Hello Guerillas,

 

In Far Cry 5, you continue to move forward (either walking or running) as you strafe right/left. If you are walking while strafing right/left, and you hit the run key, you will move faster.

 

In Far Cry 6, you A) stop running and B) stop moving forward as you strafe right/left. If you hit the run key, nothing happens.

Is this intentional?

New Dawn did not have any movement differences from FC5.

Sorry, this is the PC version, and I have strafe keys mapped to keyboard and move forward mapped to right mouse button.

This also occurs (the cancellation of moving forward even when you're holding the move forward button down) when you are crouched and then strafe.

You guys fixed the move forward issue! Thank you so much!

Now that that's fixed, there's a problem with vehicles. If you have your move forward bound to a mouse button, and you have a key on your keyboard bound to move left/move right, you will:

A. Stop moving forward in your vehicle, and
B. When you press your move left or move right key, you turn the wheel all the way in that direction and don't stop. You can press the opposite direction to change direction, but then you will turn the wheel (or horse) all the way in that direction, too.

Just like the movement bug referenced in the link, if you bind your move forward key for transport to a non-mouse key, it functions as normal.

. In the first half of the video, I'm driving with my move forward key bound to my right mouse button. Then in the second half of the video, I change my move forward key to a keyboard key, and then it functions as normal.

P.S. Over a year ago I provided feedback to Ubisoft asking for a hamster to be a potential pet in the game, but I'm not finding any hamsters yet. The hutias are cool but you can't have them as a pet. My recommendation was pretty specific: a Syrian hamster, like this one. Please let me know if this is functioning as intended.

Thank you for creating another fun game. I have loved Farcry since the beginning (although I haven't played 2), and I remember Farcry 3 as being a game-changer. Every iteration since--Blood Dragon, Farcry 4, Farcry 5, New Dawn--have all been so much fun to play and Farcry 6 is no exception.

I don't quite understand how people can review a game so quickly unless they have access to it prior, and I know there are bugs, but I've still had a very good time playing the game and can't wait to see what else you guys make in this franchise. Coming from a place of love when I play games like Deus Ex and Dishonored, Farcry has always been one of my favorites. Thanks for all the hard work!

Hey Ubisoft,

I submitted this feedback some time ago in the hopes it would make Farcry 6, but so far I'm not seeing any Syrian hamsters in the game. Just so I'm clear, this is the feature set for this pet:

1. It should be a male and female hamster.
2. The hamsters only operate at night.
3. The hamsters can be sent to chew through cords, thus disabling alarms or vehicles.
4. You have to keep a hamster cage in your base for your hamsters to sleep in during the day.
5. Possible upgrades for the hamster cage (which in turn upgrade the hamster's abilities) include a bigger cage, a better wheel, and better food (gained through gathering and crafting)
6. Hamsters can pack their pouches with different materials and deliver them to places (for example--a hamster could pack C4 and a detonator and plant it where you say)
7. Hamsters also acquire enemy targets
8. Please remember that when hamsters run outside of their cage, they usually flatten their bodies and ears and move very fast

VERIFIED: If you bind move forward to a key on the keyboard, movement occurs as normal. This bug is only reproducible when you have a movement key bound to your mouse and others bound to your keyboard. Great job @BFalck !!!

1. This is a bug or not,
2. If it's not a bug, acknowledge that it works differently than Farcry 3,4,5, Blood Dragon, and New Dawn?

I've been encountering this quite a bit, where there's a black exclamation point over something that's ostensibly taped against a wall or post, but no matter how I try, I cannot see it or access it, just the black exclamation point.

@ubi-froggard I second this SO MUCH. As a long-time FarCry player, I'm really disappointed that you guys haven't fixed this yet. First it was regular movement and the mouse, now it's vehicles and the mouse. I haven't done *ANY* of the racing content or used the vehicle option in any of my combat tactics because of this. It really bums me out that I spent as much money as it cost to start playing the game Day 1, and that this bug still exists. It makes the game less fun and it makes me think the devs don't care--although I freely admit I have no idea how busy everyone is or what they're going through--but in the world of just playing super-fun video games, this stinks.

@ubi-froggard it happened after I completed the mission. During the mission, Dani says all kinds of cool lines from Rambo, but after the mission when I use the Vengeance Bow, she doesn't.

@wand0_nv I don't think it's crazy to think it should be fixed by now, nor do I think it's old-school to use a mouse button for movement. I'm crazy!

@ubi-thrupney thanks! It's not a big deal. The big fix I'm excited about is the oversteering issues for those who have move forward bound to their mouse. I really want to do all the crazy stuff in vehicles and also the racing.
