After the new update, there is no sound in the game. Don't know what more to say. There is simply no sound.
I was hoping it would be something like Bloody Palace from Devil May Cry. Maybe i didn't watch the trailer properly, so my bad. But what i hate the most is when developers adds conditions to the gameplay. Like "you need to kill all enemies, but must use only this or must not do that". Which is exactly what this mode does. You may say it's not obligation to complete the challenge, but it is obligation if you want the gold medal. So for example, instead of fighting properly, i am trying to position myself to throw enemy into fire or from the ledge, resulting the whole fight looking stupid. Why? I don't see a challenge in this. Put some hard enemy in front of me and let me do whatever i want to survive and beat him. That is challenge. If you add rules, it also reduces immersion. In the game world it feels unnatural. There are rules made by whom? A developer god, i guess. This mode is just boring frustration. Sorry.
Seriously, you got balls to disable saving the game during River Raids when the game crashes sometimes or has other bugs that would force players restart the game. The game crashes quite rarely to me, but when it does during the River Raids when i have almost full cargo, it can [censored] me off extremely. And now i also got stuck in the rock and could not move.
So either fix the game so that it never crashes, like never ever, like 0% chance of crashing, which you won't, remove every single little bug from the game, like 0% chance of encountering any bug, which you won't also, since even Odyssey is not really bug free, or enable saving during River Raids! Or you believe that it is fun to crash or get stunk during River Raids when you have full cargo? Make the game auto-save after every single camp or fortress completion in River Raids! Thank you.
@longjohn119 It's not harder nor it's even difficult. It's stupid. Because they added rules that makes zero sense. Why would i want to throw people in fire or shoot pots to kill them, etc? I don't want this kind of boring BS. It adds nothing but frustration. Definitely not difficulty.
Yes, the game is easy, yes Eivor is OP. Then add harder enemies. It is that simple. That's the challenge i want. Instead, they added stupid mode where you are restricted to use only certain skills and gear and plus you must fight like stupid jerk to get gold. So much fun, really.
No, anything they add should be normally in-game out of any kind of cash shop. Screw any kind of micro-transaction shop
It was a problem in both Origins and Odyssey. It's happening in Valhalla too. The gameplay runs at stable 60 FPS for me, but once some cinematic cut scene starts, i get heavy FPS drop. Why? The cut scene is happening in the same environment i was controlling my character at butter smooth 60 FPS before the cut scene triggered. Well, unlike in Odyssey, in Valhalla it's happening only in those truly cinematic cut scenes. Not in those simply conversation ones. Well, i just started the game and didn't see much yet. I saw heavy FPS drop only in the first cinematic cut scene so far.
@cyberdragon92 More like patch this and remove the silly conditions, add some real challenges without any stupid conditions and let us play the game without limits.
So can you just remove the Mastery Challenge or change it into something completely else already, please? Do not improve it, remove it or change it into something else. Don't you understand that limiting us into only some specific moves or ways of killing is completely boring and frustrating and just bad idea in general? I tried the Mastery Challenge again and got immediately frustrated. I can't find any fun in it.
I don't wanna run around like an idiot to position myself correctly against enemy, so i can throw him in the fire or kick him off the ledge to fall damage kill or just stand in the middle of the fight with three enemies and just waiting for them to strike me so i could parry them. I just wanna kill them naturally. And i don't care about some hints how to do it correctly. Maybe i am doing it wrong, fine. But i don't like it. Even if i was doing it correctly, i still don't like this. I hate stupid conditions or limitations like that. Please, make the Mastery Challenge into something else.
I just don't understand the decisions made for this game. It's like more content you make, the less fun i have and more frustrated i am.
The first would be the puzzles when you have to find a way into some house or some hole to underground to get gear or ability. I don't have fun being stuck in place, running around like a rabbit, searching for some stupid hole in the ground.
Mastery challenges i mentioned in other thread.
Rebels in SoP DLC. When you get the rebel mission and you need to keep alive all of them to get highest score. So i go stealth, get spotted, but manage to disappear shortly after, but those stupid rebels rushes in anyway and most of them gets killed. Why they just won't leave/hide as soon as i hide?
Also, remove the necessity of pressing button to make Eivor sprint. It's useless. Make it like in Origins and Odyssey. And REMOVE THE HORSE SPEED LIMIT RESTRICTION IN CITIES/VILLAGES!!! Nobody likes it, so why you keep it like this? Meaning you are trying to make people mad on purpose?
Why this game just can't be fun for a while? What's the point making people frustrated?
@rave_burrito You mean being able to sprint at max speed simply by moving the left stick at max without needing to press L3? If so, i completely agree with you. The need to press L3 to sprint is annoying and sometimes i can't even tell if the character is actually sprinting or not. I'd like it to be the same as in Origins and Odyssey.
@neckpunchattack Well… they’ll listen when ppl finally stop with the preorders and all that, so really, that’s the only way to get their attention, so keep that in mind instead of buying their “we’re looking into it” lines.
And since people still has a lot of money, they will keep pre-ordering and spending money for crap like that, simply because they can. It has always been like that and always will be. People's mind is too week to resist hype, etc. especially if they have enough money. Sad, but true.
@ubi-milky I believe it's because some people may misunderstanding HDR. I'm not saying everyone, but some may, like i did, before i got HDR display.
HDR isn't trying to make the picture more colorful, it's trying to make the picture so that everything is visible. In many cases, it even reduces colors and it looks less colorful than normal SDR mode, thus it feels washed out. It simply extends the contrast of the brightness higher, without over-brightening it. Then the all lights and shadows of the scene feels different from the normal mode. Some games does HDR quite well. Like Horizon Zero Dawn for example, but it still has less colors than the normal mode, so i always increase saturation a bit. But the fact is that those colors are still there, it just behave differently and it just feels it has less colors. It is the same with HDR movies.
For me, the HDR in Valhalla is working, but i thought it doesn't at first. Because i get less colors than in normal mode. But i actually get the high contrast. I'm not really fan of the HDR trying to make everything visible, even in darker scenes, so what i did in Valhala is that i put the exposure to the minimum (-2) in HDR settings, when playing in HDR mode. It makes the game significantly darker, but keeps the highlights bright. And with combination of my x900f TV which makes the game mode with brighter highlights, the picture looks quite interesting now. It feels cool and mysterious. So, something for consideration.
Edit: I recommend to add saturation slider to the HDR screen settings in the game.
Edit 2: AND LOWER THE FREAKING NIGHT BRIGHTNESS, FFS! Nobody likes it the way it is.
@pesto I don't think the all light during the night coming all from the moon. If it did, then the moon would be way brighter. Moon may be the source but not completely. I think the sliders of the lights in the night are just badly set. And as i said, the night in Valhalla is so bright that there is so much space for improvement that they could lower the brightness to make it look better and we still wouldn't have to use torch. But in the same time, it would look better than now. They just need to make the darkness darker, so that the bright parts would pop out more nicely, which would remove the washed out feeling. They simply ain't gonna do that.
@pesto The bright night isn't caused by the moon. They simply made the night too bright. And not just in HDR but in normal mode too. It was same with Origins and Odyssey. They simply think that if they made night darker, people wouldn't see. And in fact, some people would really complain about it. But the fact is that they could still make the night darker than it is now without reducing visibility. Some people excusing it that the night is this bright because of the full moon, like in real life. But in real life, you never get night this bright on full moon. I think there is not even point to have a day and night cycle when the night looks like a stormy day.
@ubi-borealis I'd like to share that i have the very same problem as other people have. Completed and upgrated all the outposts in Ireland on my first playthrough and decided to start over and i get those quests for those outposts, but it won't let me complete it as they seems to be already fully upgraded. Please fix.
@gayngel2019 No, we should be able to save during river raids and if we die, we should reload last save in river raid with all the loot we collected. There is zero fun to lose 2 hours of game play because of dying and because of bug.
@jameslogan491 As an OP of this thread, i agree with you. But what if there wasn't any kind of glitch in the game at all and you died completely by your own fault in that one River Raid run on the final location after spending two hours clearing out all the other posts? You still wouldn't want to be able to save everywhere before every post, just like you can in the main world? I mentioned this many times in the thread. The only challenge that i accept as a challenge is an enemy that stands in front of me or anything that has anything to do with the game's world and lore. Not being able to save is decided by devs and it has no lore meaning. It's there just for the sake of a challenge. But to me this is no challenge. All this does is pi**ing you off. If you die in the game, you won't be able to progress regardless if you can respawn right in front of the last enemy that killed you or if you need to start the whole thing over. Only that when you are forced to start the whole thing over, you are also pi**ed more on top of that. Why is it good to add something into the game that does nothing, but pi**ing people off? Where's the fun in that?
Ubisoft, how the investigation and fixing of this issue going? Does the dev team knows what's causing it yet and will it be fixed soon?
@ubi-borealis Teleporting is what causing Eivor to fly. Most of the time, Eivor just teleports few meters without flying. It probably depends where and into what Eivor teleports, then the flying can happen.
Why light reflection from Sun and Moon on snow makes the snow look like a whipped cream from certain angle? Did anyone else notice?
