Hello everyone! My sincerest apologies that your Hard Core character has been killed due to the Division 2 crashing and freezing. Our teams are currently investigating the crashing issues and are working towards a solution for this. I do deeply apologize that you have lost your hardcore character due to this. However, I appreciate your patience as our teams investigate this.
This is like talking to a bot. The replies are identical every time and it's been months with NO fix or update from the devs.
I have noticed also that over the past couple of months ALL my favourite Twitch streamers have stopped playing Division 2, even the ones that specifically set up Twitch to stream that game. It's mostly just Console streamers on Div2 in Twitch now. Until this recent update I could log into Twitch any time of day and watch one of my favourite PC streamers playing Div2 , but not any more. You can pretend this is an isolated issue affecting only a small group of players, but the truth is there's probably hundreds more who just don't care enough to get on here and complain about it. They're probably off playing a competitors game instead, nice job
Like me, I know there are a lot of players who have these problems. My question is why others have no problem with the game closing. There are a lot of people on YouTube who don't complain about problems, which means that those who complain are not taken into account. That's my only explanation, given how long these problems have been. Or they are not able to figure out where these problems come from.. I've already tried about six times on the hard core so the only advice is not to bother because it's not worth it.
I mentioned in another post that a streamer I was watching on Twitch earlier today crashed 4 times in less than an hour and he wasn't even bothered. He just started the game up again and acted like it was normal. After this experience with Ubisoft support though I'm actually less inclined to complain in the future either, rather I'll just not buy their games and stop playing Ubi altogether. It really does feel like a complete waste of energy right now.
This worked for me..
Additionally, some users have reported that disabling the Ubisoft Connect overlay has helped with crashing:To disable the Ubisoft Connect in-game overlay: Open the three-line menu in the top left corner of your screen. Select Settings. Under the General tab, uncheck Enable in-game overlay for supported games.
This does not work for me. You can play for hours without it crashing, then some days it will crash every 15-30 minutes .. This is a bug with the game, not your system or the overlay!
@ubi-milky as an IT support professional and network admin for more than 25 years let me assure you that I'm not an idiot. Every time you ask me to do something like this, is like one of my own colleagues asking me if "I've turned it off and on again". It's just lazy and proves to me with no doubt that you aren't even trying to figure this out. If I took this long to fix bugs and errors in my line of work I'd have been sacked months ago. Hell, I'd sack me if I was this bad!
You're useless and I'm done with your BS! You absolute money grabbing trolls!
Edit:
Is the issue created by a corrupted game file, or performing a certain set of actions in the game?
System files verified and checked multiple times, no errors. Random , game crashes randomly.
Is it related to using certain settings in the game?
You know it isn't. No matter what I set, DX11, DX12, Low settings, High settings, feature off, feature on.. etc..
Is it related to a piece of hardware, a certain driver, or an update the player is using?
No. I've got 2 gaming laptops, different models and both have the same issue with your game.
Is it related to certain software that is installed or running in the background?
No. I've disabled all non-essential background processes, disabled overlay, etc.. does nothing to fix the issue..
Wait, yes. Your game, I think it's related to your game running, period.
Is it related to the game launcher?
No. I've bypassed the launcher, running the game.exe directly. Even as admin (though only to test my theory, nobody should run as admin)!
Is the issue caused by a connection or a certain server?
You tell me. We aren't all using the same internet connection nor are we all connecting to the same regional servers.
Don't take my word for it, here's a random Twitch Streamer experiencing the same issue (his 3rd crash in less than an hour)

@xmdead Agree with everything you've mentioned here. The DZ is full of OP gangs that get off on ruining your evening!
@ubi-viral at this point I feel like I'm going round in circles and that you are just buying time. Many in these threads have already opened tickets, sent in diag reports etc.. How many more people need to complain about the same exact issue before you accept this is a genuine bug with your software (with this particular build). I've personally tried all the workarounds yourselves and the others have mentioned, my game still hangs. I even installed it on my old gaming laptop and same issue there. I've lost all my clan members because of it, seriously nobody in my clan or personal friend list want to play it any more due to the constant freezing and crashing.
Edit: No other games on my gaming rig crash or hang. I even play VR titles that use way more resources than this game and they don't freeze or crash either. Farting around with my gaming PC settings just to accommodate one game is like throwing away all my clothes because one t-shirt has a hole in it..
Just found this: (that aged well, haha)
Had a couple of weird crashes today, blank screen with the usual glitching audio, then fans went crazy had to power off. I'm used to the random freeze and CTD but it's never crashed like this, bit worried it's an issue with my PC, the only change to my system was windows update KB5007186. Anyone had anything like this?
It's not your PC or the Windows update.
You can verify this by playing any other game and noticing you don't have the same issue.
It's Division 2 , not your system.
The community is more active at trying to find a solution for this issue than Ubisoft.
I did try the DPI scaling and Full Screen Optimisation fix the other day, it crashed 2 hours into gameplay, then after restart it crashed less than 5 minutes into gameplay. After that it was good for another hour, but froze again. Saying that though, I have a great deal of respect for everyone who's put their own time and energy into looking at "workarounds" for this bug. Meanwhile, maybe Ubisoft can put the same effort into fixing it so we don't have to constantly be playing around with system settings. System settings that aren't affecting ANY OTHER game btw!
@fearmycrits Your complaints will fall on deaf ears.
I've lost all faith in Ubisoft and from what I'm hearing in the Division2 community on Twitch, so has everyone else.
Can confirm, still crashes for me. Even after the recent update.
Also crashes for my friends, one friend said it crashed every 15-30 minutes the other day.
Some evenings I don't get one crash, other evenings it will crashed 2 or more times within half hour.
Someone asked about this issue during their live podcast and the two speakers just brushed it off with vague words.
If they would just acknowledge it and not keep pretending it's our rigs .. I'd probably respect them again.
Good luck everyone , this issue has been going on for years. I don't see it getting fixed any time soon
@counterfitloser Ubisoft don't care, they literally don't care. I'm not trolling you, it's a fact. They are the worst at fixing game issues and even worse at customer support.
@rage_therapy Same for me. No issues all day yesterday, then today I've had 6 crashes .. The longest I've managed to play was 40 minutes. The shortest crash was 2 minutes. Ubisoft are ridiculous.
I'm starting to think this is personal now. Is it because I called you out on Twitter, Ubisoft ?
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1294875966
4 VODs (update 5 now) on my feed right now from tonight, each crash gets quicker quicker.. This one was less than 4 minutes..
Game has froze 3 times in less than 45 minutes tonight during my stream. This is total incompetence. Ubicrash you are useless.
Love the game, hate the devs.
Does anyone know what is happening here and how I can maybe fix this?
@nihil31 Exactly, I remember being able to play this game non-stop for several hours at a time without a single crash. But since that update it's been like playing Crash Simulator Roulette!
This is the only game that I play which requires me to fiddle with system settings, every time. No other game in my 100+ gaming catalogue require me to do anything but start up and play. I've got games that use way more memory and GPU than Division 2 , which run smooth and haven't crashed once during several hours of non-stop gameplay.
The truth is that they simply don't care enough to fix this. It's going to cost them money to fix it and they are not going to do that.
I see why people are leaving Ubisoft , I wouldn't want to work for this company either!
A few of my replies on another thread have been shadow banned. They also closed the official "update" thread, without so much as an actual UPDATE!
Good luck getting them to take your issues seriously, especially ones like this which are effecting thousands of users.. They don't care , simple as.
