty sad considering how much money they've made from us. You don't just owe people an explanation for this behavior Ubisoft you owe them a major apology for your indifferent silence and your lack of
give a damn" for this community. For all the problems this game has had people have stuck with you while you thumbed your nose at them not at all concerned about the gaming issues otr anything for that matter.I know, it's all covid's fault right? I guess in this world today respect is just a commodity right Ubisoft, you just by it and sell it like everything else!
I'll say what I want bud and people really don't need a Ubisoft apologist telling people what they need.Mtx are BS they've always been BS now they're just over priced BS. I'll tell you what I need though, and what I think other people might need...IS MORE CONTENT IN THE GAME and simply RID of that useless, over priced, game infriging HORROR from HELL helix NIGHTMARE, That's what I think people really need!!!!
After playing the Outriders demo for a few days I decided to go back to Valhalla and do the weekly, btw Ubisoft on a side note, if you plan on running the dlc head to head with Outriders....lol, well, that chuckle says it all. Anywho I check my inventory to see how many opals I have and lo and behold almost a third of my gear I had maxed out, is now back to basic again...lol gosh what a surprise huh? You know what's not a surprise? Ubisoft releasing a patch to fix those little pink boxes,,,lol didn't take them long did it,As usual, they can be counted on to do whats in their own best interests! We can't fix the fish...we can't fix the saves...we can't fix the gear but...Wait, their getting something for free....QUICK a PATCH!!!!
For those of you still brain washed by Ubisofts politics that they actually give a damn about you or gamers or anything for that matter but the almighty dollar, should really take a look at Ubisofts track record for patches, if it's going to costs them money...it's patched first, If it costs us money, time or gear in the game or whatever it's...sorry for the inconvenience!!! Now I've already been told there's nothing they can do to fix my inventory, and to that I say to Ubisoft , If you squint your eyes reallllly tight, you might just be able to see what I'm doing but if you can't...Well hell I'll just tell you I'm smiling while giving you the FINGER, which also doubles as the next time I will ever waste money on a Ubisoft game. I've more than had a belly full of Valhalla BS and Ubisoft lame promises, for which I have no problem saying Ubisoft, you are liars, thieves and worse you are COWARDS!!!
@KmarkoPL that desn't change the fact they are a money grabbing ripoff !
@thenorfolkian Agreed...another example of Ubisoft giving much less and the player paying far more, this dlc wasn't even worthy of being an expansion, if you look back to curse of the pharos, that was 20 to 30 hours of new content, the dlcs for Odyssey were also sizable, I personally finished Siege of Paris in 6 hours, definitely not worth $25, $10 would have been fair. I found all of Valhalla to be quite lackluster anyway but siege of Paris was pretty laughable!!!
@Viem Though the process of sales is indeed voluntary, when money changes hands it then becomes contractual, and that means a fair bill of goods is expected for said money. Now ,while I do agree that games and gaming co. come under a great deal of scrutiny, it is not at all unjustified. When you consider how difficult it is to get a refund even for a broken game, is it really undignified for people to expect the game to have a high standard and too perform well, especially from a triple A company like Ubisoft? My good man while I applaud your resolve in standing by your gaming co. I believe your ideals are greatly misplaced and have labeled people unfairly. Voicing opinions be they favorable or unfavorable is not only the right of a consumer but a right we all pay for through the nose!
@theblasphemay Yeah I haven't been able to either, not that I really care at this point but it's obvious Ubisoft isn't going to fix the issue since it's already been what 9 or 10 days?More than likely they'll just ignore it then give the items away later on, People should know by now that game glitches or any kind of fixes are last on their list and most wont be fixed even then!!!
The statement"whats the point of mastery challenges if everyone could do it"has got to be by far one of the most foolish I've heard, right up there with the stupidly overused "git gud."To begin with shouldn't a mastery challenge involve weapons that the players have been using throughout the game, aren't those the weapons we've been "mastering."I personally am in complete agreement that games are supposed to be fun, not designed so the slightest error forces the player to do the, ahem. "challnge" over and over again. They are tedious and stupid to put it bluntly.Since the developers couldn't come up with anything better to prolong the game through the remaining mtx I guess this is the dismal effort to try and keep people playing.I did one challenge in a raven slot and when one of the soldiers who had eyes in the back of his head somehow saw me as I was crouched coming up behind him, I realized it wasn't worth the time and haven't bothered with them since.I've come to realize the rewards in Valhalla are like snow in Alaska, just more of the same and really don't need it!!!
The reason you cant use the atlas in Svartleheim is because you are asleep, if you look at the map you'll see an eyeball somewhere on it that says "wake up"and I too have the same problem with the Ostara festival, but I'm not losing any sleep over it,the best festival in Valhalla is one that's over since they've all sucked anyway!!
@sedkijez LOL I wasn't referring to you when I said that I was referring to the post I read about the master challenges, sorry for the confusion, I was simply using it as a reference to the lousy string of failures by Ubisoft including the Ostara festival, hence the statement"I saw on one post" I was not directing that comment at you.And yes you definitely are entitled to a fully working product no argument here,For future reference, you might read a comment thoroughly and understand it before getting angry and assuming someone a fool while you're playing the role of one simply because you scanned the comment rather than reading it.
Do yourself a favor and consider yourself extremely lucky because you're missing nothing!!! Let me start with the garbage ridden so-called mastery challenge which in truth is simply rigged for the player to lose...repeatedly.When I shoot a sleeping arrow at a group of 3 soldiers miraculously one always stays awake long enough to see me. or how about the soldier on the tower who apparently has eyes in the back of his head when I came up behind him and somehow he"sensed me"...lol.or the incredible psychic abilities they possess after I put 2 of them to sleep and hid in a haystack on the upper part and they knew right where to find me when they woke, wow...that's incredible! This is nothing more than attempt to have a dark souls like feel to these silly challenges, and Ubisoft fails on all counts. The challenges are trash and the rewards as usual are laughable.I saw on one post where someone wrote"they wouldnt be mastery challenges if everyone could do them,...LOL Dude I hate to break it to you but your not actually a viking back in the 9th century trying to conquer England, the only mastery you can do in a video game is at best master your controller, so the mastery challenges should be done based on a persons ability to sneak shoot hit etc, not automatically manipulated for the player to fail to keep them playing unneccesarily! Here's the good news though, Jorraptor loves the challenges!!
fair enough...on that thought I agree 100 per cent !!!
Oh really? everything in the store is completely random huh? Last I checked there were no ships or or settlement cosmetics for at least 3 of the armor sets which have 2 sets of armors, so tell me, why are there usually 3 pieces of boat cosmetics in the store as opposed to one armor piece when there are more armor pieces available? You don't think it's more than a little coincidental that the cheapest items in the store are always finding it's way into redas? Come on dude you can't afford to be that naive in life, the store is manipulated, it always has been and will always continue to be!
No reda isn't random, it has never been random and probably won't ever be random, if it was truly random you'd be seeing animals appearing just as often as the cosmetic ship nonsense, it's done by percentages, the way it's always been, ship items probably have a 50 per cent chance of appearing in the shop as opposed to certain types of armors which are more than likely 12 per cent, which is probably why you'll only see one piece of armor in a weekly draw. The daily however is probably the only truly random draw in the entire thing, since it's only in the store for 24 hours a great deal of people will probably miss the item anyway, especially being so long after the release of the game.I'm sure you've all noticed that there are just as many armor pieces as ship parts but when is the last time you saw four or five pieces of armor available in the shop? It's the sleazy way Ubisoft loves to do business, manipulating the drops is just part of that! If they made the drops truly random you'd be seeing far more people able to have a complete set without having to purchase the last 2 or 3 pieces! Be honest whens the last time you got a complete set from reda without having to buy the last few pieces.weeks, months or has it more than likely been never?
Hey Auros are you honestly telling me I don't have the right to complain about poorly done dlcs that costs me gaming hours? yes without money businesses don't survive but without the PLAYERS that money is non existent, Its only ubisofts executive arrogance that believes they have so many customers they don't have to worry about making them unhappy! But if you ever read any history at all business or otherwise you learn corporations fall, tyrants get conquered and dynastys get crushed, all things in the world people would swear never could seem possible, but they all had just one thing in common, they pizzed off the wrong S.O.B.Now I'll agree with you that sob probably isn't a complainant on a forum site, but I also know all it takes to bring a gaming company to it's knees is one bad game...just ask cd project red! companys today are more fragile than ever, all it seems to take is one silly mistake!!!
Yes you did Animus and I'm so sorry I didn't stick to my guns and pass it by, But you see the thing is, it isn't that Ubisoft can't fix these problems it's that they simply won't, it's not in business terms "cost efficient" it's better to let the players eat a $40 loss than to address the many....MANY problems with this. and I'm being generous with this term, game.See I'm not Jorraptor, I don't praise the ground Ubisoft execs walk on for free games and helix credits to "showcase" armor sets. I call a screw up a screw up and there's a long line of screw ups at the gates of Valhalla. Now don't get me wrong I like Jorraptor, I just think he let's far too many things slide with Ubisoft. Lost cause Animus, I'm really thinking that applies to Ubisoft as a whole!!! My apologies Norfolkian if I made a duplicate post on these issues, I was just so angry about losing so many things that I really didn't check the posts, sorry
