I agree that it really isn't a patch on some of the earlier games in the series. Too many of the characters were totally unlikable or unrelatable and the few who were any good got killed off (Jonron and el Tigre spring to mind) whereas the woke ones and battlers survive (you know the two woke rap lemons who were included for their diversity box-ticking and their fat lemon mate and the hound-dog of a poet). The story line wasn't bad, although I agree that the clothes changing piece was really lame, and the only supremo I used was the rocket pack as it was great for getting rid of tanks and those pesky helicopters which constantly appear. I have played it through to completion and probably won't go back and replay it again whereas with all the other games in the series I have and continue to do so as they were fun and entertaining.
The bandidos ops are ok but again you would only play them once. The special ops are also okay but again I would probably not play them again. The amigos were unremarkable, apart from the crappy-yappy roller-dog who I never even bothered using. I despised having to go into 3rd person in the camps and hope that Ubisoft don't make that mistake again. This is a FPS - keep it that way.
The Vass DLC was the major disappointment for me though. I liked the story behind it but found the whole process very frustrating and unnecessarily time consuming. The less than subtle joke of having to do the same things again and again being the definition of insanity became boring very quickly and certainly acts as a huge disincentive to playing. I hope the next two DLCs don't also disappoint and aren't a rogue like format where progress can't be saved.
Hi,
Since the latest patch on 7 Dec I am now getting the following message and not able to start the damn game:-
"A GPU with required Direct3D 12 Feature level support wasn't found.
If you receive this error and your graphics cards supports Feature level 12_0, please make sure the graphics card driver and Windows are updated to the latest version. Then restart the game."
How do I resolve this?
I would really be enjoying the Vaas Insanity DLC apart from the fact that it constantly restarts from the beginning when you die. Yes, I see the less than subtle joke - the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again etc etc etc. However, this means it is almost impossible to finish without spending hours and hours playing. It just gets lame having to do the same stuff repeatedly. How about an update so that when you get a piece of Citra's knife you don't lose it if you get killed? Kind of like the traits or the weapons you get to keep permanently?
Please don't make this same mistake with the Joseph Seed or the Pagan Min DLCs because it really sucks balls and kills any enjoyment from something which is actually well crafted with a great villian and a good back story.
@the_king_baby Cheers to that. Totally agree. Unlikely and unlikeable - would have happily shot them all or sold them out to the army if I had been able. But hey - they tick all the woke boxes!
I am a huge fan of the series and own Far Cry 1-5, New Dawn and now 6. Unfortunately I think Ubisoft have dropped the ball here. They must have got rid of plenty of people in their teams who made the previous chapters so good as this really is a massive letdown unfortunately. The story line is weak, the characters mostly very unlikable or relatable, I despise roller-dog and willingly try to terminate him with extreme prejudice at any chance (although the Croc is not bad for a laugh but he rates far below Horatio the snorting Pig in New Dawn), flying choppers is clumsy and you can't avoid getting shot down by using skill, most of the initial weapons don't do much damage whereas all the re-spawning enemies hurt you hard and fast, and why the need to drop into bloody third person when in the camps (that just makes me motion sick and slows down the whole tedious process of moving around discovering and doing stuff in them)?
Every other game in the series has captivated me so much that I would play for hours straight whereas with Far Cry 6 I play it for a bit, get bored and walk away. I will keep going until I finish but this could take weeks as it really is not that much fun to be honest, sadly.
@tcarlisle2012 Just get up on a wall or on a roof. With a silencer or go loud if you want to attract as many ghosts as possible to farm points. The ghosts either can be taken out with one shot or just let them run into the wall and explode without doing any damage to you at all. I have even used throwing axes to make them explode. Then take out the non-ghost soldiers who can fire at you. Then either harvest points between waves or just wait until morning and collect en masse.
@wid992007 Nice one if one is smug, sanctimonious and basically has no idea, empathy or decency. How come the damn game worked fine on launch, enabled me to play it to completion, enabled me to play the weekly Insurrection releases, worked fine after the Vass Insanity release and the bang stopped working after the Dec 7 update? Seriously - some people are nothing more than wankers, including Ubisoft.
@netspook They hang around for a while, certainly until the morning hits.
@theexplosiveguy With you there champ. My least favourite game in the whole series. Any characters of interest like El Tigre and RonRon get killed off but all the woke lemons survive (the rap twits and their gay fat mate and the stupid poet). Only one Resolver was useful (the rocket pack as it could take down choppers), the outfit stuff sucked balls, Dani was not bad as a character, they could've done more with Espada, the amigos were pretty lame (especially roller-dog), the sandbox was good, but the whole Maximas Matanzas woke piece was just tedious. I tried to find a way to blow them up or to get the military to wipe them out with no luck. The only good thing about the game was that Ubisoft didn't find a way to insert that idiot Hurk into the story.
@deadlytowerssux Just don't bother with the stupid animals. Or shoot them yourself, especially roller dog.
@fat-falcon Sorry but that made me really laugh. Bit hard to progress when you are a bar stool isn't it? Good luck getting out. Really happy this didn't happen to me.
Hoping that someone can provide me a list of all the mods that the weapons in each of the three DLC packs have. Especially the pistol, the assault rifle and the machine gun. It is extremely frustrating and expensive (in terms of points spent) of having to roll through the mods at each level until finding the one you are looking for. For me I just want good sights, silenced (with no over-heating issues) and hard hitting. Don't care about poison or flames or any of the other useless stuff. Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Summed it up well champ. Thanks. Agree totally with everything posted especially re Maximas Matanzas - what were they thinking other than let's appease the woke? Very witty summation of how appalling that bit of the story was. Even moving around their swamp lair in 3rd person was enough to make me consider taking up competitive rum drinking! Sad how all the decent characters (El Tigre, RonRon) got killed but those lemons and the pathetic poet survived. In the real world they would last about 5 minutes, as would the yappy, crappy roller-dog amigo. I would have also liked to have seen more of the bird from the Monterros, what's her name - Espada, wasn't it?
I think most of the other games in the series are better. From 1 right through to New Dawn. The only one I have never played is the prehistoric one as I hate using bows (other than crossbows or carbon fibre high tension and accurate ones) and spears and don't have an affiliation for wooly mammoths or ape people. Keep on posting as you write truth.
@xmdead Perhaps the mention of Maximas Matanzas might be a clue? Given they are a key part of Far Cry 6. I knew exactly what TKB was talking about and totally agree with what he has written.
