Every time, I die, and use a save or quick save, the screen then becomes grey, like a black and white move. with the exception of fire, candles, and stain glass windows. All actions can be performed, just with no colour clues.
Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition. -Valhalla Gold version, Digital delivery.
Notes: Progression is Chapter 2. But I have explored every eagle view points of almost 3/4 of the map.
To reproduce - Make a manual Save and Die. or Make a Quick Save and Die.
Exit game and reload - Problem Persists
Restart Console - Problem Persists
Fast Travel - Problem Persists
Only fix is to find a "Speak" option somewhere. Like a merchant, or Dice, blacksmith. Any NPC that gives conversation options. then DON"T get killed. But this is happen when you are deep in the the wilderness and get killed by a wolf while you are fishing. It then takes 10 minutes to fix the issue then 2o minutes cross country to where you were.
MY - Level of Frustration is very high. I now no longer make risky moves that may kill me.
Game breaking NO. BUT Game changing yes.
Exploit - Die then do any underwater sequences, or caves it works like night vision. Water no longer creates darkness, or shadows when in the grey mode. Fast travel and then perform fix.
Yeah. Had the same cleared the fog. Re log, Back again.
Why use grey on grey, they hide the paths in the art work. Or worse the Art work appears to create a valid path that is not there when you spend the points.
Give me a "Hide Art work and Stars"
Why not make a bigger colour coded ring around the skills by type.
Easy to find, easy to plan.
I snuck in to a monastery, from on land and Assassinated, almost half the town before I used the horn and started the raid.
Barging the first door, a civilian came and help. Which worked great for 2 doors and 2 chests.
The last chest I could not get any help for.
So I went looking. The crew were fighting with arrows, the troops on the land. From the longship
I swam out the the longship, backed up and the then used the "Raid" option. NO luck.
I then backed the longship further. No Luck.
I had to kill all the enemy soldiers they were engaged with. And back the longship a long way away and wait for the OAR animation and then speed into the Raid area.
The crew unloaded, and at this stage all the soldiers of the town were already dead by my hand.
I then was finally able to reach the last assist door and chest.
It makes me ask. What is the horn for? If the crew will always arrive via the raid zone, and the not the gate you are standing in ? And then why did they stay in the longship?
@cheesedragonjew I just found that out the fix yesterday was to kill the bard. The in game spelling for the zone is HAMTUNSCIRE (power 350). Which is on the Western edge of the England world map. The world event is on the eastern edge of that zone. (For others finding and reading this post)
I found Killing the bard easiest with a Seax. With the highspeed and you can pin the Bard so he can't make counter attacks. Trial and error with over weapons make for a drawn out fight. Just remember to doge (to the side) the first leap attack.

@ubi-litten - Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Thank you for your interest in this issue. I was able to reproduce the error and get better screen shots today.
The dice game is in Crawleah, on the south edge of the game map. It is caused by the cows. I took about 2 games of dice for the error to occur.
I think this image is a good tell all. The cows wandered all over the play space. Seeing cow hooves appear on the game mat. Eventually both players were out of place.
Funny though, I could not see the opponent side of game and I won "Hooray" at long last.
Obscured
Bug / Annoyance - Playing dice while seated on the ground. I was pushed on to the playing mat covering up the dice bowl and God token half of the screen with my body. I quickly checked what happened, using photo mode, a cow, had pushed me into the playing mat.
I had a forfeit a winning game. And I given up playing the ground seated dice players.

@guardianoz The cause is dying and reverting to A manual Save or Quick save. The autosave works fine.
The only fix that is viable is not dying. "LOL"
@guardianoz Starting any "speaking" also fixes the grey screen issue. Eg Merchants, Quest Givers, black smiths ect.
Fix - Play dice.
I had my screen stuck in grey, with reduced render distance.
Tried Fast travel - No Change
Exit and relog - no change
Restart console and relog no change.
Played dice. Fixed up Great.
Good luck

I rage quit today. Use have used white everywhere. Every time, it is used it causes me pain and frustration, more that any other Assassin/s Creed games. White HUD on snow why? This is the first player experience. It took me ages to find the background setting for that. so Ok. But white map icons why, white key Icons? white paper things? white glow for locks? white glow for other environmental clues.
Trying to find the white things.... The map marker and Odin's vision don't match the location of the object. Standing in a room and pinging sonar, all around, all round under and all around above. And Not notice the clue because its white backlit by your amazing lighting effects from the sun. Its frustrating, and annoying, for such a simple task. Grab the thing. Chest keep their golden glow and shimmering circles. For some time. The white glows too. But in fog, on white stone wall. Grr.
You have contrast and brightness settings, These do not effect White on White or White backlit by white, or white on a white background. But the golden forests, and vistas display great.
We change text to make it larger, and easer to see but the looting clue dot is small and you guessed it. WHITE.
But just for fun. The first 3 raid towns have the same colour as your army. Blue. With out (white) target lock you can not tell friend from foe. They glow red for moment using Odin's vision. But....
Skill tree what? Grey on Grey, This clearly, was designed and Viewed by young developers on high end displays. The grey, on grey, obscured by clouds and backlit by stars using tiny icons, with no colour code as what does what. Why? Then, I spent a few hours mapping out the whole skill tree, By re-spending the skill points. 50 At a time. Then I went to spend points to day and it is all obscured again. How are you meant to plan how to spend your points. How about map markers here to?
And now anther rage issues. You obscure the tree, but you hide the path using the background pictures. I would love to see this tree with and option "Hide Constellations". If you measured how often this was used. I am almost sure every one including my perfect vision Teen son would use it and keep it off.
Then you obscure the skill paths through hidden constellations and then the path is not clear and does not reconnect where you expect. Adding to frustration. Let alone hiding complementary skills all over the tree, forcing me to spend points too unlock the path, on things I don't use or simply did not want. You state "respec" when ever you want to complement you play style. Try this unlock the 5 raven Armor skills with out a an archery perk. Or reach the far distance Icon you discovered, only to plan a respec for a tough fight. With minimal weapon choice and Armor choice early game, the only way to change you style is with skills that is overly complex, difficult to follow, and does not "Do what you expect".
You even have an option to display icons earler. Who cares when you don't notice them. And you finally get within 20m and can't, find them. (white ones)
Looking forward to some assistance - What colour blind scheme would help? As white on white is common occurrence in this game, and Grey on Grey skill tree is an overly complex design. Awesome at first use. Rage inducing every time I find a disconnected path, I expected would connect.
Can this be resolved? With settings I haven't found? Is re-obscuring the skill by design? Or just an over looked bug. Test uncover the whole tree, pull back all your points, exit the game and restart.
