Hi all,
the HDR in AC: Valhalla is simply broken, apparently on all platforms. I see many posts here and "online" complaining about this, but it seems that most people (using HDR displays) either don't seem to care, think the squashed color gamut is as the game should be or think that they need to calibrate their display.
I'd like to have proper HDR working, but honestly I don't care and play in SDR just fine, the problem is that to do this you need to disable HDR for the whole console (PS5), because the game does not have an option for it.
I've created a video to demonstrate how bad the HDR is, and how it essentially ruins the game:
(Note that the video is in Italian, but the images speak for themself -there are also English subtitles, btw-. Also, this is a direct PS5 recording, not a screen capture, so screen calibration is not a factor of the quality shown.)
Please give us an in-game option to disable HDR, so that I can switch to other games or media without having to toggle this in the console settings each time.
